I love this little store everyone is super friendly and they have a variety of things.

EXCELLENT carnitas! Their pork tamales are VERY good too! (They are usually gone by the time I get there, so I was very happy they had some for my family to try.) Very friendly staff and excellent food.

Small store, but good meat selection. Everything is organized and people are friendly. Truly a great neighborhood store.

Surpringly the best tamales that I've had. Only on the weekends. A gem for sure

Great selection of carnitas even at 11:00 am-which is usually too late for good picks at some stores.

We found this place on our way back home to Florida! Apreciamos comida Buena y estas carnitas estan super! The service was amazing. The gentleman in the meat area warmed up the tortillas for us and offered after we told him we were driving 17 hrs home. The ladies at the register were very sweet and helpful. I popped in for a burrito and they made me a delishes vegetable burrito made to order. Plus I bought some natural scrubbers for body and dishes. Good experience.

I frequent Ortega on the weekend.
Purchased 4 pounds carnitas. Very salty and I returned. They were very nice about it and replaced. I'm extremely satisfied with their kindness.

Carnitas are the best in Hammond. Avocados are on point every time. The lines are long on the weekends but this is expected from quality meats and hot carnitas or tamales!

They have the best meats I've ever purchased and their prices are extremely reasonable; especially for the qualify. The staff are always friendly and very helpful as well as the manager.

I shop there at least once or twice a week and buy their fresh green peppers, onions and cilantro as well as a variety of meats. I would highly recommend shopping at Supermercado's not just for your veggies but especially their meats!!!!

Ortega's is a great Mexican Mercado. You can find everything under the sun there from fresh vegetables to salsas and your favorite Meats. Prices are reasonable and it's always been a good experience there. On the weekends I always look forward to tamales, barbacoa, and Fresh Tortillas. Parking is a little tight and it does get crowded so plan early.

We bought tamales, carnitas, chicharrón, ensalada de nopales, tres leches cake, and some groceries. As with many smaller stores the prices on groceries were a little higher than your bigger chain stores. All the food was good. It is clean and smells clean. The meats looked nice. They also had birria.

Great place to shop! Everything is fresh and he owners dont price gouge like other stores do. Plus the owners are extremely nice people!!

This place is a hidden gem. Lots of goodies. On weekends, they do barbacoa, tamales and carnitas. They also make homemade salsas and ceviche all through the week. Must check it out. Produce is always on point

Super friendly family owned grocery store. Lots of fresh produce, the meat is so fresh the skirt steak just perfect be sure to ask for it opened and thru the tenderizer for your next cook out. Mmmm

I love this store small but has olmos everything in stock all the time specially in the weekends has tamales, barbacoa and much more great food

I been there so many times and the carniceros son muy respetosos the cashier same very friendly people and respectful...Ortegas is my place......very recommended.

Love this little Mexican market great steak taco meat. The tamales are tasty. Just good all around corner Mexican store.

Store has been really updated inside, real nice, and the meat is fresh and carnitas and barbacoa on sundays is real good and the tacos are made right there fresh on weekdays, the owner is real good people!!!
