Anping Tree House

Simply stunning! The fig tree managed to weave itself into the building structure & the building is also nicely preserved with platform where one can climb to see the tree house from different perspectives. We sauntered through the site & saw the same “rooms” from different angles & ended up spending > 1hr here. There is also a small 2 storey museum of Anping.

We got tickets on Klook prior to flying over but there’s honestly no need for it. Can just buy at entrance. No queue or wait time. In fact, it was nice to walk because it wasn’t very crowded.

This place is A MUST VISIT! Have never seen this before in all my travels. And very well maintained. You can see people cleaning and taking pride in keeping the place tidy.

A nice place to visit. Walked around the tree house and get to know its history and place in Tainan and Taiwan. There's a platform where you can feed the fishes as well but do look out for the birds. They will swoop in to catch the fishes that are jumping to eat the feed. Children will enjoy this place.

This is also one of the simplest but amazing structure I've ever seen,,the shattered house holding by the roots,, of the veins of the tree which is called "balete" as what we called in my country,,restoration of the house is unbelievable,,come and visit too,,

We did not enter the residence/ museum, and instead looked at the banyan trees from the side of the property, outside the fence. From there you can also walk up the dyke and walk along the mangrove on a bike path. The visit is probably very interesting through.

Good place to visit. It has an old street nearby. Everything is cheap and tasty.

No matter if you are into the history of the place, the architecture or just the trees, you will have a great time. Definitely worth the way out here and the small entrance fee.

Lovely recommended historical and photogenic place.
How to get: I cycled from train station in 1 hour including breakfast time with a fish soup I found on street. This way let you see anything you want during the trip.

You should combine with Anping old street. Go here first because they open earliest. Then move to The Fort and sightsee the old quarter before the people comming. Then have snack and lunch from 11:30, opening time of old street shops.

When we saw the name we were wondering was it a house on top of a tree? Or surrounded by tree? Or having many trees? But none! It's a house consumed by trees!! Just amazing. Like they say, nature will find it's way.

Great sightseeing place in Tainan and learn about the history. The price has increased to NTD70 per entry. Afterwhich can take a walk down to Anping Old Fort for some side stalls and souveniors

A historical site for Tainan's well-known merchant trading company. Its warehouse was abandoned a long time ago, and became ravaged by an enormous banyan tree, whose gigantic root system wraps around the whole building, and virtually grows on top of the building.

Amazing place to see for only $70. Does a lot more to it than you think there is. Large historical museum, beautiful grounds. Many explanations in english. Definitely worth it

Worth visiting this tree house with so much history. Interesting to see the trees engulfing the old building. Great background for taking photos too!

It was amazing what they did to this place and turning into a tourist spot. You also learn a bit of history and can take a rest to enjoy the breeze. They also have a cute café and shop where you can get souvenirs or drinks.

a nice place for photos. there is a big house filled with trees and a nice river at the side with plentiful of fishes. if you are lucky you nay catch a glimpse of birds fishing for fishes in the river. there is a very large tree that is suitable for family portraits. both adults and children enjoyed their trip there.
