Although the weather when I went was really cloudy, the place still looked amazing. Tons of places to walk around in and you can freely choose between spending time inside the main building or resting at the gardens outside (where less people walk by). Locals use the area to exercise, the environment is clean, and there are tons of souvenirs to choose from. Definitely consider coming if you have around two free hours in your schedule, it's right next to the bus stops.

I was initially going to pass on visiting this place but I’m so happy we came.

I learned so much about Taiwan, the culture of the people and their long fight for democracy by visiting this place. Up until then I have only known bits and pieces from what I’ve seen on American news etc. This memorial is massive. You can spend an entire day there. There is so much to see. They even had radio tours which i recommended although I didn’t have time to participate.

We spent over an hour and didn’t even come close to seeing what this memorial had to offer. I recommend!

Also, try to come on the hour and see the military/police exchange. Such a beautiful experience.

Majestic place to visit. There are exhibitions at the building on the sides of the parade square. Good to come earlier in the day, less crowded and not too warm.. Change of guard ceremony happens every hour. Take time to enjoy the garden around the vicinity too! There's sakura trees at the back garden of the memorial hall and the signs show that they bloom in January each year

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei is an impressive landmark. The building is grand, with white walls and blue roofs. Inside, you can discover Taiwan’s history. The surrounding park is pleasant, perfect for a leisurely walk. Don’t miss the changing of the guard—it’s quite interesting. If you enjoy history and want to see a significant site in the city, this is a must-visit.

Visiting Chiang Kai-shek Memorial was a delightful experience.
We were able to witness the changing of the guards. This is done every hour.
It has very, very wide grounds, garden, pond and a lot of more interesting areas to see plus restos.

It’s a really impressive landmark and probably one of the most famous ones in Taipei. Went there on a really sunny and warm day so it’s recommendable to bring a sun umbrella to take photos from the outside or to take a stroll around the courtyard. The changing of the guards every full hour is really impressive. Because of the stairs and the crowd I’d go upstairs a little early so you don’t have to hurry up the stairs. At the ground floor (which has ac) some souvenir shops and also some galleries and exhibition.

Very impressive monument. Do try to catch the hourly guard changing ceremony in the vast hall. There is an excellent exhibition space on the ground floor, which also houses a post office, several gift shops, toilets and a snack kiosk.

Very interesting to visit! At every hour they have a change of the guards which is impressive to see. In the basement they have nice shops for some souvenir shopping. Also, there is a post office in the basement in case you would like to sent postcards home 💌

What a gorgeous day... 28°, Sunny, light breeze and a truly ch'an place to visit!! A unique, piece of architecture, surrounded by vast peaceful and picturesque grounds right in the heart of the city. Visiting after the Taiwanese 🇹🇼 National Day and seeing all the flags bordering the exquisite gardens made the view even more special! Make sure you take the time to watch the changing of the gaurd (at the top of every hour) it is well worth it, the soldiers put on an amazing show! Enjoy!

Wow.

That’s exactly the word and feeling that came to mind as I entered Liberty Square coming from the National Theater.

Memorials are supposed to honor the past while at the same time inspiring pride and confidence in one’s country.

The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall checks off all those and more. I’m sure Taiwanese nationals look at this memorial with pride and love for their nation.

It’s a one time visit type of attraction for tourists though. Lots of tourists in the area too.

Beautifully designed memorial hall with a museum inside. For some exhibitions you will have to pay but the permanent exhibition about how Taiwan became a free country is free of charge. A free audio guide is available as well. There are several gift shops and toilets inside. It's a well maintained building. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Taipei.

A magnificent place to honor a statesman who launched Taiwan onto the world stage. The hall is elevated by over 50 steps from the plain field. At the right time, one can witness the change of guards in the memorial hall.

Famous tourist place and still need to visit if you are in Taipei. Will be mesmerized on how massive the structures, especially when you are in the area compared to see it in pictures and videos. Ensure you stay for the hourly change of guards, timing your movement well if you want to have the best view since it will be packed with people. Easy to commute since it has own MRT station for this hall.

Free attraction, combined with a trip to Taipei 101.

Watching the guard change was a really good experience. People were waiting 15 minutes before the change so get there in time to have a good view.

Allowing half a day is more than enough time. You can feed the fish at the pond, we also saw a kingfisher and crane finishing from the pond.

This is a good place to learn about Mr. Chiang in Taiwan, if you are interested in Mr. Chiang.

There is a big square here and a beautiful forest garden with many beautiful fish and birds.

As you admire the fish swimming around, pay attention to the bird droppings falling from the sky.

I guess it is the most famous place in Taipei? Place is gigantic! I'm a big fan of asian architecture, so seeing the place up close and personal is one of my fondest memories during our stay there.

This is one of the most famous tourist attractions here. Very beautiful and peaceful on a nice day. They have some souvenir shops on the bottom. You can also see the changing of the guards. Yes, it is free to roam around and take pictures. Don’t forget to go up the steps.

Loved the gardens and the powerful human rights exhibit that was on show during our visit. Pond with fish food dispenser machines was fun. Plenty of shade and seating to rest. Vending machines for drinks to help cool down. Trash and recycling bins located throughout to keep the area clean

Had fun roaming around CKS even on a hot day. They have vending machines around the compound so you can get refreshments. Very cool to see this masterpiece of architecture and also learn about a bit of Taiwan’s history.

Was also very cool to see the guard changing. They do it every hour and it’s very interesting to see.

They also had a pond area with fishes birds and where locals chill to enjoy the afternoon breeze and paint.

CKS Memorial and Liberty Square are wonderful monuments that are so huge. Located above CKS Memorial Hall Station-Metro Red line. Went there in night, which gave a different kind of feeling. The vast open spaces and lesser crowd, gives clarity and open up minds. Enjoy the night under stars, wind blowing and CKS Memorial.
