Correia is MAGIC! My hair isn't the worst, but it was certainly a disaster. I had no idea this hair witch could make my fuzz not only transform in to the ringlets I've dreamed of my entire life, but show me what to use to make them stay that way! I don't think I will ever be able to adequately express how much I appreciate her showing me the way, the truth and the light regarding my hair and the products I've used and what they are actually doing to my hair. I don't think I will ever get sick of saying "Oh I woke up like this". Thank you, Correia, for changing my hair life!

Curly hair experts! I’m a newbie to the process of embracing my fine curly, curly hair. Marci has patiently been teaching me the steps to hydrate, cast and savor. Each visit I see improvement. Can you see the difference between my before and after?

1st off my hair is the best it has ever been, and this is after 1 visit. My curls are more define, have more of a pattern and it is all thanks to Mallory. I felt the appointment we had was a class specific for me. I have never had someone sit down with me and explain to me how to treat my hair - the knowledge that was pass on is invaluable to me. I had so many questions and I felt she really took her time in explain, and you know those curls you can only get the in the salon and can never recreate at home - nope not this time she showed me everything. Then also had me participate and practice right there so that I know exactly what to do at home.
I know I have found the place for my hair.

2nd the location is very easy to get to, there is many buses that go by and a great location to walk around in before and after appointment as long as it is not too late. - Only thing is if you are someone that has a walk disability and is not able to get upstairs with ease this may be a problem as the Salon is located on the 2nd floor with no elevator.

The price is more on the higher side is a luxury to have but not something you need. For it is worth the price point to see Mallory but there is other Curly hair experts who work alongside her and might fix better in your budget, but do be ready to spend a bit of money and for the 1st appt a bit of time this is a long appointment but worth it.

Living in Portland I have long searched for a stylist who not only knew how to take care of my curly hair but also how to cut and style.
Many years, many stylists, and many terrible hair cuts later I learned of Correia at Gilded Fox and immediately got into the waiting list to get an appointment.

When I walked in the salon I was immediately greeted with a warm smile and with my name. I immediately felt comfortable.

Carriea is not only talented with the scissors, she is very attentive, and enthusiastically answered all of my questions.

She is down to earth, easy to talk to and so knowledgeable about curly hair.

She gave me a great deal of information and education. I thought I knew a little about curly hair but learned so much.

When I left the salon my hair was perfectly cut and beautifully styled.

Correia will be the only stylist touching this head of hair as long as I have it.

I had my first appointment yesterday with Mallory and it was fantastic! Mallory was friendly and inviting, and her skills and expertise were outstanding as well. She listened and was attentive to my concerns and goals with my hair along with being sensitive to my needs regarding scented products.

The result of her efforts is one satisfied client. My hair looks and feels great, she nailed the look I was going for. Highly recommend this salon, it’s worth it.

I went to see Mallory for a perm consult and I can honestly say she is the sweetest human being with just a plethora of knowledge about hair. I mean she is sweet, personable, funny and wonderful at what she does. I’m so happy to have a new stylist that wants what’s best for not just my hair but for me. She is stuck with me while I call the PNW my home. I cannot recommend her enough.

In addition to being skilled and passionate about her job, Mallory is such a kind and caring person. She explains everything thoroughly to make sure that you understand the service/product and are comfortable. She's wonderful and I would recommend her to anyone!

Russell is a miracle worker! I have never seen my natural curls so hydrated and defined! He gave me a full on curly hair care education that I have never gotten anywhere else! From tips on dealing with my dry scalp to how to duplicate this magic he did on my hair! His knowledge on different textures and curl patterns are just amazing! It feels so good to finally find a place that specializes in curly hair😍

i have been going to Russell for a couple of years. I love how he cuts my curls and I can just wash & wear after his haircuts plus my cut grows out great too! I will pay extra for a great hair cut and love being able to enhance my curls! I get compliments on my hair all the time! He has taught me how to style my hair and use the best products for my hair. I also chose this Salon because I love Innersense Hair Products and I look at the ingredients going on my skin and body and it is safe and full transparency in their ingredients! I recently treated myself to a new client appointment with Russell. When I arrived the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. They were punctual and Russell went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with my curls and educated in caring for them before I left. He’s not only highly trained, he’s a gifted artist. Best place in Portland for a girl /guy with curly hair. I got my hair done by Russel who is a curly hair genius! I am so happy with my cut and color. He made me feel comfortable, gave me exactly what I wanted and listened to what I had to say. Definitely recommend Gilded Fox for a worry-free salon experience.

