This mysterious place is hidden in a small road near NTNU. Can’t tell how many customers are in until you walk inside. They provide only set menu. With compulsory to have minimum average order of 800NT each person. Their Japanese style cuisine are beautifully presented. But our table view point can clearly see toilet bowl eventhough we ask them to pull down the curtain but another staff pull them up again. So the food tasted bad after all because of the toilet view.

Enjoyable, very filling. It didnt have a specific theme but all dishes are decent.

This restaurant didn't disappoint. It exceeded our expectations. The service was efficient, the staff knew exactly what to do. Pace of dishes was not rushed, giving us ample time to enjoy each course while putting in conversations during and between courses. We couldn't get the lobster selection as we didn't pre-order. The sashimi was excellent and special mention would be the grilled pork. Certainly worth a 2nd visit.

Great dining experience at such an ancient preserved Japanese style home , overall. You can even book tours during day time.

I had the meal set of seafood. Price range is high however you can still be pretty full by all the exquisite cuisine.
You have to wear socks to go in, or else you have to purchase their NTD$10 socks. Which in my opinion is pretty decent :)
We had the tatami room,which to be honest is quite uncomfortable to sit throughout the whole meal, but that’s just me.

Amazing! The quality of food is great!
We have a great time here with yum food and relaxing ambience.
A set includes a main dish, some side dishes, and unlimited rice and soup.
One of side dishes— boiled winter melon is really yum.
We got a cake for free because of birthday by adding line friends with the restaurant.

Sense the historical feelings as gradually approaching the restaurant- nostalgic atmosphere around the old Japanese style house.
The food here is decent but just a bit pricy, since there is a minimum charge of NTD 500/person ($18) in the dinner time. Recommend check out the English menu to see which dining time is doing better for you before making rsvn and enjoying your meals there!

This place is a good example of transforming an old Japanese dorm into a new restaurant without losing its historical signatures. The food here is simple and good. I recommend their specialty coffee drinks. Make sure you make reservations before you come and always wear socks in order to best preserve the wooden floor.

Really awesome old Japanese 1930s historic house, antiques, kept the cool vibe

Foreigners are sleeping on this place because it is a bit intimidating.

Don't be afraid: come in, walk around the house, take in the vibe. Take your shoes off if you want to be inside-inside. They do have tatamis and Japanese style tables, or western seats too.

Then sit down - they have an English menu or you could just translate. If you don't know what to do, take the set menu. If you wanna order a la carte, the pork was my personal highlight. The appetizer slider (of which I posted a picture) was also quite stunning: simple but incredibly elaborate at once. The flavours were absolutely unexpected for me.

All in all, one of the best lunch experiences I have had in Taipei. A stunning place with fantastic food that feels homely and daring at once. An absolute must-try.

Food is 4/5, the "Japanese style" house is pretty, somewhere you can feel chill with friends, mosquito a lots, spray some insect repellent before your visiting
