Am glad I decided to go back after a sub par 1st experience.

I recommend going to Doc (and avoiding the other older gentleman, can't speak for the lady).

Received one of the most detailed and careful haircuts. Doc took his time. One of the best haircuts I've had.

Marg did an amazing job at cutting my hair❤ I came to cut my long hair that I had not cut short/in layers ever! So I was nervous but Marg was super helpful/comforting. She cut it short first to see what I thought and then cut the layers. 10/10 experience with her, she was so nice!

Very reasonably priced (especially compared to the salon on campus), and staff is so friendly and skilled! I came in to trim my bangs, and she made sure that the length was perfect several times so that they were not too long or too short. I also requested that she cut my hair dry since it is very wavy and she did a great job, and my hair is pretty difficult for most professionals. Also cut my hair even though I got there a little before opening which was very kind. Will be returning!

Been going to Doc since he had his spot in Grand Center. Consistently good cuts and conversation. Doc does a great job of giving you what you ask for, especially if you can bring a couple pictures. He takes his time and makes sure everything is perfect. Best to make an appointment.

I don't know who these other idiots leaving bad reviews are, but this place is my go-to haircut spot. I have NEVER gotten bad service or a bad cut. I'd go so far as to say A Cut Above has given me the best haircuts I've ever gotten in my nearly 40 years.

Rich (Doc) is my man! He used to run Salon Edge off Washington by Grand Center and that's when I met him. He helped me update my haircut and bring a new style to my daily life which was really needed. I absolutely love going over to the U City location off Big Bend to hang out with him and get a cut. Always good conversation and he really listens to what you want (I'm a guy so I don't know how to describe what I want in a hair cut that well) and he'll style and texture your flow! Doc is the man!

Awesome experience. I searched and searched for a Salon that would roller set my hair. Ms. Marge took a last minute appointment and I love my hair. This place is fantastic, has reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere & overall great customer service.
