Mitsui Japanese Restaurant

We are simple, unpretentious“tourists” in Taiwan with a love for food. Our day tour guide told us “Mitsui” was a very “famous”, so we tried it for dinner. Excellent. Atmosphere is “buzzy”, service is rushed but we had a cheerful and efficient chief waitress. Only disappointment was the soft shell crab roll (too much rice, was too little crab(everything else was good.

Visited a few days ago for dinner and the food was delicious. One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to in Taiwan. The seafood was very fresh and the sushi was incredible. I ordered the dinner set and the portions were quite generous. My only grievance is that the beef in the set was a bit dry and a bit disappointing compared to the other dishes included in the set.

Ambiance wise - the interior design was lovely - very clean and beautiful. The service was also very great; staff were very attentive.

We were here to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The meals were above average as usual. Their attitudes were great but took a long time to serve (still excellent) due to lack of crew. They also provided meal for vegetarians.

Best easily in Japanese dining in Taiwan. The interior design is superb and so is their menu and presentation.

They were able to accommodate me for dinner even though I didn't have a prior reservation. I got their Shang Fang set. The food was exquisite. Quality of the sashimi just like the ones I had in Hokkaido before. My stomach had limited capacity though so I was already full by the time they rolled in the 5th dish. Must-eat whenever you're in Taiwan. Well worth the price I paid.

This place was absolutely excellent! Food was delicious. Price is very good (I live in California where everything is expensive). Overall great experience and great food. Might go back again before leaving town.

Have Omakase dinner last night with a group of friends and we all enjoy the foods which is fresh and the portions are generous. We have a wonder dinner and fellowship with the setting of the room

This is a superb Japanese restaurant. English speakers beware that the staff mostly speaks Chinese.

For 4 people, we ordered 3 of the seasonal custom set-course menus, which they put together for us family style. The waiter queried our tastes and dietary restrictions up front and then designed the menu accordingly. In the resulting meal, there was not a single course that was not delicious. The ingredients were all incredibly fresh and prepared in ways to bring out their best flavors. Every last bit of food was eaten despite large portions. The red-throated sea bass stood out as particularly special. I highly recommend this restaurant and would come back without hesitation.

Excellent Japanese food. Authentic flavors with a twist and very fresh fish. Would have added more pictures but I kept eating the food before remembering to take them.

High end Omakase Japanese Restaurant in Taipei City. Serves fresh and nice Japanese delicacies in a very quiet and comfortable ambient, suitable for business discussion or dating.

Awesome Japanese style restaurant, the staff exceedingly knowledgeable & well-versed in Japanese culinary art. My second visit, and not disappointed, and niether will you. Enjoy!

My friend took me here for lunch, we took the Seasonal Selection Set Lunch menu. Food Coma! The sashimi and everything is so raw fresh and melts in your mouth. Absolutely the best Japanese food in Taipei. The crab is so juicy.. the soup tastes like the sea.. I can’t get enough and definitely will come back again.. having a food coma right now.. The staff is absolutely amazing, great recommendations and very accommodating.

Amazingly fresh seafood and excellent service. Private rooms are also available. I have eaten here at least 3 times and the quality has always been consistent. Give this place a try!

Fast service. Fast food but full on quality. No bs and great options. We did the premium set meal plus the shabu shabu. For two individuals it is a little too much but still very good. Love taiwanese service and food quality. 100% on presentation as well.

Nonan Street Mitsui Restaurant is the first shop in the Mutsi family. The value and quality are still well kept. I always order Hokkaido kingcrab salad, raw fish (“sashimi”) or Sushi by salmon belly, Spanish mackerel (“勘八”), Tuna or Sword fish. They have the beef shabu-shabu like Wagyu beef. And good taste cold Sake, good price too. The service ladies are all kind and nice. I also like it not so noisy as I found most of visitors are frequent customers like me. About 1300TWD per person including a bottle of cold Sake, good price.

Awesome Japanese restaurant with amazing food and great service. The place was quiet and it's perfect for couples or family dinner. The price was reasonable, not too expensive for a Japanese fine dining experience. A standard set dinner menu comes with a lot of dishes so maybe it's better to order 1 set and then order some other dishes for 2 people. Will definitely visit again.

A special bonus goes to the cleanness and customer care - they even check your temperature when you enter to avoid having sick people that could potentially infect also the other customers.
Everything is just perfect inside, ultra clean!
Location wise it’s excellent for lunch or dinner if you visit the Garden maze, Expo park, Fine Arts Museum or 號林安泰古厝.
They speak English and have English menus, so it’s easy to order and get around. I attach the menu from 2nd February 2020.
We went for the High mountain tea (Gaoshan Cha - you should try it while in Taiwan), Miso soup, Tempura king prawn with tempura vegetables, salmon roll and the beef ribs for 2 people (it’s a bit like a Japanese hot pot and the waiter will cook it for you) - photos and videos with everything below.
You receive at the end free ice cream or red beans soup. We went for ice cream (matcha and black sesame) that came with a few fruits - grapes, asian pear and guava.
Overall an excellent restaurant, not to be missed, especially if you like or you want to try Japanese food. A++

Love this place for a nice (Taiwan) Japanese meal. Always have had set course menus. The fish is fresh, other meats are always well done, and the private seating areas are a nice touch, though I imagine the low-lit seating out front is nice as well.
