Hawaiian Time

This is an eatery I have frequented often for over the last 17 years.. usually Eugene or here in Salem. The food is always fantastic and the flavor is addictive 😋. I usually order the Huli Huli chicken 🐔 meal Ali'i. It's so so so good... I tend to over stuff my big self... mentally I'm like I can't waste even a few bites left in the container. The service is always friendly here in Salem off 23rd st. They are quicker than most places, and it is super fresh. Get it and get fed well Jesus loves you! Man can not live by Hawaiian time alone 😉

Absolutely love the chicken! Came just before lunch and the service was super quick. Prices are on par with other similar restaurants. You get to choose your portion size which is great! Will be visiting next time I visit Salem for work.

Mmmmm the Mauna Loa Chicken is delicious. Chicken is tender, sauce is perfect. The Mac salad is surprisingly flavorful; I think there’s a good helping of black pepper in there! I am totally going here again next time I’m in Salem. Huge dining area inside. Service was friendly. I got the small portion and regret not getting more hahaha.

I love the Huli Huli Chicken! It was cooked perfectly, tender, and juicy Chicken with just the right amount of seasoning! I definitely recommend giving it a try. I will be back the next time I am in Salem!

This place is great. They have 3 sizes for each protein that all come with rice and a particularly good macaroni salad. If you want a snack or a proverbial Pile. They've got you covered. I prefer their mauna loa chicken. Extra spicy costs a dollar extra.

Place is chill 😎 food is dank, it's not spicy to me but omg such great flavor 10 outa 10 I highly recommend 😋 👌🏽 chef kisses to them...

I’ve had huli huli chicken in Hawaii, at home and couple other places and there is always something wrong with either the chicken or the rice or the Mac salad. I gave this place a 5 star bcuz not only the chicken was tasty, the rice and Mac salad was cooked to perfection! I normally find the chicken and rice to be good or a combo of Mac and chicken but never 3 combos! The chicken was soft and cooked to perfection. There is enough amount of spices that this chicken was so delicious to bite on. There are other places that chicken is either too salty or not enough salt or too much sauce. I admit I do not like Mac salad but this one, I can eat it all day. The pasta was soft enough, enough creaminess to it, salt and pepper are distributed really well. I mean it was absolutely fantastic! The rice…wow! I’m Asian and rice is important to me and this rice…I need to know where they got it 😂 A MUST place to go! I don’t like Salem but for this food…I will go weekly! And I lived an hour away from this place! Come early cuz the wait was fairly long! But it is so worth the time!

Went in to get the Mac salad. Bomb as usual. The employees were all nice as well. Including this nice lady on her break, answering a question of mine when she didn't even have to.

Just went went in to the 23rd st location and the staff especially the guy behind the register was great, friendly and really professional. Food is great as well.

It's delicious and affordable and the staff is always super friendly and they are decently quick with getting your orders out!

Food was hot, and delicious. Mac pasta salad tasted a little different but was still good. Wish they had the large grain salt to go with the pork like other places do. Parking is a little tight, but there's a lot across the street too.

I've only been to this particular location once before the new hours situation. Right now, if i remember correctly -- they're only open 11am-3pm, 6 days a week. Haven't had a chance to come in. Before that, they were open late, and had excellent service. Nice people, and AMAZING food ready very quickly. I don't know what's going on with the hours, but I hope everyone involved is okay. To the workers, if you see this -- take it easy on yourselves. You're human. Just do what you can. And thank you for what you do!

We have loved zipping over to this location for good quick affordable food. But lately...

We've been disappointed. Dry pork. An overload of rice. It hasn't been as good as it used to be.

We're bummed.

Really love Hawaiian Time, but they keep reducing their hours, menu, and drivethrough, so it makes me nervous if they stay open. Always great service and quality of food.

Great food, good portions, stick to chicken or pork. I got my meal no rice sub lettuce medium spicy Mauna Loa, never disappoints

I mean, what is there to say that hasn't already been said in the other (numerous) 5-star reviews? I've been here several times, and have tried most of the meats and sides. All the meats are phenomenal, you really can't pick the wrong one. The rice is always cooked perfectly, and the best part is the bottom that soaks up the sauce and meat juices(🤤). They have a case full of goodies as well, including musubi, manapua(which are both amazing). The pineapple upside down cake is also just incredible. It's moist, delicious yellow cake with a crunchy layer of decadently sweet pineapple and cherries and (I think) brown sugar on top. Seriously, just go here and find out for yourself.

The best teriyaki chicken, hulihuli! But I noticed that the portions are smaller now compared to a year or two ago - inflation?
