I had the pleasure of visiting the Merrillville branch today, to see if they had a cord for my power recliner n that had been destroyed while moving. I did not get the recliner from Walter E Smithe at all, but they were still willing to help. There is a young lady named Debbie, who went above and beyond to assist me completely with follow up included. She is truly an asset to the organization and I would like to personally say Thank you! What a great team!

My furniture dropoff was stress-free & I was VERY impressed that the delivery staff were so careful and attentive. They were very careful when moving the items. There was a factory defect with one of the items and Cory from Corporate contacted me IN ADVANCE and we put an exchange plan in place that I am happy with. It was not Walter E. Smith's fault and I was satisfied that they were proactive in informing me rather than trying to sell anything faulty. The communication has been superb. I would order from this store again. Cory has been AMAZING to work with! Happy Customer! A++ I will be back!!

My wife and I stopped in looking to furnish a new room addition and the attention (warm, friendly, no pressure) we received from Sunnie and the store manager Kip, was above and beyond. The whole experience was surreal as compared to the 3 other furniture stores we were in. We absolutely recommend stopping in and chatting with Sunni about your needs!

My wife and I were looking for a new couch/sectional and Arielle was wonderful to work with. She didnt apply pressure
sales tactics. She gave us time to walk around the showroom floor, she made us coffee,... In short, Arielle was basically awesome and made us secure in our purchase of a couch that is coming from the showroom floor not the warehouse. She was a delight and has a keen eye for style !

My wife and I had a great experience shopping for living room furniture at the Merrillville location. Jewels was a tremendous help. She listened to our situation and showed us the pieces that fit what we were looking for. She used a computer program to show us how the pieces would look in our house with the actual dimensions. All her advice really helped us design the space the way we liked. My wife is super happy how it turned out. And the delivery team was extremely polite and timely.

My husband and I worked with Julie P., she was wonderful throughout the whole process! She helped by designing our rooms for us, came out to measure everything, and then picked out every piece to show us! We couldn't have asked for anything better, she really listened to our details about what we wanted and did a terrific job! I highly recommend going to see her to help out with your dream room!

We worked with Michelle R. From Walter E Smith about 2 1/2 years ago when buying some furniture for our new downsized home. She was a delight to work with during that time. Her ideas, her ability to listen to our needs and wants, and arrive at the design feel we were looking for was incredible. Recently we decided to add a few new items, and we chose to return to Walter E. Smith, and sought Michelle’ s insight and talent again. She has been great. With her help, we made a long and short term plan. Once again, we were extremely pleased working with Michelle. Walter E. Smith has been phenomenal assisting us with questions about care of the furniture, and quickly responded to any concerns we have had. Their service and guarantee of the items we purchased were what we had hoped for and more. A great designer and Walter E. Smith, are why we went back a second time without hesitation. We wanted to update our family room, and weren't sure where to start. We worked with Brittany Mikolajczyk and she was excellent! She was attentive, took the time to come to our home, understand our tastes, and helped us design a fresh new look. Our family room never looked better. Ordering and delivery was simple and the service was excellent. The furniture and accessories are high quality. We had a great experience and will recommend Brittany and Walter E. Smithe to our friends and family without hesitation.

Maria Woodworth is an amazing sales and interior consultant for Walter E. Smith. Kevin the manager was also helpful. My wife and I bought a sectional, which after we bought it, we saw it at a lower price elsewhere and they price matched it. Maria and Kevin made sure my wife and I were happy throughout the entire process. Maria W. was especially kind and gracious. We have a large family and she was always eager to help and could relate. Shes awesome to work with for all your home needs. Best salesperson we've ever had with furniture and your interior design for your home.

Brooke is an outstanding designer! She listened to our needs, created a beautiful design, and made the whole process a breeze. We are very excited to receive delivery of our new furniture.

We bought two chairs and I absolutely love them. They fit perfectly in my home, and we get a lot of compliments on them. Keith is a good listener, was responsive to our style/preferences, and is friendly and helpful. He was easily accessible by text for quick answers to our questions about pricing, size or color options. I would do business with him in the future.

Our experience with Walter E Smithe in Merrillville has been unbelievably amazing. The entire staff have been courteous, respectful in a less than perfect situation. Without going into great deal, we needed repairs that were under manufacturer warranty. The customer service from the initiation of the claim to the actual repairs of our furniture was handled with superb personal respect, timelines and extreme quality. So often warranty work is not of great presidents to a company, however that was not so in this incidence.
We are forever thankful to the person that initiated our claim to the dispatchers, repair men, pick up & delivery personnel for the quality work & respectful treatment we received from everyone at Walter E Smithe in Merrillville. I encourage anyone & everyone quality minded to purchase from Walter E Smithe as you can be assured that you get the quality furniture & treatment you pay for from this company.

Great selection, quality furniture at a fair price. Our designer Debbie is the best! She's helped us design our kitchen table, chairs and counter stools. Quality is not cheap but the prices are reasonable. Remember you get what you pay for.

Brooke Nohr of Smithe Furniture Design was a terrific consultant. She helped me problem solve my furniture needs, was helpful without being pushy, and offered furniture design options based on her training. Her professionalism impressed me. I would recommend her services for a quality experience.

I enjoy my shopping experience each time in the Merrillville store. My favored salesperson/designer is Keith. He is always willing and able to assist me with developing my design ideas. Plus, the furniture is beautiful and I have been taking advantage of the sales.

From beginning to end our shopping experience at WES was wonderful. Our designer at the Naperville location, Kerri Murphy, went above and beyond our expectations. Our furniture arrived yesterday and it is perfect. We will be returning for future shopping with Kerri. She was very professional and a joy to work with.

I went into Walter E. Smithe with a plan to redecorate a room around a picture. I had no idea about the furniture or accessories I would use. I'm a senior citizen, so this was totally overwhelming for me. I met with designer Teresa Lekan. She was very patient and more than willing to take all the time I needed to select the items that would accomplish my goal. Teresa was very helpful in decorating the entire room, not just selecting the furniture. I've always been more traditional, but with Teresa's ideas, the room I had hoped for, is now a reality, and not something I could have accomplished on my own. I'm very pleased with the quality of Walter E Smithe furniture, and would definitely choose them for any future purchases.

Keith C. was a pleasure to work. My husband and I came to look around and we never felt pressured. He allowed us to look without any worries. The fabric we selected was no longer available. He called and set up an appointment and texted me with other options. Today Keith designed fabrics with colors and textures I never would have chosen. I am so excited to see the end result. We are sure it would be amazing. I would definitely work with Keith and Walter E. Smithe for my next project.
