Amazing food, casual atmosphere! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Prawn. Lobster chowder was absolutely delicious. Mussels were good but I highly recommend the chilled octopus salad. Tender tasty slices of octopus in a lemon based vinaigrette with chick peas and hearts of palm. Yum! For entrees, we had twin lobster tails and walnut encrusted halibut. Both came with lobster risotto and crispy brussel sprouts. Halibut had a pesto drizzle which complimented the pan fried walnut encrusted fish. It's casual, plated in aluminum to go containers even when eating on-site. Nice courtyard adjacent to the restaurant with ample seating. Order at window, BYOB. Support local, eat fresh without regrets!

We happened upon this lovely establishment in the afternoon. We were greeted by a lovely welcome and description of what they offered. I believe that may have been Mia. In any event we came back later, and were delighted with the whole experience. The service was accommodating and friendly. The food was very delicious. We ate some, then the servers happily packed it for us to go so we could eat on the porch of our bed and breakfast. That was the right call, and we enjoyed the seafood feast thoroughly. Excellent selection of non-alcoholic beverages. Thank you, Mia and gang. We will certainly be back!

Really delicious food! We had the calamari as an app and the fried combo platter. The calamari was not what we expected but very good. The combo platter was delicious. Friendly server and overall nice atmosphere. It is also BYOB which is nice so you do not need to pay for overpriced wine!

Fantastic meal. Everything was perfectly cooked. Not rubbery-it was crisp to crack. Fun for teens to sit and crack together. Enough for all four of us, but we added french fries and flounder.

What a gem of a seafood restaurant. Super fresh and awesome. Great staff and BYOB! You can't go wrong eating here!

Best restaurant in all of Cape May, hands down! The calamari was awesome, the tuna tartar was fabulous, but the crab cake was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. It was such a generous portion of crab meat with just enough filler to hold it together. I can't wait to get back to order it again. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the ingredients and dishes, and the second best part (behind the crab cake, of course) is it's BYOB!

The atmosphere is super laid back out on the patio. Fantastic service by our server, Ben, too. You guys rock. Keep up the great work and we can't wait to be back!

Phenomenal dinner! If you like crab cakes, GET IT if it’s on the menu. BEST EVER. Real dedication to great quality seafood. It’s a casual, very comfortable environment with the focus on the simply prepared food. Bring a bottle of wine with you. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Plus, it’s not in the crowded section of town. A very peaceful lovely place. Thrash vertical!!!

Small crab restaurant near Washington Street Mall. I love it outdoor setting and it special. Perfect for family of 3 to 4 person.

The food was fantastic! BYOB with cute outdoor seating (limited). Staff was very friendly and upfront with us, letting us know the meal would take about an hour to make/serve because each meal is made fresh. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves seafood - crab, muscles, snow crab legs, muscles, clams, crab cakes, seafood pasta... all delicious!

5 star review for takeout! I have struggled to find proper, great takeout meals ever since the start of COVID but oh my god, Prawn exceeded all our expectations. We ordered the mussels in white sauce (which was a surprisingly huge portion), the scallop app, the crab claws app, the buffalo cauliflower, and the kids meal with lobster tail! Wow, just wow. Everything was amazing and I would recommend each dish. I still can't get over the fact that we got a kids meal lobster tail! Also, the staff was very lovely over the phone. All and all, wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

Outstanding dinner! Best meal in Cape May thus far. Shrimp cocktail was fresh alongside a zesty sauce, salad with a pesto inspired vinaigrette was refreshing, the calamari and octopus salad was our favorite, not chewy and full of flavor (served like a salad, pickled) and the halibut dinner cooked to perfection. The freshly baked bread alone, will have me back. Good luck and we hope to see you soon.

Food was fresh, clean, and really spiced excellently. Not a single complaint. We ordered to go, and that worked well for our young family. I imagine dining in would make this delicious food even more special. We ordered a lot off different items off the menu and a wide variety of crabs. Couldn’t be more pleased with this gem of a seafood restaurant!

Found this lovely spot on the way back to the house (in North Cape May) after having dinner with family near Washington Street Mall. The sign out front intrigued me, as we drove by. I called and made a reservation for the following night. As we arrived for dinner, we were greeted and without knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by the theme. I having spent over a decade in the restaurant business, this instantly was gratifying to get a "roadside BBQ" feel to Seafood. It was a perfect marriage of service, ambiance, and seafood. You can tell Mia had a vision and the passion for food is clear. Can not wait to have dinner at their sister restaurant Primal!

