Baxiandong Archaeological Site

Well worth a visit I believe! Entry is at no charge, the Visitors' Centre is informative, the history of the caves is fascinating, and I found the superb view along the coast from the top of the trail - you climb up well-constructed steps with a handrail - at the Ciuylan Cave well worth the effort. I was able to store my fully-laden touring bike in the Left Luggage facility at the Visitor's Centre.

The Baxiadong archaeological site is a most see with amazing nature and craft dated back in century and the sea view across the main road gives a glimpse

Great historical site to see the past!

Great place to learn about the geographic formation of the East Coast. The government had cleaned up and restructured the place so it is mainly geography and natural history oriented. Most of the folk religion knick knacks that used to occupy the caves were removed.

One thing to notice though: as of December 2021, the hiking trail and the biggest cave are still closed due to seismic damage. That means more than half of the caves are not accessible. You might want to check again to see when it's fully open.

2024/2/3台東之旅最後一個台東的景點❤
今天有點飄雨🌧所以只拍最大的海蝕洞🤣

照著孩子的社會課本，來看課本上介紹的地方😘大自然的鬼斧神工真厲害👍

下次如果天氣好，應該要花點時間走步道，將八仙洞都走完⭐

商店街老闆們自編的編織包太厲害了👍
於是～買一個支持在地商家❤

很特殊的景點也沒有收門票，就在台11縣旁而已值得下來看看。

停車費$50，走步道就可以看到八仙洞，在洞口可以聽到海浪的迴聲。

長濱文化景點，特殊海蝕洞奇景造就舊石器時代文化發展，平日下午到訪有零星遊客。

車位似乎有點不夠，感覺假日容易客滿。
停車場旁就有廁所，乾淨整潔。

可以看到遠古人類生活過的洞窟，令人震撼，雖然只是個洞窟，但是有遠古人類生活過。

還記得很多年前花蓮市大地震那一年，過年時我跟朋友來花東玩，其中一站就是八仙洞，當時因為地震的關係，每一個洞裡的神像都被搬到了山頂上，我跟朋友兩個人費盡千辛萬苦累得要死終於爬到了山上，結果只看到一群猴子在山上的廟頂打架，於是下山後我跟我朋友說，這輩子絕對不會再來八仙洞了！
有時候話真的不要說得太滿。
一直到了這一天，開車經過了八仙洞的路標，我把上面那段經歷講給我爸聽，還特別強調‘’爬到要往生‘’這一點，然後試探的問他會想要進去參觀嗎？ 他說他沒來過就進去看看吧，反正如果爬樓梯太累就不要繼續爬就好，於是我只好把車開進了售票口，然後售票的小姐貼心提醒我們說，八仙洞園區正在整修，目前只有兩個洞可以參觀，樓梯都不能爬了。 聽到她這麼說，我內心不由得放心了起來。
老實說，我非常慶幸這次還有過來，因為我早已忘了那天然的海蝕洞的壯觀，心想奇怪，這麼壯觀的洞穴我怎麼會沒有印象了呢？ 原來最近幾年，我才開始對自然生態產生興趣，也難怪當我看到後面那一個超大海蝕洞，嘴巴都要合不起來了！
雖然只有兩個洞可以看，但我心裡卻感到非常滿足，往回走的時候，我爸去上廁所，出來後，還驚訝的稱讚八仙洞園區的廁所竟然有免治馬桶，而且廁所真的非常乾淨。
我們還去逛了園區內停車場前的商店，每一間老闆都很熱情，其中一間老闆看到我爸背包上綁著一塊沉香，有興趣的跟我爸詢問，一邊編織著籃子一邊跟我們聊著，有一間老老闆跟我們聊手工藝，另一間女老闆跟我們聊海邊撿到的漂亮石頭，可惜這裡都沒有我們想要買的東西，雖然現場遊客並不多，不過我真心祝福她們的生意都能很興隆。
