McNary Beach Recreation Area

Went in January and it was so beautiful to see during night with snow! Drive safe because of road conditions and icing

I actually used this area as a starting point to walk to Hat Rock St. Park. There is a walking trail from here to Hat Rock. It's 5 miles or so to Hat Rock and 5 or so back. The walk is easy on a great paved path. It follows the river and the views are great. I have camped at Hat Rock plenty of times and done this walk from HR to McNary and then gone back to camp. It is every bit of the 10 miles out and back no matter which side you start at. It's a great day walk if you start at McNary. You can hang out in the park and have a picnic before you leave. If you start at Hat Rock you can camp when you get back. Hat Rock is small but it is a state park. Just check in at the main store. They have tent and rv sites, bathrooms,showers, laundry and a store where you can buy food etc. This is a great trail for a family. No elevation and paved.

A nice well maintained recreational area with picnic tables that offers beautiful views of the Columbia River.

It it’s a really beautiful place . It’s like a beautiful little beach. It is very quiet. Me and my family enjoyed it I highly recommend you come and check it out it is totally worth it

Historic beach of Lewis and Clark had trailed through. Tranquility and soothing for a calm rejuvenation.

Great place to take the family. Lots of parking, picnic benches, grills, and sandy beach area.

Water is shallow for a good distance perfect for kids to play picnic area is always shade water is always sun

I absolutely LOVE this area!! It's nice and quiet and the water is great. Lovely family setting for parties and whatnot... Oh! Did I mention the sunsets?! 🥰😀 TO DIE FOR!!!

Neet little place on this particular day there was plenty of space available, unlike the last time when it was overflowing. Being honest here, I hope you have an appreciation for multi cultural music and behavior I just leave it at that.

I'm from out of state n never seen black sand before so amazing rite there not to mention rite by lewis n clark trails

Best river beach found in North America

Of course is the Columbia River the water is calm and peaceful the beach is always clean and nice the park is well kept, toys out there for the kids to play on BBQ grills so all you need to do is bring the coals and the food. you can play music out there the parking lot has plenty of spaces it's just a good family time all around

One beautiful beach to watch the sunset

Nice large park with water access for fishing or swimming. Great for large parties and big groups of people. Huge hill you can roll down, slip n slide or ice blocks. A few smaller covered areas without electricity and a kids play area.

Came to bird watch...pic is of road that leads towards grain silos so you're not on 'authorized personnel' trail above. Go the opposite direction and there is a nice beach and walking trail that follows the lake contour.

Great playground and beach area. There's a medium sized playground, a huge slope down to the river, a beach area that is enclosed by netting, a gazebo and picnic tables. Very nice area.

However there isn't a flat area to play sports.

I really liked this area mostly because it's kinda tucked back by itself and every time I went I was the only one there it's clean and has a playground good area for dogs like it alot
