This museum is definitely in the top three that I have ever been to. I arrived just after opening on a weekday. No line. Purchased my ticket, rented an audio headset, and walked in. Workers were very friendly and helpful. It was suggested that I begin on the top floor and work my way down. The museum is very spacious, clean, well organized, with exhibits divided by time periods and categories with sone interactive displays. I would definitely recommend this museum as it was one of my highlights visiting Taipei.

Third time to Taiwan. This is a must! Lots of history preserved here and very well exhibited! Pottery, manuscripts, maps. So much to see. Take the better part of a day to explore then spend some time in the gardens!

Amazing museum of Asian art and culture. So many beautiful pieces from China that date back many centuries. With works in stone, bronze, ceramic, and many beautiful works of art and calligraphy, there is a lot to see. The Jade cabbage might be the famous piece here but there is so much more to see. The self guided tour headset is worth getting and is useful no matter what order you visit the exhibits.

Great museum with lots of artifacts and history of Taiwan. A great place to visit and learn. The overall area is beautiful and they have a nice garden and pond area to walk at. Went on a Saturday so it was a bit busy just be prepared of you plan on a weekend visit.

For museum nerds and historical story geeks out there, this is an absolute must go place when you visit Taipei.

The national museum collects various historical treasures of China in here.

The ticket can be purchased in the front with fee 350twd. You can just spend half a day in here easily since there are many floors and exhibition areas to explore.

Recommended to arrive early at 9am, after 10-10.30 there will be a lot of tourists coming in.

The place is great and refreshing to learn about Taiwan and other related History. The Palace itself is so majestic in Personal and the little garden beside the garden will make you feel nostalgic. 🥰

Took my son with me, drove in an electric scooter no need for driver license if u use electric scooter. Parked in the scooter parking lot. Was very good to get to and to my surprise we both got inside for free because we're both Taiwan citizens and my son is student and I'm disabled. Both presented the IDs needed and got free entrance when normally it would cost over 250 Taiwan dollar per person for tourists. The displays were very interesting all antiques. No food or drinks allowed. There's drinking water fountain inside just bring your empty bottle to fill it up inside. Had walked into all the displays on all floors and was exhausted. This place would be a favorite place for those who loves antiques. Be ready to walk over 4 hrs. To be able to finish the whole building.

The Kuomintang (KMT) valiantly safeguarded 700,000 priceless artifacts from the Forbidden Palace and five other significant holdings during their retreat to Taiwan. This preservation effort is truly commendable, considering the potential loss had they been left behind amid the Communist advance. Visitors to this treasure trove in Taiwan can now enjoy an enriching experience with audioguides available in multiple languages. The friendly staff is eager to guide and provide insightful information. Discovering the hidden gem of a restaurant on the unadvertised fourth floor, accessible only through a discreet stairwell and elevator, adds an extra layer of intrigue and delight to this remarkable cultural journey.

This is a must visit place when in Taipei. Getting to the museum is relatively easy by public transport. This is most easily done with the red line of the metro and then transfer by bus. the number 255 is recommended, but there are at least 6 other buses that will stop you in front of the museum. You can buy a promo card from the klook app, this way you will optimize your expenses and also make it easier to travel by public transport. The museum itself is excellently organized, huge halls, well arranged and with very detailed information. You can additionally get a translation with headphones as you walk through the various halls, as well as hire a guide to pay even more attention to the history of the museum. I recommend allowing between 120 and 180 minutes for the visit and separate time for transportation.

This museum is huge. Can easily spend half a day here. There are various halls showing different exhibit themes. Can get pretty crowded even on weekdays. Group tours are available. Should consider buying tickets online to avoid queuing at ticketing booth.

A must go if you're interested in Taiwan's history. There's a special exhibit from time to time.

It could get very cold inside as the air-condition is very strong to preserve all of the relics, but the staff is very helpful and friendly and the audio guide is very good. The view outside is good too and traveling is easy by a bus.

The price per person is TWD350 which is very valuable

My number 1 favourite museum so far! I enjoy visiting museums and I spent almost 3 hours (average 1 hour per floor). I came here in 2019, and happy to see new exhibitions and learn new things from the past. The facilities here are also good (they have Muslim prayer hall, which I think is very thoughtful).

One of the must visit attrition in Taiwan, as a citizen of Taiwan I only visit a hand full of times, but still find it very interesting and lot to learn from.
Only wish they were able to control the traffic flow. The tour usually flooded one space after another, other then that still great to visit.

Very nice museum with many beautiful peaces of art. If you are passionate about I would suggest to book an audio guide or a guide.
The AC temperature could be rise up a bit. IT was very cold inside especially when outside is 40 degrees. . I suggest you to bring a jumper.

Wonderful collection of unique items, partially thousands of years old.
3 levels in the museum, each theme has its own room.
They have old artifacts, daily use goods, art, calligraphy, jade carvings, ....
A locker is on the right side of the cashier, no lockers inside the exhibition, so make sure to lock your bag before you enter, or else you carry it around.
The easiest way to get there is by bus from Shinshan Metro Station. There's a big display on the street listing all buses to NPM.

An absolute can't miss if you are vacationing in Taipei. The facilities are impeccably kept. The exhibits are frequently updated and rotated. This was my third visit and first in over ten years. The museum has done an amazing job of keeping up with the times and incorporating VR and high-tech visual display elements in showcasing the essence of Chinese art and artefacts. The staff are super friendly and helpful!

I often tell friends to go visit Beijing's palace museum 故宮 to see the majestic buildings of the Forbidden City 紫禁城 and to visit this 故宮 museum in Taipei, named after the museum in Beijing, to see the treasures that once were housed in those buildings.
I learned recently that only a out 20% of the old museum's collection ended up in Taiwan, but those were also some of the most valued pieces. At present, only 1% of the museum's collection of over 650,000 artifacts are displayed at a given time. Other than a few well-known pieces that are on permanent display, such as the jadeite cabbage, the museum regularly rotates the exhibition of artifacts, especially painting and calligraphy scrolls which take up a lot of space when unrolled.

This is a must visit attraction if you are coming to Taipei. With 3 storeys of exhibits, do plan with minimum of 2 hours before coming over. Additional duration if you are bringing any elders.

There's couple of souvenir shops n a nice cafe which we had our lunch break b4 we continue the tour.

Do bring a windbreaker or jacket as the AC are pretty chilling.

The museum was beautiful. Outside, there’s a very nice garden and it just felt grand, especially with the way the building was designed. And the view of the mountain tops was gorgeous.

The collection inside the museum is very organized. I enjoyed looking at the artifacts a lot. There are items from different dynasties, even a few things from before the common era.

The place is also very accessible, PWD and seniors included.