Everyone at Gilded Fox does such an amazing job, and they’re so friendly and really treat their clients well while giving them the high end salon experience. I took my mom here to have her very curly and unruly hair done by Russel, and when he was finished it was truly beautiful, and he made my mom feel beautiful. Even a month after having it done her hair still looks incredible and people are always complimenting her curls! I’d give this salon 10 stars if I could.

Russell is wonderful! He is very educational and experienced with natural, textured hair. I had my first "Deva Cut" experience and it is the best haircut I've ever had. He's very detailed and worked to give my hair the shape I wanted. I walked out of that salon feeling like a million dollars! The true test was being able to style my hair with Russell's technique at home. The Innersense organic products he used are phonomenal and work wonders for me on my wash day. They give my curls definition like none other. I have finally found my hair stylist!

Just got done with my appointment with Chandler and what a lovely experience it was! I felt so spoiled and pampered every step of the way. We were offered beverages upon arrival, which was really appreciated. Chandler was so attentive, and very knowledgeable about the process, explaining everything to me as we went. The wash was absolute heaven, so blissful 💆🏻‍♀The total time flew by, I was so relaxed and comfortable. My hair turned out so fabulous, it has seriously never looked this good in my life. Now that my hair is cut properly for my curly hair type, I will never get a "normal" haircut again. I am very much looking forward to my next appointment! Thanks again, Chandler, you were awesome!

It was an amazing experience! Cute location. They offered sparkling water. Chandler was lovely and gives an incredible head massage. He answered all my questions and gave me helpful advice. He tried some things I would be too afraid to try and ultimately, when I left, I didn't really like how it looked, but I look forward to seeing what the hair cut looks like after I style it myself. Definitely had a good time!

I love this salon. Having been working with Russell since the COVID shutdown ended. He’s fixed my self inflicted color disaster, and my curls have never been healthier. Russell gives a great cut that’s easy to maintain, and provides wonderful training on the care and feeding of curly hair. Love the Innersense product line. Also recommend a visit to Fumi at Color Treats, the nail salon located in the Gilded Fox - beautiful Japanese nail art.

I had my first appointment with Russel last week and it went really well. I had a long, thick mop of frizz that I’d been struggling with for years. I wanted something easy, natural and just right for me. Russel was terrific. He asked me lots of questions, listened and made suggestions. He also gave me an education in the care and maintenance of what has turned out to be a stylish yet simple new look. If you have curly hair and find yourself in constant frizz crisis, go to Russel and let him perform his magic.

I recently moved to the PNW and have been hoping to find a stylist for some time. I am so so so glad I found this salon! I searched high and low to find a Deva cut stylist, and I was in luck when I found out that Russell was still taking new clients. He is the highest level of Deva certification and it certainly shows. He is absolutely magic with his shears. I have had several deva cuts, and this by far has been my favorite. Russell really took the time to get to know me and asked what I wanted from my haircut. He let me show him photos and then talked me through the process as we went along. The cut itself was perfect. I wear an afro, and he had it shaped perfectly. I've had several cuts in the past where it ended up lopsided and uneven, but this cut was just right. Russell is a true genius with his craft. His passion for his work shows not only though his extraordinary talent, but also in his ability to teach his clients about their hair and what will work well for their curls. It is no wonder that people travel from all around the world to see him. I'm thankful I only have to travel from the next town over. The salon itself was very cozy. All the stylists, especially the owner, were welcoming and kind. Russell was on time and gave all his attention to me while cutting. He also did a lot of education in products and how to use the Innersense line of products. I was using them all wrong! I am grateful to have finally found my curly/coily stylist. Mallory is just simply the best. Her enthusiasm for her craft and her clients is just inspiring. Loved my experience with her at this beautiful salon.
