It’s a wonderful experience immersed in nature and its wildlife, highly recommended, even if the road towards the park is quite bumpy.
With a park guide and other 6 people, we did a short tour (only 1h and half) but complete and fulfilling: we walked in the mahogany forest, then we saw the famous red monkeys and we finished the tour in the mangrove swamps. The guide was very prepared and explained a lot on the trees and animals of the park and I am happy to know the ticket will contribute to protect this precious environment.

The Jozani Forest in Zanzibar is an absolute gem that should not be missed! I had the most incredible time exploring this lush and enchanting forest. Walking through the dense vegetation, I was surrounded by a rich biodiversity and a sense of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere.

The highlight of my visit was encountering the rare Red Colobus monkeys, which are endemic to this forest. Witnessing these playful and curious creatures up close was truly a magical experience. The knowledgeable guides provided fascinating insights about the monkeys' behavior and conservation efforts, which made the encounter even more meaningful.

Aside from the monkeys, the forest itself is a treasure trove of natural wonders. The towering trees, vibrant flora, and diverse birdlife create a captivating ecosystem that feels like stepping into a different world. The well-maintained trails and informative signs made it easy to navigate and learn about the forest's unique features.

I also appreciated the efforts made by the local community and authorities to preserve and protect this valuable ecosystem. It's heartwarming to see the dedication to sustainable tourism and conservation practices.

Whether you're a nature lover, wildlife enthusiast, or simply seeking a serene escape, the Jozani Forest is the perfect destination. I highly recommend visiting this extraordinary place to reconnect with nature, witness amazing wildlife, and support the conservation efforts. It's an experience that will leave you in awe and with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Warm regards Doreen

Unlike elsewhere on the island, this park is protected and respected. The guides are passionate and knowledgeable and very much aware of conservation and genuine.

The frog in the picture is just the size of your little finger nail – I don't know how the guide spotted it.

You will learn something and see rare animals close up. Don't forget to be considerate when you enjoy your two hours in Zanzibar's rich conservation area.

A very interesting tour with the guide Sarah, we got explanations about the formation of the forest, the trees, the vegetation and the animals unique to the place. The colobus monkeys are adorable and we enjoyed seeing them in their natural place.

A place to visit when in Zanzibar and you want to see a tropical forest and its inhabitants. The tour consists of 3 parts: the forest, the monkeys: black and red colobus and the mangroves. We have also seen the elephant shrew, centipedes, spiders and crabs.

Really nice visit. Our guide was very good, excellent English and very knowledgeable about the forest.
The tour does not take very long (around 40 min or so) and took us through families of monkeys and beautiful mangroves. Entrance is 25,000 TZS pp inckudit the guide. You can request/pay for longer walking tours.

Walking through the mangrove area was a really magical experience. It feels so different, so natural and so peaceful. We went there as part of a guided tour of Jozani national park and I’m so glad we did (we didn’t know the place existed before the guide drove us there).

Jozani is a scenic touristic destination with a very successful conservation strategy involving the 10 communities around the forest.

Jozani Forest is the barely reserved National Park of Zanzibar. Its safe home of the rare endemic red monkeys you can only see in Zanzibar. Jozani is a must visit Day Tour in Zanzibar.

I liked how all things were handled. The guide was ok but was missing some language skills. We were able to see a pack of monkeys. There was no plastic waste to be seen. Overall a really good experience.
