Powell Villa Ace Hardware

Great hardware store. Better quality items than the big box stores. Awesome variety of hardware items. Reasonably priced and again, much better quality than the other 2 major box stores in our area. I have been a contractor for over 40 years and trust me when I say that the staff is much more knowledgeable, and offers a higher level of customer service. The store is well stocked, clean and bright. I do a lot of work on the east side of Portland and visit the 122nd and Powell location often. They have never let me down. To be quite honest, they generally have the items I need that the big box stores won't have. Shopping at this location offers better parking, less chaos, and a higher level of service from the staff.

Ace seems to be the place for me. They usually have what I need just keep an eye on your car and everything else you own. This is in Gresham or close enough that you're not sure what's going to get ripped off next you or the store

This place is great ! The owner helped me personally. He took me through the store to help me find what I needed. He helped me get the right part and returned what I had purchased that was not needed. Great customer service . I will definitely recommend Ace Hardware on 122nd and Powell Blvd. Across from the Safeway on 122nd off of Powell Blvd.

Great atmosphere, always helpful and knowledgeable about what's in stock and what I need if I need help.

I never meant to be a difficult customer, but I came in looking for paint and they just didn't have the stock to take care of my needs. I mean, can you blame them? Stock is hard to get. However, they made such a valiant effort to take care of me and my project. The Person in charge, Teresa was so helpful along with the entire crew. I would have never expected to be taken care of so well. The best thing I know to do is to continue giving them my business and leave them a review

My neighborhood Ace hardware store just made a life customer of me!! Good customer service is extremely hard to find nowadays, but excellent customer service ... the kind of customer service that makes a customer want to stay a customer ... is literally impossible to find. But that was disproven today, by the great folks at my local Ace hardware store on SOUTHEAST 122ND AVENUE, IN PORTLAND, OREGON!

I bought a propane tank at this Ace store and after using it for just a couple of months, it became defective following a refill I got somewhere else. It started leaking, and so I needed a new one. I use the propane to run my hot water heater and I was without water since last night and it's cold outside. Feeling frustrated that I had a propane tank full of fuel but non-functioning, I hoped the good folks at Ace hardware would simply exchange my full, broken tank, with a full, and functioning tank, AND THEY DID!! They were kind and they listened to my experience, and although it's not their policy to accept broken propane tanks that they sell there, once they've been refilled for some reason, they made an exception for me and I really appreciate it!! I will definitely be going back to this store.

Since moving to this particular neighborhood a year ago, I have chosen many times to go to the Ace Hardware store rather than to the big box hardware store which is located closer to my house than ACE. And the reason why, is because of this type of customer service that I know I would NEVER get at a big box store. I pleaded my case with my local neighborhood Ace, having full faith that they were reasonable kind people, and I'm a frequent customer in there.

So thank you everyone at the Ace hardware store on SOUTHEAST 122nd for being kind to me. If you've never watched the video called "Give them the pickle," you should. This is what the folks at Ace did for me ... They gave ME the pickle.

This place RULES. Quite honestly, for a smaller then say there other option-a certain "big box" home improvement/hardware store(if ya dont know whom I'm speaking of you live under a rock) this place is not only quite impressingly stocked, but also if there is something you need that they might not have, chances are the amazing employees and/or owners who also work right alongside their employees, will make it happen and get it for you. I have been going to this particular Ace since initially moving into the surrounding neighborhood approx. 5 years ago. I moved away for two full years, but recently moved back into to my old residence and made a trip back in and was so happily blown away after not only seeing the selection/inventory was still spot in but that I was also greeted warmly and remembered as if no time had even passed. I wish I could have felt the same cheerfulness about the neighborhood I came back to or the Safeway just a stone's throw directly across S.E. 122nd. (@Powell) I thank the owners for running one hell of a solid business while also still keeping the family owned and personally welcoming feel to this business. in this neighborhood. This thankfully being something that's had drastically changed in this area's landscape. The changes that were very obvious and that had had visually horrific effects on several things here. Some change in time is good, but the changes I speak of have not been beneficial to this area. Things were due to some factors, and again, not all great. The first, PDX's early millennium gentrificational and the resulting residents, mainly minorities, and their displacement to this area,. this changed not only change outer SE's demographic and median income, but also it's amount of house less population that from first hand seeing it for myself and in just a comparison from jut 2 years ago to now. God bless the local family hardware store. Always friendly, helpful and pleasant. I feel better with every dollar i spend there and deny Home Depot.

Cannot say enough good things about this business. My house is literally standing in great condition because of their help. Great selection of merchandise even fun soap & organic candles. They have so many things the older houses in the neighborhood need that Home Depot has never heard of, the staff is just wonderful. I always enjoy going there. You can ask questions, and learn things.

We love the staff here and the selection. It's your good old-fashioned hardware store that's been here for years and if you become a regular the store personnel will recognize you and are all very nice folks.

The store manager there is a real gem. Quality human being.

Large neighborhood hardware store. It has most a anything you need except lumber.

Great place! I worked at a different Ace awhile ago and there's no replacement for a really knowledgeable, seasoned hardware store employee. This place has a really knowledgeable staff and they are very aware of their customers and wait time. I think I waited less than 5 minutes in the fastener aisle before they called someone else over to help me. Even when they're busy I notice a lot of staff on the floor and I've never had any problems getting help here. I must have spoken to four people at least last time I was here and every one of them was great and did more than I expected to help me out. And truth be told I was a bit of a hassle at times due to my disorganization but no one acted bothered. Super grateful to be around the corner from this place!

I hope this place sticks around. It's definitely more pricey than HD or Lowes a much more pleasant experience for small items. Staff is good. Nice things tend to disappear in East Portland

Stopped to get 1 router bit, found it and then purchased 4 additional items I needed, but had to add to my tools kits then went on to the job site. Found what I needed, have help from well informed and friendly staff.

Top of the line service! Great prices! The people working there care about their customers, they are friendly, helpful & I will always shop there before the big stores. Home town feel! Thank you!!

This is what I feel a hardware store should feel like. There are helpful staff who can help you to find what you need to build it repair projects in your home. I don't have to search past all the "contractor grade" materials or an overwhelming assortment of tools. They have just what the basic handyperson needs.

I haven't been to any other Ace locations, but this one is great and fun to go to. Excellent prices on spray paint, a vast variety of screws, washers, fittings, etc. You can pick out yourself so that you have exactly the number you need. Very good place for garden, home and even pet.

Friendly and helpful staff. Feels more like a Ma and Pa store to me because they're personable and genuine. It's always clean and organized. You can also find some good deals. The coupons they mail to you can help even more.

This place exemplifies customer service. I could remember countless times I've been there where the staff had gone way out of their way to help me. Once, I needed to replace some screws for a wheelchair and the staff went ahead and installed it in the wheelchair. When I left, I had a fully functioning wheelchair. How awesome is that. That's only one example. They also have such a wide variety of stuff yet I don't have to search for parking and walk a far distance just to pick up one thing.
