Always have a great experience with the gourmet and service. Just tried their Aussi truffle in season and definitely recommended with home made bread served every time. Since the portion is always more than enough, do recommend to share with some appetizer like the grilled octopus or fig salad.

Luxurious and elegant Italian restaurant in the beautiful Mandarin Oriental hotel. This may be the best Italian restaurant in Taipei, but in any case everything we tried was extremely good, even exceptional. The bread, as many have said, is wonderful, pasta perfectly prepared, the eggplant appetizer was exceptional, and the garoupa was also perfectly prepared, and delicious. Nothing to complain about, and the service was excellent. The 4 course set meal is a bargain, in my opinion. We will be going back. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in Taipei, and if you're foodies like us, a must try.

Great decor, high ceilings, excellent service, very attaintive! Starting with the bread, it had a nice crust and soft and chewy inside, just delicious. Our two appetizers were also tasty and refreshing. The main courses, though kind of small portions, were flavorful, cooked just right. Authentic! All ingredients tasted very fresh! Really enjoyed it!

One doesn’t expect to come to Bencotto for value. One comes for the experience. However we got pampered and stuffed with excellent service and food.

Didn’t realize we had booked a Michelin star restaurant for our birthday event, and it was a greatly appreciated.

We didn’t go for the set, instead we went for all the signature dishes Bencotto has to offer. Keep in mind that their portion is quite large even for sharing.

Fig Salad was packed with fresh greens and endives. The figs and cheese on top elevates the freshness that’s much needed in this gruesome weather.

The tender but still crunchy taco tentacles were dressed with a peppery Tabasco like (though not as spicy) purée, perfectly paired with the tartness of the sun-dried tomatoes and chewy gnocchi.

The truffle carpaccio started off as a truffle bomb that explodes in our mouth, followed by the saltiness and umami in the sea urchin, and finished with a lingering beef aroma.

Didn’t expect the “ham and cheese” focaccia to steal the spotlight of this lunch, but the balance between the bread and the ingredients doesn’t limit itself in the taste but the texture as well. MUST ORDER.

Our entree were a combination of land and sea. The duck was tender and well seasoned. The sea bass surprised with a scallop like quality. Both delicious.

Last but not least - desserts. Tiramisu. Tiramisu. Tiramisu. It’s an Italian restaurant. Just order it. Coffee was great especially when pairing with the chocolate mousse. Mille-feuille is on the tart side with cranberries in the filling.

Overall a very satisfying experience. Didn’t have a picture for the bread and bread sticks but they were bomb!

Italian done right only the pasta could’ve been bigger… on my visit it was barely more than three bites :( though to be fair this was the “tasting” menu maybe a la carte is bigger?

Also loved the selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars you could try with the bread

As someone who's visiting Taipei and has been eating loads of Asian food the last few days it felt really good to indulge myself in this Italian restaurant. Food was outstanding, great wines and cheese. Good playlist :)

Love the balsamico/olive oil trolley that comes with the bread! And found out that this restaurant/hotel is plastic free.. impressive!

Service; the staff addressing me by my name and bringing me magazines to read (traveling alone), the sincere smile from Chloe Liu.. would give 10 stars if I could.

Classy modern Italian restaurant. Service and ambience is at Mandarin's standards. Impressive wine list, although a bit overpriced. The food instead is priced fairly for the type of establishment, especially the set menus.

We love this authentic Italian restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Taipei, good value, good quality and good services, The chef even came to our table and explain how they prepare some of the item which we keen to know the ingredients, and also answered some of our question about their food

We enjoyed the casual dining experience here and it is a wonderful place for gathering with good friends.

Thank you for the hard working Staff taken good care of us, you can tell this hotel looking after well to their employees !

Great price for such ambience and service. Was there last year and the menu was not at this price point.
Everything was great from bread to starters to salads to risotto till the main. Beef was good, tuna needs a little more effort. Desserts was great.
Sommelier Andy was great. He even remembered us after a year👍. What a memory!👍
Anyhow we look forward to our.next dinner at bencotto..

Spring menu launched on 3/22 with some price increase. Still, worth every penny. (especially the octopus appetizer and the PASTA)

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Have dined in for over 5 times and it never disappoints.🥳

Everything is perfact from the beginning till the end. Very reasonable price for 5-course menu. Portions are generous. Served fast. Flavours are great.

Fantastic cuisine and brilliant service.

Enjoyed a nice dinner at Bencotto. Service was quite good and the food came out at the right tempo. Choice of olive oil and balsamic vinegar was a nice touch. Will recommend to my Italian clients and friends

Excellent!! I visited this restaurant several times, and all the dishes are amazing. Even once I waited one dish for over 40 minutes, they tried to do something make me feel good, like free wine or free main dish. The only thing i can say, it is really good place to enjoy a good lunch/dinner.

Pizza is excellent. Apps are OK, but main dishes could use some work. They’re just a little too simple/small. But wow, that pizza - straight out of Italy. Buonissima!

The hotel is also truly very pretty and makes for a lovely, calming ambiance. The staff was exceptionally gracious. We very highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
