This is the second dog we have adopted from CCDS and we couldn’t be more happy. Samuel Beans is the light of our lives! He is the sweetest, most well behaved little guy. I am so thankful that the technician directed our attention towards him rather than the extremely excited kelpie - Samuel Beans fits our lifestyle so well and I am so thankful that the technician recognized he would be a great fit for us. Literally BOTH dogs we have gotten from here have been SO sweet and so gentle and so loving and both times it was because the technicians took time to listen to us and our lifestyles and help us pick the perfect family member. Thank you!!! ♥

Brenda was friendly, courteous, and helpful. She kindly helped us to renew Annie’s license and get a replacement for a lost tag. Brenda efficiently and quickly processed the paperwork and we were out within minutes. Thank you Brenda for your great customer service!

I have adopted 2 dogs from Clackamas county and have been very happy with my adoptions. They care about the dogs they have and make sure they are going to good homes with their adoption counselors. My last dog adoption was Clarissa and they had her for 6 months taking care of her and bringing her back to health and she is now an awesome dog that's enjoying life on earth. Keep up the great work all the employees and volunteers do there!

I filled out a application for a dog they posted on their web site. The next day they called me and set up a viewing on the dog, and to see if the dog and my chihuahua will get along. We met the dog we were interested in, the 2 dogs got along, we took both dogs for a walk in their back yard. They approved of us in getting the dog. Very nice workers, the dog kennel where they keep all the dogs is very clean. They have the dogs shots up to date, they spay and neuter the dogs, and they have a ID put under the dogs skin before they leave the kennel. They gave us a dog bed, blanket, a bag of dog toys, treats to take home for our new dog. They called us 2 months later to see how the dog is doing and if there is any bad habits that they can help us with. Very nice place to get a dog from. When in time I am wanting another dog, this is the place I'm going to.

Just brought in a very sad case. I brought in a very neglected and wounded dog. Very caring staff greeted me at the entry and brought her directly in to see the vet. I just saw her picture and she is resting very comfortably and two pads. Genuine concern. Gratitude.

Adopted our awesome senior gal here. They really care about the animals. They were fair in trying to match us with a dog, without being judgmental. Working at a shelter you have to make some hard decisions but it was abundantly clear the staff really try their damnedest to do right by the dogs with the resources they have. The dog we got had been spayed there, received great after-care and was so attached to the staff she tried to jump out of my trunk to follow her handler the day we brought her home. She is now happy and healthy and part of our family forever!

I've adopted 5 dogs from Clackamas Dog Services over the last 10 years (some were quite old) and I've dealt with them a lot. Overall they are great, concerned about finding a good fit and as knowledgeable as they can be about dogs that come in with little to no history. The most recent addition from last October got excellent medical care before being adopted out.
My favorite shelter!

The staff is so warm and caring, our last rescue we adopted from them was so well taken care of, he had been there 3 separate times, and we were able to adopt him until he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Highly recommend!

I am totally happy with our experience at Clackamas County Dog Control. The staff are so helpful with everything from licensing to adopting. I am so grateful to them for my Maxie, a Staffordshire bull terrier. She is a true family member and has relieved my anxiety so much. We took in a donation and Maxie was greeted with love and remembered her staff with kisses and love. She was quite spoiled. Thank all of you again for my baby.

I see this place two mornings a week from behind the scenes before it's open to the public while volunteering as a potty walker. I'm in my fourth year now and can attest that the staff has always been uniformly caring and affectionate and the facility is very clean.

Took my dog when no one else would, even the Oregon Humane society, cost a bit of money, which was tough cause it was the reason I had to surrender my dog because I had been laid off and couldn't afford his expensive medication anymore.
