Xincheng Taroko Station

Comfortable station with clean seats and toilet (toilet is a little far from seats). The station comes with inspirational design and decorations, and the mixture between modern and old fashioned look, generally speaking, good!

Beautiful station, a great place to stop by and use the restroom. The design of the train station is really good, it looks artistic and beautiful. Truly a unique train station.

Great staff, bus stop outside on your right when you come out the main entry. Large car park to pick ups and close to a 7/11. Platforms 1, 2, 3 are well indicated you won’t catch the wrong train

Good station that accepts bicycles.

You will be greeted by the exhilirating mountain views as soon as you step out of the train. This is much like the Okutama and Mitake train station in Japan’s Ome line. Once you walk down the platform towards the station itself, you will see large prints of awesome landscape shots taken from the Taroko National Park, along with a big map that shows the highlights. You can take a bus to the Taroko National Park Headquarters from here (and other stops of the Taroko bus line), or you can rent a motorcycle or a bike from this station. There are also paid luggage lockers.

Staff are very nice, new station, WiFi, toilets, clear signs.

This is the train station closest to the Taroko National Park. From here you can take bus 302 or bus 1133a to the park. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There is luggage storage here. The signs for forthcoming trains are clear. The lobby is beautiful with nice art works and modern stained glass. The only reservation is that the express train from Taipei does not stop here on its way to Hualian. If you go to Taroko National Park from Taipei it is better to come to this station. If you go to Hualian on an express train you save 30 minutes but you need to take a 20 minutes taxi ride at a cost of about 450NTD to Xincheng. Alternatively you can take bus 1133a from Hualian but then you are dependent on the bus which comes roughly hourly.

Luggage storage available (ask at the ticket counter) it costs 30NT per piece of luggage. Three buses available to go towards Taroko or Hualien. (1133, 1133A, 302).

As tourists from other country, we buy 5 day pass train ticket from Klook. Although the ticket officer didn't familiar with it, they really make efforts to find out and help us out. What make us stunned was, even tough there were other passangers who seems to have more urgent matter behind us, the officer really finish with us first before serving those passengers. Collectible rubber stamp is available here.

Easy jumping off point to Taroko, snacks and lockers accessible

Nice and clean station. They even have usb port for mobile phone charger even though I saw only two but plenty for the plug.

新城不算大站，不過有許多想造訪太魯閣的遊客會進出，原則上列車出發前10分鐘站員才會開放旅客從剪票口進站。

車站內有店家販賣原住民族商品，另外有付費寄物櫃能使用。車站外有大停車場不另外收費，附近有少數租車行，還有台灣好行站點能搭車。

新城車站改建後整體建築設計很好看，外觀和在地山巒及太魯閣的峽谷相呼應，內部也將《太魯閣之美》畫作融入在玻璃中，大廳擺放原住民藝術家創作的《織路》，讓整個車站用低調的方式呈現在地特色。
