Great vibes, its a real undercover bar, you think you walk into a casual restaurant but behind the restaurant after a special door is the Kavalan Whiskey bar, which is not just a casual bar at all. It’s a really classy stylish bar. They serve real single malt whiskeys for a reasonable price. But most of all, the service is great, the people that work here have a lot of knowledge about the whiskey and cocktails they serve, they are also really friendly and will have a chat with you if you’re open for it. I forgot my jacket but they kept it for me and I could pick it up the day after, even offering me a free whiskey shot just because of the “faith” that made me come back to their bar again.

We arrived as spontaneous patrons, without the need for a prior appointment. Locating the establishment proved to be a charming challenge, but once we discovered the inconspicuous corner building and ascended the stairs, we knew we were on the right path. This whisky bar stands out as one of the finest I've encountered on my global journeys, and I've explored quite a few in my time.

The ambiance, mood, decor, and the attentive staff coalesce seamlessly, creating an impeccable and harmonious atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the whisky flight trio experience; it's a captivating performance, whether you choose to watch the skilled staff pour or take the reins yourself. The staff's profound knowledge of whisky shines through as they meticulously expound upon its intricate notes.

As the evening drew to a close, I found myself impressed, leading me to acquire a bottle to savor at home – I suggest the 300ml peaty variant, especially if you share my penchant for it. This was an unforgettable evening for me and my wife, one that will linger in my memory, and I fervently hope to return someday to relive its magic.

Walk in customer, no appointment needed. Was a little tricky to find the place, look for the building in the corner and go up the stairs and your on the right track.

Quite possibly one of the best whisky bars I’ve been to around the world, and I’ve been to quite a few in my time. The ambiance, mood, decor and the staff is all perfect and so well balanced.

I would obviously recommend doing the whisky flight; it’s a showpiece and lots of fun either watching the staff member pour it or even get yourself to do the pour! The staff are very knowledgeable about the whisky and take time in explaining the notes. At the end of the night I was so impressed I ended up buying a bottle to take home, which I highly recommend if you’re a fan like myself.

Even if you're not a whisky drinker, you can still come here and have a good time. The bar is well stocked with bar bites and there are lots of cocktails to bring out the best of Kavalan whiskies. It is spacious and the bartenders are friendly, always available to help. Located on the 2nd floor, shares a space with a BBQ restaurant.

Kinda like a hidden bar. You need to press a button (somewhere) to open the door.
Wide variety of whiskey and whiskey cocktails. If you are unsure you can ask the friendly staff to introduce. Overall a great experience. Do note it’s a bit more pricey compare to other bars.

Superb for cocktails. But I actually thought the non-exclusive whisky selection were hit and miss. Many didn't have the smoothness I'd like. Really great service and nice atmosphere. Pricey though.

We had such a great time here. We had just been at a really loud bar so wanted our next stop to have a more chill atmosphere. This place was perfect! Great atmosphere and we could still have a conversation. The staff were so passionate about their jobs and took the time to describe every drink. The drinks are unique and wonderful, and the tiramisu was also excellent. Highly recommend!

I was in town for a few days and I'm so glad that I found time to visit this bar. The bartenders were very kind and welcoming to this foreigner. And the flights were well poured/priced. Highly recommend stopping by for a tasting if you're into whiskeys. I'll be back.

This bar is absolutely amazing. We had a great night out and the bartender is a real storyteller. We loved all the stories about the whiskey and the stories behind the cocktails. Taste is really good and the presentation makes it even more special. The bar is located on the 2nd floor and you need to walk in at Buckskin before you can enter the secret door.

A perfect place to showcase Taiwan craft whiskeys. I always bring my friends who are visiting Taiwan here and the experience has always been amazing. They also have a great variety of Kavalan whiskey bottles for retail.

Warm welcome from the staffs, Bartender recommendation and so with signature menu is recommended. Amazing mix, and creative. Atmosphere is very good. Their whiskey is great, should brought home. I’ll be back again!!!

Wonderful experience! The drinks are phenomenal as expected but the service is next level. Our server Cyrus was very knowledgeable and helpful with great recommendations on different whiskies to try. Also the ice cubes are crystal clear…real whisky drinkers will appreciate this.

My favorite bar in Taipei, maybe Taiwan. It's way more than a nice bar. Although they are a bar starting with KAVALAN whisky, with all kinds of cocktails to show you the possibility of their whisky. But if you look at their menu, this is a bar show you the culture of Taiwan. All kind of elements of Taiwan, food, flower, drinks, taste, and even festival. This is THE BEST bar to show your foreign friends. And a bar you can visit every week and fulfill your holiday with seasonally special. Simply love it. Highly recommended.

What an honor to check out the birth of Taiwanese whisky. Bought tons of whisky and signed up to VIP membership. If I had it my way, I would have purchased 2 of each whisky 😂

Kavalan whisky company runs this bar. Trying for the first time and it was good experience. Although I'm too old a dog to teach new tricks lol. All their offerings I tried have a common fruity sweet rum kind of note. Quite different from good scotch but worth trying.

Bar bites choice is good, tried the garlic fries and cold cut with cheese. Was nice.

Highlight though is the Taiwan style friendly service.

Brian was serving me. The flight was an experience - great presentation as they drew it from the casks and then great taste. Really cool experience - I’ll definitely go again the next time in Taipei!

I really enjoyed this bar. I’ve never been able to try Kavalan Whiskey before but the flight was phenomenal. The staff recommended a few and they were all great tasting. The atmosphere is really calm and relaxing.

If you’re thinking that this bar is just a pit stop that you don’t need to go to, I highly recommend you change your mind. James the bartender is truly a master of his craft. We’ve all had cocktails that were either too bitter, too sweet, or too sour, but that was not the case with my experience. James achieved the perfect balance of ingredients with all of the cocktails I ordered. He also knows everything about the drinks you’re ordering and is able to accurately explain to you what you’re ordering before you actually get it. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in Taiwan!
