I knew of this park, have driven by it but had never walked through it. WOW. I walked my dogs here on December 1st and it was really peaceful. Lots of big old trees of all sorts not just oaks but also cypress i think, sycamores and ginkgos. There is a sunken pond area with a bridge across it and ducks and swans swimming around. Also didnt realize the history which the park has a few metal posts with some written history on them. I dont have kinds but was pretty impressed with the playground layout that was there. Also the houses in the neighborhood surrounding the park are beautiful to look at with some amazing architecture that you wont find in modern day subdivisions.

Lafayette Park in St. Louis offers a serene escape into nature with ample opportunities for hiking and connecting with the outdoors. The abundance of ginkgo biloba trees adds a unique touch, allowing visitors to collect the fascinating and vibrant ginkgo fruit. The hiking trails are well-maintained, providing a delightful blend of tranquility and natural beauty for a rejuvenating experience. The park's peaceful ambiance and botanical offerings make it a delightful destination for those seeking a peaceful respite in the heart of the city.

Another St. Louis gem. If you haven’t visited you must go. Take a nice walk around the park then have coffee/breakfast/lunch in Lafayette Square! As a photographer, Lafayette Park is always on my list as a location for family, engagement, and wedding photos.

Gorgeous park! We love to come here and walk, usually with an ice cream cone from Clementine‘s. The fountains and water features are beautiful and the landscaping is very pretty. The park is always clean. The playground is big with lots of nearby benches and picnic tables. There are clearings for picnics and kite flying.

Lafayette Park has been in St. Louis for a very long time. This park is the quintessential being of St. Louis and her history. The homes around in the park are absolutely stunning in their French design. Cannot help but have your mouth open as you’re walking around at their wondrous beauty. There’s a couple great restaurants and bars around the area as well. Truly a great place.

A gorgeous, historic park in a beautiful neighborhood. We got a condo nearby for a weekend St. Louis trip, and stopped by for an afternoon walk. It was mid fall and the trees were gorgeous. Several others were out having photo shoots as it was ideal scenery. Nice water features. Several little spots to touch on the history of this park. I'm so glad we stopped by, you will be also.

This park was better than we expected. Beautiful grounds with paved trails throughout. At the time we visited all the buildings were closed due to Corid-19. The pond was cool, a couple statues and an old unique building in the park. Also, the homes around the park are amazing.

The park was really good and pretty big. Lot of place to walk or jog inside.
The grasses were a bit tall.
Parking was available near main entrance. Restroom was open and usable.
We carried chairs and a table to have picnic, overall nice.

The oldest planned parked west of the Mississippi. The walk around the park bordered by Lafayette, Mississippi, Park and Missouri Avenues showcases some of the most spectacular architecture in the city. The water in the center of the park is teeming with ducks and swans. The grotto is my favorite area with a bridge and the ability to walk around a smaller pond. The foliage is beautiful in the fall. The sculpture of Thomas Hart Benton, a leading proponent of westward expansion, and one of Missouri's inaugural senators is also located here.

I love this park: Lafayette Park. It's nestled in a great south city neighborhood. It's great for families and for walking the doggies. There's old history here and statues as well as a lake with geese and swans. Beautiful place that you have to visit.

Lafayette Park is smack dab in the middle of a very nice neighborhood and can be a quiet place to hang out! There is a coffee shop right down the street too for those that need a pick-me-up.

It's also a gem for photographers! You can get that rustic vibe with the buildings and bridge over the water, or you can get creative with it and try to get refections with the swans in the background. You are also able to rent the pavilion for your wedding or event as well!

This park is AMAZING. It's a GEM in the city of St. Louis. I've been coming here since I was a kid and will continue to come when I visit St. Louis. It's very open and shaded by tall trees. There's also a lot of historical monuments and benches to rest.

Beautiful Victorian park, great for a quiet walk under the trees. You’ll see lots of locals jogging and walking their dogs. There is a large fountain pond in the middle with ducks and swans and places to sit. The park has a large statue, made by Harriet Hosmer (a noted woman sculpture of the 1800s), of Thomas Hart Benton, one of Missouri’s first and longest-serving Senators, who lost his seat after denouncing slavery (after having been a slaveowner himself). The park is a perfect square mile so a walk around the sides is a good way to get a mile of exercise in. There is a coffee shop (Park Avenue Coffee) by the northeast corner.

Such a beautiful and historic park that we love showing off on our trikke three-wheel vehicles during our Soulard & Lafayette Square tour ... so much history in the birth of St Louis runs right through this area
