Jumbo | Restaurant & Lounge

I was looking for a new Chinese place and jumbo did not disappoint. I called ahead. I will say the online menu could be presented better. But, the choices are great especially, the combo dinners. The food was really good. The Mongolian beef i had was spiced perfectly! The springs rolls tasted fresh and not that nasty old used grease flavor you can. Sometimes get. When i arrived my food was ready and it was hot. They were not that busy, but it was NYE. I wanted to play lotto for a min. So they kept my good warm for me . I went into the lounge. Its small but the bartender was so very nice. I saw her visiting with the patrons yet when i needed something she was immediately available. The service and the food were very good. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the dining area . I DOUBT you're getting the warm wet cloth treatment. But it appears clean. Its not park Avenue fine furnishings . Its more like your neighborhood stop and chow down! Prices were reasonable as well. I have tried a few other places near by and the food has been mediocre to bad. This food was great. This place is now "My" place for cantonese style Chinese food. I did notice on the menu they do sell some American food. Burgers, fries, etc...

Love this place 🖤 everything we've tried is really good. Staff is friendly all the time. Atmosphere reminds me of a 50s diner

Family and I were very last minute (35 minutes until closing), there was no other place open, and we were hungry. They took us in and fed us, beautiful service, however tired and long Monday they must have had. They brought out the amazing food, soups, appetizers, dinner, muy bien! I've never left a review before (not that I can recall), and I wanted to make a point with these folks. Great service, patient, kind, and gave with a smile. The least a person can do is show support and appreciation however one can. They have all my stars of thanks!

03/14/18: 4.5 out 5 - Jumbo Restaurant is a hole in the wall, tucked away Chinese restaurant off SE Johnson Creek that is surprisingly with tasty food and fast, friendly service to go with it.

Jumbo is nestled out of the way from the many food scene and mainstream restaurants. It's in an old brick building next to a laundry mat and heavy equipment rental building. I never thought to give it a second look. Well, to my surprise, my wife wanted to try it. So one day we did.

The food portions is plentiful for the price you pay. Everything is made fresh to order, and comes prepared the way you ask for it. Very tasty dishes!

The food servers are friendly and quite helpful in making suggestions based on what you are feeling to have.

If you ever find yourself near Jumbo stop in or order take out. Either way just try this place out once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

I ordered my Christmas dinner here and to say that they were busy would be an understatement. That being said, I was treated excellently and I thought that for the amount of people that were picking up orders and what appeared to be a dining room bill to capacity, the service was handled with Grace and I left wanting to come back for more. I had intended to take a photo of my food before I ate it, but it smelled so good and it tasted even better...so unfortunately I'll have to post a picture on my next trip. What a lovely gem of a place.

I came back and ordered take out while enjoying a beer in their lounge. The bartender was lovely, the food came quickly and was just as delicious as the last time. It was an exercise in restraint, but I snapped a couple of photos before I demolished my take out. 🤌🤌🤌

The food is always fresh, and the vegetables are cooked to perfection every single time we’ve ever ordered. My husband likes the Kung Pao Delight. We both love the house special fried rice with beef, chicken and shrimp. My favorite is the Three Ingredient Seafood stir fry that comes with scallops, shrimp and chicken. The bbq pork is good too. My biggest reason for the 5 stars is the freshness of the food. This little whole in the wall, walk up window serves good stuff! I’m picky, very picky. Just ask my husband. We’ve ordered here about 10 times now, and have never been disappointed.

this place is so tasty, every item I've had I loved. doing family style is definitely worth it, getting four appetizer samples along with an entree & soup. HIGHLY recommend the noodles (lo mein), orange, honey, sweet & sour chicken, Mongolian beef, and more I can't remember right now. only thing I probably won't get again would be their lemon chicken, a bit too much lemon for me, but still tasty chicken!!

this is my favorite spot to get delicious Chinese food, with the most delicious hot and sour soup and all the fried entrees always perfectly crispy and fried to perfection. The inside is newly remodeled and very cozy and cute looking. Large portions, excellent flavors, and very kind service. I have lived in Portland for over 8 years and have tried many spots for Chinese, but this is my favorite of all.

Over a year of monthly takeout orders from here and EVERYTHING has been perfect. Singapore Chow Mein is my favorite, and Mongolian Chicken for my partner.

It's a Asian restaurant and they serve huge portions, well worth the money.

YUMMY!! OMG! I ordered the Orange Chicken and Wonton soup. BEST wontons I've ever eaten. Orange Chx is delicious too. :)

Best Chinese food I've found since leaving the east coast, try them out

I've been to a lot of Chinese bars -- and I mean a lot. Probably over half of the ones in the state of Oregon. And this spot has a) some of the friendliest folks, and b) the best combo dinner anywhere (the #8).

Classic place with booths and diner bar seats in the restaurant. On the bar side, it's a small spot. I've chilled at tables in silence before, but I've also met some of the nicest regulars and randos (and bartenders) anywhere while hanging at the bar. Don't be afraid to grab a seat right squeezed between everyone. Sit down and give it a little time, and you'll meet some great folks.

Always a great meal here! Quick service, fresh food and many choices.

Absolutely amazing food, great service and large portions

Jumbo is my go to Chinese food restaurant that's close to me. I can't really rate on service or atmosphere because I always get my food to go.
I do like others that are downtown and in beaverton but as far as SE portland area you can't go wrong.

I only ordered for delivery, the house special fried rice and the mandarin chicken.

Holy smokes. I am glad I got it!! I used to ride my bike by here every day on my work commute and have wanted to try it. :) i am happy to say this is now gonna be my go-to place for comfort food. Excited to try all their stuff!!

Very delicious food the vegetable fried rice had flavor. The eggplant dish was delicious and sides dishes are yummy as well. The owners were very nice and made sure to check in with us. We will be back!!

Jumbo has always been our go to for take out. They also basically know me by name and order now.

The food is always hot and delicious. Dining in is also fairly pleasant and the staff Is always attentive. They also give great portion sizes.
