This place far exceeded my expectations. Reviews that say the staff is friendly is an understatement. Everyone is amazing, even the housekeeping provided great customer service. The clerk's all speak English well so checking in and out was not a problem. The rooms as others have said are a bit small, but they have everything you need and are very clean and modern. The amenities provided is better than 5 star hotels I stay at and they were all free. There is one thing that was a bit odd. I noticed while taking a shower what a great view I had of the city. After admiring the city's beauty, I realized they also had a great view of me as well....So just a heads up, close your bathroom blinds before you jump in the shower.

This is the best hotel I've been to in Taiwan which is both on a budget and luxurious. I stayed in the deluxe room with the Japanese style bath. After a long day of hiking and exploring, it was so relaxing to come back to my own personal, full-sized bath and take a long soak before bed. The hotel also has an eco-friendly option for room cleaning if you stay more than one night, which is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. The staff are warm and welcoming, and this hotel feels more like a home away from home than a hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location and neighbourhood was great, very close to the MRT station. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - all emails I sent to the hotel were promptly replied to. We arranged for airport pick up via the hotel as we were arriving Taipei at a very late hour, and despite our flight being further delayed by over an hour, the hotel helped us liaise with the driver to ensure our pick up was there for us as previously arranged.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the space in the room was also very practical. The hotel is situated on a main street, so hearing the the busy traffic outside in the morning is inevitable - but, however, the soundproofing in the room itself is also a little thin. You may not be able to hear the actual conversations, but you can hear talking and water usage from rooms on both sides and the hallway for sure.

Overall very good stay. Would definitely recommend to others, and consider this hotel when we are next in Taipei.

The quality of service far exceeded my expectation, thanks the hotel team for the surprise birthday cake! The mattress is very comfortable, the staff was so nice that she even provided the mattress model to me! Hotel room is not big but decent and clean. The only bit that I would suggest is to lower the volume of music at the hotel floor, as I can hear the music very clearly inside the room at daytime (it’s shut down at nighttime though). Hotel location is excellent 5 min walking distance to 永康街, din tai feng, metro etc. All in all I m very happy with the stay. Thanks!

Budget hotel with 5-star experience. The place is modern and has a decent size located right next to Dongmen MRT which is great for going around the city.

Over all great hotel room, 👍friendly front desk and 👍food was awesome. 👍👍👍The room was comfortable/ clean. Can’t wait to come back to this hotel again.

The location was awesome. It was a few walk to the train and bus stations. But the sad part for me was I didn’t get the chance to walk around. Last few hours of my free time I end up walking around and found some great food and shopping ares

The best customer service at a hotel that I've ever experienced. We happened to be there over a birthday and they sent up some chocolate cake and a hand written note. Super clean and very helpful for travelers. They can also speak multiple languages. I'll most likely stay here everytime I visit. Cool decor too!

Easisly accessed from Dongmen station. Extremely helpful, friendly staff who speak English and Mandarin. They hold your luggage if you arrive early or after your reservation. The room was clean and well organized for space. Breakfast was outstanding with a huge variety of food and beverages. I can't speak enough about the front desk staff. They immediately facilitated finding my friend's wallet that got lost in our cab trip to the hotel. If ever back in Taipei, I would definitely stay here again.

Had a fantastic experience here. The staff were friendly, helpful, and even nice enough to realize my girlfriend's birthday was coming up and got her cake! Very clean. No complaints whatsoever.

Excellent hotel for backpack travellers. Clean and tidy place, with free washing machine and free Wi-Fi. Rooms got all common facility you need, the space is enough for simple stay. Location is great, 5 minutes to subway station and close to a famous local restaurants street. Staff are nice and helpful.

