St Mary's Roman Catholic Church

I was baptized at St Mary's then received
My first communion n confirmation n then went to St Mary's Catholic School from grades 4 thru 8th. Names like
Father Griffey n Ms.Gertrude Evan's n
Sister Miriam Gervase (our Mother
Superior) we had school uniforms of
Blue pants, white shirts, with a blue tie
Embrored with an SMS on the tie. I was
An Alter Boy and served many Sunday
Masses plus occasionally a Wedding or even Funerals. I then went to public Salem High School and graduated in
1962. Our Parish was made up of many
Nationalities Polish n Irish n German etc.
The church is presently closed by the
Diocese of Camden. Although they are
Weddings and occasional funerals performed by visiting priests. I'm told
There is currently a scheduled 8am
Sunday Mass again with a visiting
Priest officiating!

Beautiful. Nice parish house next store. I am Roman catholic. This is poorest city in nj. Diocese needs to open
