Sugar Bistro

Close to the train station, this cozy cafe has a very chubby cat that guards the front porch.

Drinks were good but unfortunately like most cafes in Taipei, they close at 6pm which is too early in my opinion.

Nice coffee shop for brunch or afternoon tea. Great selection of coffee and desserts. Tucked in the alley, but quiet and peaceful.

Order Bergamot Earl Grey, Cappuccino and black sesame ice cream waffle. Waited about 25min for the waffle despite only a few customers. Generally ambience is good as we chose to sit at the balcony. Peaceful and breezy throughout. Location is a bit hard to hard as it is along a small alley. Using Google map shouldn't be a problem

A super casual place you can spend your time here. Food was not super impressive (maybe I didn't order dessert), but sometimes you just need a place make you chill without pressure. The interior, architecture are awesome, I like old time Taiwanese style so much, if you like so, you can have a nice photo shots here. I will come back definitely, try other dishes and just relax.

(English menu) there is very cozy atmosphere here. I really like the style of traditional Taiwanese old house. It would be nice if you can at least have a coffee and relax here. The only disadvantage is the price is not cheap, but still in a fair range.

Great menu of delicious coffees, teas, smoothies, milks, and beers with some brunch and lunch-type meals as well. The atmosphere was nothing fancy, but eclectic and charming. The owners are clearly ingredient conscious and know how to craft great tasting food and drink! I’ll definitely go back if needing a quiet place to work in the Dongmen area.

This was my second time here, and the food & sweets just surprised me each time! The omelet / pancake combo with salad is a great choice for a vegetarian like myself. And the sweets…just couldn’t say NO to the cheesecake, chiffon, and cookies.

This place is known for palm sugar which brings a very tasty flavor to the food / sweets. With great introduction and assistance from Ms. Jo Jo (store manager, chef, or pâtissier?), I truly enjoyed my visits every time and it will certainly be my go-to place for brunch or afternoon tea in this neighborhood.

Every since I went pass year in sugar bistro.... the cake is so delicious.
The service before wasn’t that good .... but now I really like it so much as just like the second home.
Also the store manager.... the public relationship like hotel industry
I will recommend this place for all of my friends and relatives.

Super cool vibes! Great music and you even get to have your own little room if you want :) the palm sugar cheesecake is not a favourite but palm sugar waffle with caramel and ice cream is the best!! Definitely recommend this place for a chilled afternoon!

Chance by it a few months ago, and now really consider it my go to whenever Im in the area.

Come if you need a place with thoughtfully made (note, i did not say “beautifully”) foods and drinks.

Come if you love chiffon cakes. In all its glorious variety of flavors.

Definitely come if you are glucose conscious but craving cakes and cookies. Most if not all baked goods are made with Palm Sugar, which apparently is low in GI and fructose compared to table sugar, and high in minerals and vitamins. I personally just like the caramel flavor it gives all foods made with it ✨

I may or may not be incentivized by the extra cookies that Jojo — the manager/baker — gave me 😃 But the truth is Sugar Bistro really has its perks.

We are so lucky to have Sugar Bistro in the neighborhood and Pao Pao takes order and makes the fresh chiffon cakes whenever we are craving for one. Their cakes are made with palm sugar which are very tasty and healthy. Feel less guilty to have more 😅

Nice and peaceful atmosphere.
Chiffons are creamy, good quality, not expensive compare to similar quality in Taipei generally speaking.

A nice, cozy, pleasant place for an afternoon chill. Foods and drinks are generally okay. The environment, ambience and decoration are characteristic. Cats are a personal plus.

I miss the food and coffee. After 1 year lock down,finally back to Sugar Bistro!

I went to this restaurant yesterday and I was extremely impressed about the meals and environment, especially the manager Jojo provided the nice and professional service, I highly recommended this lovely place for everyone!
