Historic village open to the public all year long. Special events throughout the year. All of the older structures on site have been brought to the village to display. Some buildings of note are the country store, school house, the inn and the blacksmith shop. Ask for Levy, he’s a good ole horse that takes happy visitors around the village in a cute carriage. Great place to explore, have fun and get historical vibes.

Historic Cold Spring Village

This historic place is very interesting because the administration of the city of Cape May removed 18 houses from their original places with different representations such as a grocery store, bakery, ceramics, school, police station, carpentry shop, bars, among others, and placed them all within a historic center that it is open to visits. The city's care in preserving its history is very honorable. Congratulations

The hands down BEST beers in the area - blows other local breweries out of the water in terms of tastiness of beers. Also had a small but great food menu, which is always a plus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Everyone we encountered were very friendly and informative about the buildings and activities that went on during the time period. The kids had a great time running from house to house discovering new things. The ice cream and bakery were nice places to take a break and have a treat. Loved the general store too with souvenirs and handmade pieces from the volunteers that craft there.

So cute and adorable place to visit! Went there with my boyfriend today and it was lovely. I loved how into detail and accurate everything was at this place. I didn’t have a chance to go to the brewery, though, I wouldn’t change anything about todays visit! It’s amazing how much history is preserved here. I will definitely have to go back one day to check out everything else. I also was able to purchase an adorable basket that was handmade there by one of the girls who used to work there. Can’t wait to use it for one of my future picnics. You can use credit cards or cash to purchase anything there.

Loved this historical village. To get the most of the experience talk to the tradesmen and women. Don't forget to stop at the general store, they sell lots of vintage products, candies you haven't seen in a long time. Big bonus, they sell the products made the previous day by the tradespeople. Very cool. Handmade note books, handmade tools, pottery, etc.

Buy the family pass at the beginning of the season if you live anywhere close and have kids. They have so many themed weekends. My kids' favorite 2 weekends are Seafarers (pirate) weekend and Hands-on History weekend. (Pics from today's Seafarers)

Excellent informative guides explained how life was before the industrial revolution. Lovely tinsmithing demo. Ben Franklin explained his methods for electricity capture and release and ocean currents by way of whales eating plankton. Wow! What a great gem right here in the Cape May area. Loved the inn and the schoolhouse teacher chat as well. Will totally be back again soon! Thanks for a great day!

Always a great visit! Everyone was friendly and informative. We loved the dulcimer demonstration and lessons offered to the children. The animal caretaker was great as well and taught us all about the chickens, Levi the horse and the calves and pigs. We even got to pet one of the chickens!!! Ben Franklin with all of his inventions was amazing. Our brunch at the restaurant and ice cream in the village shop were delicious. Everyone was courteous and patient answering questions. Thanks for a great afternoon. Hope to see you again soon!

We love this local brewery. Pet friendly, delicious brews, indoor and outdoor seating, and perfect for arriving by bike path. Not Your Grandpappy's radler is my favorite, but they have a couple great IPAs too. Local hotdogs made most days just outside and brought inside to nibble while you get refreshed.

A blast from the past! Everyone here is dressed up in period costumes and will show you how they did traditional things like print books or make pottery. There are food places, stores and games to play. There are also farm animals. Older kids all the way to adults would love a chance to explore the historical re-enactments here. A literal village!

Well maintained with excellent interpretation, Historic Cold Spring Village is always a family favorite. The employees are informative and great at talking to the kiddos about history - the favorites this time were the school and the book binder. There are a bunch of activities if you're interested as well as places to get snacks. If you're into history, I highly recommend a visit

Very friendly and knowledgeable interpreters in a peaceful wooded village. Exhibits provide insights into home life and work in Cape May from the first settlers to the turn of the century.
