Whippoorwill Campground

Highly recommend staying here! The location is perfect, nice and close the shore but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The camp spots are a good size, easy to get in/out with a travel trailer. The facilities are nice and well taken care of. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

This was our first time using the campground with our 33ft RV trailer. Everything was simple and easy from check in to departure. We spent two weeks in mid July. Campsite was wooded with lots of room to setup. Restrooms, showers and pool area was well maintained and very quiet except when your pet walks by another and they are saying hello to each other. Campground is only 10 minutes from OCNJ. We will be booking again for our 2 week vaca next year very shortly. There is even a restaurant up at the pool area where you can breakfast, lunch or dinner. we had chicken fingers, fries, cheese steak and burgers-- good food

This campground is great by itself, but it's proximity to Ocean City makes it our favorite campground ever. Take the 34th street bridge and it's a 10 minute drive to the beach or 15 minute drive to the boardwalk. The campground feels tucked away and quiet with its wooded setting. After a day at the beach, it feels as if you are in the mountains only minutes later. And even though it feels isolated, there's a grocery store, convenience store, gas stations, and a pharmacy only minutes down the road without even having to drive across the bridge into town.

Your first impressions may be that the sign out front, the buildings, and the amenities buildings are a bit dated however they are impeccably maintained by their incredible staff. Every interaction with the staff was polite, professional, and warm. They truly have a sense of pride in their campground and it shows.

The campground is very wooded and it can be challenging maneuvering your rig through it however the staff is willing to help you get your camper into its spot. I've seen very large 5th wheels there so it's not impossible.

Every site is kept immaculate. Their crews clean and rake every site after someone checks out and they collect trash from every site daily so you don't have to drag it to a dumpster. We had a picnic bench collapse on us and they were there in under an hour to replace it.

Most of the campground is seasonal and consists of mostly park models that are well maintained and tastefully decorated. It's a great place to take the dog or the kids for a walk at night because most have decorative lighting and it feels like you're walking through a quaint little village. The pool is quite popular and has lifeguards. Although we haven't used it yet, it seems nice and maintained and there is a snack bar/restaurant attached. There is a large playground and dog park. Plenty of dog waste cans around the campground with bag dispensers.

Never had a bad experience with neighbors and everyone seems to stay relatively quiet and respectful of other campers.

Overall I can't recommend this campground enough and it's a perfect place to stay on its own and especially if you like Ocean City. Plus it's 1/4 of the price of staying in town. This year we rented a condo in town with the whole family for a week and we missed Whippoorwill so much that we went down the next month for a 4 day weekend. Nothing beats coming back to your own camper with your own bed and sitting out by the fire at night after a day on the beach or strolling the boardwalk.

Just booked our 5th July vacation at whipporwill! Can't wait. The cabins, staff, and pool are great. The bathrooms are nearly ALWAYS spotless, it always blows my mind how clean they keep them! The closeness to the beach is wonderful. Can not wait to go back this year!

First time out with our new camper and first time to this campground. Enjoying our time here. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere, firewood delivered to the site, friendly and courteous staff. Able to rest and unwind after a few busy weeks at work. Clean raked sites, everything we need. Haven't used the facilities yet, new travel trailer has it's own. Ocean City few miles away. Definitely a nice place to stay.

This campground was amazing! My wife and I enjoyed our stay and the friendly staff, and fellow campers. Originally we had a smaller site booked due to late planning. We also ended up a day late for check in due to car trouble. Upon arrival Kasey actually upgraded us to a larger site that accommodated our camper and tow vehicle much better than our originally booked site. The lot was super level and very large. The trees and plants around the site made for a very cozy nature experience. I definitely recommend this campground for anyone looking to stay near Ocean City. The campground was 10 to 15 minutes away from everything in Ocean City. There are a lot of hardware stores near by in the event that you need something for camp. There is a gas station a few miles up the road, and a few auto repair shops within 5 minutes of the campground.

Overall if we could give more stars if we could. We already plan to book for next year!

Very nice little campground. Love the atmosphere. The bathrooms were nice and very clean. The cabins were nice as well. The whole campground was very clean. Love that they deliver wood right to your site, as well as pick up trash from your site daily. The Staff was very nice. The camp store had a bunch of items and they were not bad prices. The pool was clean and had a lifeguard. The prices were good for the cabin we rented. The campsites were a good size. Love the proximity to Ocean city, as it is one of my favorite places to be. The campground was quite and family friendly. We plan on going back again.

