A unique and interesting museum which talks about fishing in hualien area. They also show the process of making bonito flakes and have many interactives for kids to play. They also have small fish tanks with unique fishes and a fishing game pond for kids to play. They also have lots of food stuff souvenirs for people to taste and purchase. Good to bring kids there when you are in hualien area.

A museum that explains how the Kuroshio Current brings mackerel to Taiwan. Their main production is “Bonito flake” which is often accompanied with Takoyaki or Misosiru.

Located in the Qixingtan Scenic Area in Hualien, the original Qixing Bogie Museum was burned down in the middle of the night and left empty for a long time. After the place was transformed and reused, it was turned into a theme museum with cultural and ecological characteristics in 2019 with a new look.

The new Qixing Bogie Museum is opened from 9AM to 7PM with free entry and has many interactive games. It is a rare museum with bonito and fish together. Although it is not very large, it feels very novel with more different presentation methods and more interactive installations. There are also delicious products that can be used as souvenirs. It is a good tourist attraction in Hualien.

After visited the museum, you can buy a sweet coconut and take a walk on the beautiful and famous Qixing beach.

Good experience with the kids at the DIY section. The area cover was quite big with 3 levels filled with cute boards. They have the touch and feel section with starfish and fish. My kids really enjoy themselves very much

They are providing good introduction of bonito flakes. You can also bring your puppy here, and the restaurant also welcomes pets.