My husband and I had the pleasure of eating from here and our dinner was amazing!! We had the Crab-cake dinner special for two with risotto, veggies, steamers and a salad. Mia and Joe were so friendly and we can’t wait to try their new location, Primal, in April.

This was our first dining experience at the Prawn. We were presently surprised with the relaxed, casual outdoor vibe. From the appetizer, the salad with the basil vinegrinette( so yummy), the main course they were all unbelievably delicious!!
We will definitely make this place our favorite in Cape May!! Can't wait to see what you do with the new place next year. Thank you

I ordered the Special for my wife’s Birthday!
My concern was that by the time I completed my 1/2 hr journey home my precious seafood feast would be cold.
The food arrived home hot to serve and was delicious 😋! Steamed to perfection
The only thing that could make this feast better would be substitute the Dungeness Crab with our Blue Claw In season to differentiate between East Coast and West Coast crab meat

The Best food hands down. We have eaten the dinner specials and did the New Years Eve package all are delicious. My fiancee picked the 9pm slot on New Years so they ran out of one item and substituted with something else in it's place and was just Awesome. The bread is great the food nice size portions, like the jumbo shrimp are real jumbo shrimp. The New Years Eve package fed four people and leftovers it was an Awesome site to see. We wish Prawn all the luck in the world so they become a staple of dining in cape may and we can keep enjoying the Great Food.

Wow!!!! After 6 weeks in Cape May I finally had ‘The Meal’
Absolute perfection in every way. Even in midst of a pandemic, Mia found a way to deliver mouth watering, delicious food in a not so normal manner.
Really was an amazing meal all around.
Buffalo cauliflower, mussels in white wine, blue crab claws, snow crab legs and the fried seafood combo platter= 100% satisfaction and put smiles on all 4 of our faces.
BYOB and they were more than happy to put our 3 bottles on ice while we dined.

I spent six weeks in Cape May for a consulting gig. The meals I had during that time weren't BAD, but I hadn't found a place that blew me away. A week before I was to come home to NYC, I found this place after a friend recommended it to me. I ordered takeout. I got the large portion of mussels in the white sauce (duh) and the bacon wrapped scallops. All I can say is that I was glad I got takeout, because OH MY GOD, the noises of satisfaction that came out of my mouth while eating were not appropriate for being in public. First of all, I was not expecting the mussels to be such a large portion size, and yes- I ATE THEM ALL. The scallops were cooked PERFECTLY, and I think the bacon was maple, so it gave this rich sweetness that complimented the scallops beautifully.
Anyway, I loved it so much I made a reservation for my goodbye dinner with a few close friends. We ordered EVERYTHING. The snow crab, the fried platter, the buffalo cauliflower (a MUST order if you’re dining there), the entree scallops, the mussels and a some sides as well. Chef Mia is so incredibly talented. When I tell you that everything. Every. Single. Thing. We ordered was just phenomenal! They even managed to make flounder (in the fried platter) to taste out of this world. Do you know how hard it is to make flounder stand out in your mind as something you'd order again at a restaurant??? My friends were all equally as blown away at how beautifully everything was cooked and how delicious it all was. I was so happy I got to have one last meal with my friends and that they were so pleased with this place. Chef Mia even came out to say hello and we all got to have a lovely chat with her about where she's been and where she's going. If I had to say ONE negative thing about Prawn (just to keep it real), it's that they need to get ice buckets for guests wine (it is BYOB) because that menu SCREAMS "drink COLD wine or champagne with ME!" DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE IN CAPE MAY!!!!!

Went here tonight and SO GLAD I DID! We got the prawn seafood fest and it is everything and more. The price is actually shocking for what you get on this, snow and dungeon crab legs, lobster, calms, mussels, shrimp, corn snd coleslaw. Everything was cooked to perfection. We got a side of Mac and cheese and- one of the best macs I’ve had in a long time. So cheesy and creamy. So good ! We went here on a rainy night and sat outside under a little roof but can’t wait to come on a nice night, you can tell they have a nice little set up. It’s byob and dog friendly and what else can you ask for! I can’t recommend this place enough honestly. Service was great too! One little thing I think I would add is to maybe have a choice of butters (garlic, Cajun, old bay). I’ve been batting zero trying to find a decent place in cape may, been to a couple restaurants and have felt let down with food and service, but prawn redeemed any doubt I had that you can get great food and great service at decent prices!