We visited on August 6th and bought pool passes because my daughter wanted to swim for her birthday. We had the best time! The day lifeguards were so nice and even took my daughter's music requests. Usually we get a hotel for the night just to swim because we have a place in OC and the hotels are overpriced and have too many pool rules. This pool was so laid back and the snack bar food was delicious. This will be our new tradition

My family has been coming to Whippoorwill Campground for about 10 years. We started bringing a travel trailer just on weekends then loved this place so much we eventually bought a Park Model. The owners and staff are always friendly and do whatever they can to give us an excellent experience. Our neighbors have also become part of our extended family. We truly love it here and plan to stay for many years to come!

Fourth campground we've stayed in this summer. We are in one of the full hook-up sites behind the pool. Class A with slides on both sides just fits. Trees and bushes between sites are nice. Place is super clean and well run. Tested the bath house this morning and it was perfect.

Wooded and shady, with a large dog park and large clean pool, and 10 minutes to Ocean City! Lots of seasonal sites that were so beautifully landscaped and decorated, it gave us a very welcome and friendly atmosphere. We were there during week and it wasn’t very full which made it even nicer! Lots of kids. Mosquitos present too but to be expected.

Great staff! We'll maintained campground! Upper Township is rated very high. Close to beach & OC Boardwalk. Enjoyed our 15 years there.

A very wooded campground with plenty of activities and great location if you have family/friends staying in south Ocean City, NJ. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Site was very clean with abundant shade and sufficient distance from neighboring sites. Predominantly filled with permanent trailers, the park dedicated areas for tents and full-hookup RVs. Pool is large and in great condition. Only concern would be for large trailers - no pull-through sites means you have to back in while minding trees on both sides of the site. We camped at Whippoorwill Campground in a Motorhome.

Not a huge campground which is nice so you don't feel like you are in New York City with trees but quiet and perfect for families, lots and lots to do and well kept, owners are always around and friendly. It is nice to see that there are still family owned campgrounds where they actually make you feel like you are part of the family. Even though it was cold the week we were there, we got to visit Ocean City Beach which is very close. Definitely will come back, my kids want to experience the beach when they don't have to wear sweaters :-))

Whippoorwill Campground is a diamond at the shore! We are a family of six with two kids and two dogs and stayed for five nights. We loved every second at this beautiful location. The sites are shaded, the campground is very quiet, the residents are friendly and the staff is very accommodating. I have never seen a cleaner, more organized campground before staying at Whippoorwill Campground. While we stayed before all the amenities were opened due to COVID-19, when fully open, it has a lot to offer. Great programs at the Roost, arcade, playground, pool, grille and dog park. In addition to the activities at the campground, it is perfectly located to various fun at the Southern Jersey Shore. In less than 20 minutes you can be at Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May or Wildwood. We will definitely be going back!!

Home away from home 🏡 the best place and people 💕around. The only way I can describe this place is special. From everybody in the actual campground itself to every employee. Everyone is so friendly and nice.
I have traveled many places in this world and nothing seems to be more peaceful and at home when you're not at home than the whippoorwill campground. I call it the greatest place on Earth. Come experience some joy and happiness. 👍🇺🇲❤✌🏼✌🏿

I really enjoyed this campground. The mobile home was really nice and huge.
The pool was awesome. Bathroom was clean . wish they had more bathrooms and showers by the pool though.
Food and snack were very reasonably priced. Great friendly customer service.
Would definitely do this again.

This is the greatest Campground because it's right down the street from Ocean City. It's the closest campground I believe to Ocean City New Jersey. There is an olympic size pool and it's well-maintained. The whole place is clean and well cared for and the staff there are really nice. We have a park model and we've been there several years. I highly recommend this Campground.

Great place to stay on my road trip from Boston.
Pro:
- Bathroom are top quality (AC, free, clean, granite-like walls and counters)
- Very spacious tent site
- Just 30 minute drive to Atlantic City.
- Not crowded
Cons:
- Fire space could be nicer, but the ring did the job
- Noticed there were a lot of various spiders and ants eating food (from previous tenants?) on the ground near the grill
Comments to management:
- Clean out the site before next tenant moves in.
- Bathrooms are fabulous. Great job.

Great campground. Staff is super nice and friendly. Facilities are really clean and nice. Pool was great. Looking forward to going back next summer!
