The Old '76 House

This historic restaurant has a fantastic burger👌 the Cesar salad and cocktails were also great! The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. The staff was attentive. Would totally visit again

A must eat if you are in the area. The place opens at noon. If you are going to eat there later you might need a reservation because they get busy according to the receptionist. The welcoming door greater Hudson was awesome. The look and service were awesome. Everyone there was friendly and very inviting. We had the fish and chips, and it was great. One of those places you wish the walls could talk. I wish they sold their t-shirts they were wearing or magnets and stuff. We waited about 1/2 before they opened and walked around the block looking at the old shops and houses. Plenty of parking a must place to stop and eat.

Historic restaurant. Food is excellent. The mussels are amazing. I had an excellent pork chop here as well. Incredible butternut squash soup. They have live music and small bar. different rooms for parties or larger groups and outdoor seating as well.
Owner is there to greet you. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The Old '76 House has a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and wooden floor that creates a warm and inviting feel. The live soft music adds to the calm atmosphere, which is perfect for brunch. The service is good, and the prices are fair (be aware though: there is an extra fee if you pay by credit card). I went there for brunch and had a good time. The onion soup was nice and smooth with great flavors. The steak and eggs and potatoes were tender and juicy. Lastly, the Belgian waffle was superb, not too sweet with nice whipped cream and fruit on top. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch experience.

Great food and a serious historical location. Chateaubriand was top notch. Dessert torte was likewise excellent. Staff was friendly. My only complaint was the live music was too loud. I'm a musician and would never have my levels that high. Was difficult to have a conversation.

Kind staff, nice atmosphere, food was good. Chicken was not cooked amazingly, but the rest of the meal was excellent.

We had our rehearsal dinner at 76 House of few weeks back and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you to the entire staff and Elisa for making our evening perfect. We hosted our families ( about 30 of us ) in the corner room with the blue and white fireplace. All the out of towner's and some of the locals who hadn't been in a while fell in love with the history and the food. And the live music was great! Whether you're having a casual dinner for two or your entire family the 76 House is a great place to spend the evening. Thank you all!

It was a great experience, while enjoying my three courses meal. That kind of feeling brings back the moments when President George Washington having his lunch here and not to miss out history been made here.

Gratitude to the owner's. Preserving the structural in good a way and the meals I had was deliciously cooked. I'll will keep this wonderful memories till I alive.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at the 76 house! The staff and our server Jessie treated us like family and were extremely kind. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the steak, scallops, and especially the thanksgiving egg rolls. I will definitely be returning and was so impressed with the experience. Thank you again to the staff!!

Excellent food and nice little historic place to visit and experience! The lamb and the pork chop was great! I really liked how the baked potato came out with the slices in it torched? It made it crispy on the edge yet it was a mashed/baked potato.
Oh the live music is great to have too!

Very cool place with a great history. Small menu and a bit pricey but the food was very good. We ordered the Fish and chips and the Grilled Flatbread...both worth it. The town also has lots of history and worth exploring if you have time. Service was great and friendly!

We were in town [from Indiana] for a wedding that weekend, and Googled "Places to eat near me." As soon as we saw "The Old 76 House", and read a bit of the history, we new we had to go... It didn't disappoint!

As soon as we walked in we saw their greeter (I'll leave that as a surprise), and the warmth and ambience drew us in. We were stationed in England ,twice ('97-2000, &' 03-,07), and "The Old '76 House"'s fish and chips was better than any we'd ever had...hands down!

Absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

This was an enjoyable experience. The menu was a real delight and our food came out quick and extremely tasty.
My only issue was in the evenings there are live bands, I'm not adverse to this but found it to be too loud. But others around were enjoying it hence I still rate it as 5 starts. I think my next visit will be in the daytime so I can enjoy the history and look around a bit more. Well worth a visit

Just enjoyed a phenomenal lunch here with friends! Requested to change our table & the request was obliged easily. Delicious food & service was fabulous (thank you Lori)! If you're a history buff (even if you're not), the building is extraordinary! We'll all be back!

I absolutely love and enjoyed when i visited The old 76 House has a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace food and the menu is so exciting! food is outstanding! Server was incredible. Incredibly personable, helpful, and made the whole experience an amazing .

Went on June 19th for a wedding. What a wonderful experience! The waitresses couldn't be friendlier and more attentive even though we were.a.pretty big party. There were lots of interesting decorations to look at and the food was delicious! I had chicken cordon Bleu and tasted the chateau random which was cooked to perfection ! We want to come back for a regular night and definitely will !

It has been a while since we found an incredible restaurant but tonight the wife knocked it out of the park with her date night choice. Affordable too! We ate like royalty!

We will DEFINITELY be back! This is our new #1 choice!

It’s affordable too for a fancy meal (casual attire) date night! Plus a great live band that still allowed you to have a conversation without yelling; I’m so blown away still!

What a cool place. I love that they have kept all the history of the area alive here! The staff were all friendly, and the music was awesome!

While it's out of way, find it. It's worth it. The owner is very passionate about his place and its history. Ask for him and enjoy the love. Sadly, we ate a late lunch and only had dessert, which was phenomenal. A definite and a must stop on your travels.
