Dadong Night Market

Great vibe, well managed with plenty of good stores. I spoke to one of the mgmt office staff and learnt that Dadong has been around for 22 yrs.

However, last year the municipal split the night market land into 2 plots & another company is running Dadongdong, which is the one that most people enter first.

Both have similar stalls and Dadong has mostly food stores and I noticed that several of the stalls between the 2 operator are the same. I enjoyed both of them.

One of the best night markets I’ve been to at Taiwan, including the ones at Taipei. Nicely sized but so many food stalls! Could finish it in 2 hours including eating. The only thing we didn’t like was the marshmallow ice cream which wasn’t toasted sufficiently and the texture was a bit weird.

Delicious food and fun games. Be prepared to walk among a sea of hungry customers. Haha

Hard to find parking for cars, recommend moped or walking to the night market. Cash only for all the food stalls.

Fried scallion pancake, fried chicken, stone-grilled pork belly, stinky tofu, deep-fried yam balls and lots more!

spent around 2 hours there to eat and shop! most of the stores are food related, love the shao rou stall! there’s also clothing and phone casing store! would recommend to come here for the vibes and food :)

By far the best night market in the whole of Taiwan that my family likes compared to the other bigger well known ones.

I rank this place 2nd among 10 night markets in Taiwan that i have been to, this place is nearly as good as Keelong night market. Wide range of food variety, sellers at vendors are lovely. I tried the fried pork pieces and I see why there are always a long line waiting for it. I was fried to perfection, nice marinade and seasoning. The fried squid is so so. The giant chicken here is battered, deep fried, then dipped in the sauce, then char grilled, so much effort and there is a line for it as well, but i find the batter too thick and the chicken quality is not good as well. The roasted duck roti looks nice but i didn't get to try, same for the mochi

This is the most crowded night market in the entire Taiwan for sure.

Might have been our favorite night market here. It had the right selection of food and a lot of different stalls to shop at. The bubble tea here is amazing!! Definitely will be back when we visit Taiwan.

So if you are here and if you are facing all the stalls and the main road is behind you.

On your right are all the fashion and youngsters kind of food. And on your left are all the nostalgic stalls serving taiwan childhood food (like smelly pot, babao ice, taiwan beef steak with fried noddle, and more) at the extreme end of the market are game stalls.

So hor, if you are from Msia or SG, don't bother to Q for the "Nan ru fried chicken wing" (just at the entrance) because our "har qiong gai"tastes 100 timesx better.

The juice store near toilets, not pure fruits lor (they added a lot of scoop of sugar while blending the juice, don't say I never tell you hor, but if you like extreme sweet then this for you)

Must try (during summer) "ba bao bing" like our "cheng teng" but u can choose up to 6 ingredients + ice + condensed milk (I think) so total 8 items in a bowl. The old ah ma don't talk much, and I don't think you understand also even she replied in "min nan" aka taiwan dialect (our hokkien)

The night market is open on Mon, Tue and Fri. I come here each time when I'm here Tainan. It was rather crowded when we were here on Fri, finding a parking lot can be a challenge. There's a variety of local food and snacks, you may have to queue at some popular stalls.

One of the best thing about Taiwan--> paradise for food lovers

One of the nicest night markets I have been to in Taiwan. All the standard night market foods are represented well and more. What’s different - it is somehow not as oily/ I did not smell of the various fried food when leaving the market. The layout of the stalls are also neat and easy to walk, with a variety of stores, well placed such that there’s something for almost everyone.

人潮洶湧. As busy as it gets. Great selection of food, from street snacks to steak, seafood and in between. Lots of game stalls to test your luck. Great for all ages.

The owner is friendly and cheerful, the food is fresh, the food is safe and healthy. Affordable prices, with foodpanda online delivery system. highly recommended.

Packed. Very local! Both mochi stalls were awesome. One is milk mochi and another wraps oranges, bananas and strawberries in mochi with your choice of flavor and coating. Also had hotteok and colorful grilled rice balls?! Pretty great.

A good night market choice when you are in Tainan. Overall the choices of food and beverages are similar - if not the same with Garden / Flower Night Market. There are few bus stops nearby, and also taxis stand by in front if the market, so transportation is easy even if you don't drive. The night market is crowded during my visit, but nothing extraordinary. With the abundance options you have, you will definitely find something you like.

Was a great experience. The local foods are very tasty and the variety of vendors was immense! The prices are very good and some of the vendors know a little English. I was able to communicate with the little mandarin I know.

Will definitely go again next Friday night.