Stay: 2017 Sept. 11-18
Travelling: alone
Room: Deluxe Double Room
Price: 21.300 TWD
Room size: The size of the room was fair. You could open your suitcase easily on the floor. Still the room was about minimum to regular size in my opinion, not too much free space, just right and comfortable. The bathroom was rather also regular size, though the shower was quite big. Bathroom is separated by a milk glass door, not lockable, from the room.
Cleanliness: Everything was very clean (no stains, no hair on the bed, no dust anywhere to be found). In the bathroom there was little mold and a crack in the ceiling next to the fan, but this did not cause any constraint in comfort at all. Housekeeping came in every day, emptied the bins, cleaned really well. As a modern, environmentally aware hotel you could indicate with signs on the door if you want your towels to be changed and/or if you’re having a sleep in or if the room is ready for housekeeping.
Interior: In room: Carpet, a rag for a suitcase, a small safe (laptop did not fit in), kettle, air conditioning, a fridge for personal use, big double bed, instructions (TV, AC) in English and Chinese, channel list for the big TV (only about 5-10 English speeking channels), a chair and a worktop; several lights. Bathroom: Floor tiles, Japanese toilet (yes, the ones with spray cleaning functions), regular size lavatory, shower (even with the ground, no tray), Japanese style bath. Several screens and blinds at every window. General: 24hr reception, one elevator (sufficient in my opinion). Only thing to miss: a wardrobe.
WiFi free, fast, working well, everything accessible.
Amenities were filled up on a daily base and included 2 bottles (500ml) of water, potatoe or vegetable crisps, instant coffee, tea, pen, paper, and in the bathroom: comb, toothbrush and paste, hair net, razor. Everything included, no additional fees to be afraid of.
Staff: This is the point that should take most space and most words, but there are not many more words than saying that they’re perfect. The front desk staff was always very very friendly and helpful. Some examples: Asking them where to go for a drink, for sightseeing, for dinner, for whatever, they just hand you a map and circle or write down any information you need, call to reserve a table for you. Everybody knew which room you’re in on the 2nd day. Made me a little surprise on the 2nd day in my room. When a typhoon was announced information for the flights was printed and hanging in the elevator for everybody to see. English was very good of all of them. Same for the breakfast staff: Helpful, always asking if anything is missing or if you need anything. But what I’d like to add here: they stop serving breakfast on time (10am), which sometimes was a bit early to me, to be honest. Housekeeping staff was also very friendly, reminding me take an umbrella when leaving on a rainy day, for example, although the maids did not speak English. Altogether: all of them are doing an effort to make you feel comfortable and home.
Breakfast: All you can eat buffet, served till 10am. Delicious variety of Eastern and Western breakfast. Every day scrambled eggs, croissants, toast, sausages, cheese, marmalade, coffee, black tea, milk, soy milk, 2 changing sorts of fresh fruit. Daily changing variation of hot meals like fish, meat, vegetables. One sort of dessert every day. What I was missing is peanut butter and any kind of sweet spread.
Location: 5 minutes away from the next MRT, about 15 minutes from Taipei main station, taking the MRT, 30 Minutes walking. Close to the hotel you’ll find an indoor market, some restaurants and one of the main sightseeing spots in Taipie: Chiang Kai Shek Memorial. Though located at a rather big street I did not have any problems with noise in any form.
Cost-value-ratio: I guess, one could find something similar a little cheaper, but they really made everything as well as they can and I really felt comfortable there. So in my opinion it is worth the price.
Thank you, Hotel 73!

We stayed there for 3 nights. If you love food, this is the perfect location as it is located within walking distance to so many fantastic eating places like the original Din Tai Fung, Yong-Kang and Lao Tzang beef noodles, Hangzhou steamed dumplings, mango shaved ice, etc, etc. It is also next door to a traditional market where you can get fresh local produce as well as local snacks sold in stalls. Dongmen MRT station is just a step away.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite. However, the rooms may not be wheelchair accessible as the toilet has a kerb. This hotel came with breakfast and the spread was commendable for the price. However, I think the breakfast package is not necessary as there are so many eateries around the vicinity. Breakfast was served in the basement. The basement was not accessible since I was in a wheelchair and the lift does not go to B1. However, the staff informed me that they are able to bring the breakfast up to the room.
The hotel also provided washing machines and dryers free for hotel guests.

Fantastic staff (that can speak English), clean rooms, good housekeeping, free breakfast, free laundry facilities, interesting decor and proximity to CKS Memorial, Dongmen market, Yong Kang St (food) and MRT station all make this an ideal place to stay. Only knocks are that the rooms are a bit small and that the doors, despite their heft, don't filter out sound too well. That being said, the hallways were never particularly loud so that wasn't a problem...but just know that it goes both ways so passerbys can hear you on the phone if you speak loudly.

I have been staying in this small but clean hotel for over 20 years. The recent completion of the subway EAST Gate station made it much more convenient. Taipei's most well know eatery street Yong Kong Street is 10 minutes walk, the best local market NANMUN (South Gate) is near by. One can spend 2 full days around this hotel area without going anywhere else to get a real taste of Taipei.

Chic, neat, location. Good WiFi. Great breakfast. Courteous staff. Cons: small and less sound-proof rooms. The Set Up Box in my room resets occasionally.

We stayed there for 6 nights in a Deluxe Double Room which is located on the 9th (top) floor. The room is comfortable enough for us although it is small. However, the bathroom is a good size with a Japanese-style bathtub with a big window which offers the view of Taipei 101.
Amenities are always there: a clean room, snacks, bottled water, tea, and the bathroom with full toiletries. Hotel 73 offers free breakfast. We had breakfast every morning since we got to taste something new everyday while we were there. The dining area is in the basement. Don't let the size fool you. It is cozy! The hotel also offers free laundry (including detergent): the facility is small (2 washers, 2 dryers) near the dining area, but again, it is clean!
Hotel 73 is in a great location: a short walk to Yong Kang street. There are three 7-11 nearby, and one supermarket. Its website is very informative about its location-how to get there. Other information you need is obviously provided: i.e. taxi to airport with the related charge based on number of people.
Last but not least, Hotel 73 team, I must say "You Guys Rock!!" Everyone, who we came across with, is very friendly, professional. At the lobby, there is always greeting with big smiles. Yes, they speak great English.

Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and excellent location. Would definitely stay at Hotel 73 in the future.

Situated in a relatively quiet area, minutes to the MRT station, short walk to good places to eat.
