Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei

A wonderful luxury hotel! The rooftop pool has incredible views. It’s heated and the hot tub is so nice. The beds are so comfortable and they have every amenity. Loved it here! Great location and kind staff!

I fled here after encountering a cockroach at the Grand Hyatt, where I defaulted to stay as I have status. I booked with Amex Hotels & Resorts, which comes with some nice upgrades. This was my first experience with Shangrila - and it was in an area I liked (Da'an) so I booked it! Plus it got me extra points and qualified me for a discount I usually never use with my Platinum Card so I thought why not?

Shout out to Front Desk Duty Manager Angela who really ensured my stay was amazing! I was able to check in early and check out late (part of FHR). (BTW I was impressed they had 5 people available doing check ins so I didnt have to wait... at the Grand Hyatt they had like 3 people for everyone including people w status so had to wait 20 minutes! Terrible.) I got upgraded to the top floor. As part of Amex FHR, I got a ton of fruit, pastries (pineapple cake! taro pastry! canele?), chocolates in my room waiting for me upon check in! Room was impeccable and thoughtful - I love to watch TV while soaking in the tub and there was a TV in the bathroom for exactly that as well as a little stand in case you wanted to put water or stuff there. Fresh orchids in the bathroom! Great toiletries. Loved the turn down service every night with the little excerpts from Lost Horizon.

Also loved the breakfast buffet - it was 10x better than the Grand Hyatt and blissfully cockroach free. There's Indian, American, Chinese(custom order congee!), salad, tons of fruit, fruit juices, teas, coffee, etc. And all the food was quite good actually!!! I ended up eating a lot at breakfast while staying here.

Gym was also good! But most spectacular was the top floor pool (heated!) and JACUZZI!

Service was also fantastic - from housekeeping, restaurant waiters, to bellboys (bring luggage straight to room and put it on the luggage holder for you, Hyatt didn't even offer me luggage assistance >
Am now a Shangrila convert (plus I think it has a more pleasing Asian touch than the American chains). Now staying at the Shangrila Tainan and on my way to Shangrila status!

ALSO: BED WAS AMAZING and room was SUPER quiet. I have insomnia, and had some of the best sleep of my life here. Need to buy the mattress for my house.

We only stayed 2 nights while in transit but we are definetly glad we chose to stay at the shangri-la. The staff was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The location was ideal being closer to the 101 building and the night market. But one of our favorite things was the breakfast buffet, it's worth every penny. The hotel had some very festive decorations due to the new year celebration.

We are staying in a family room now. Everything is in its pristine condition. The staffs are professional and made you feel welcome. We spent quite some time at their gym. The facility is not spacious but it has everything you need. Overall, we are having a very good time here.

Great stay rooms clean staff was very attentive and informative when asked about the area. The location was good as it served a good spot for all transit. All was expected of a Shangri-La !

Unforgettable experience at the Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei!

My family and I spent Chinese New Year (Feb 8-11) in a plaza suite room on the 30th floor facing Taipei 101 and Elephant Mountain. We had such an amazing time we decided to stay another four nights in a plaza suite (35th floor) (Feb 14-18) when the opportunity arose.

The entire experience was excellent. We had a car and enjoyed free parking in the clean parking garage. The entire building is well-maintained and adorned with marble walls and tasteful Chinese artwork. Check-in was smooth and we were able to get to our room quickly.

What made us come back for another four nights was the numerous inclusions that came with the plaza suite, including access to the Horizon Lounge. We loved breakfast in the Lounge which included both buffet items as well as classic Taiwanese dishes made to order. We also had the option to utilize the breakfast buffet on the 6th floor, but preferred the intimacy of the lounge. The lounge also provided a light afternoon tea which was perfect for our son to eat after his nap. The standout of course was happy hour. We loved going to the lounge after spending our day touring the City to enjoy the view with great food, drinks and cocktails.

The rooftop pool was unreal. The view is amazing and the pool is heated. There is also a hot-tub attached to the main pool which was perfectly heated.

What ultimately made this hotel standout is its wonderful staff, especially those in the Horizon Lounge . They paid particular attention to and care for our son, which was sincerely appreciated. This included making made to order items to help avoid our sons allergies and setting up a high-chair each time we arrived.

In conclusion, we had such a great stay and hope to one day have the opportunity to stay again. Do not hesitate to book this hotel for a great stay in Taipei!

What a beautiful hotel. The decorations this time of year were amazing. The staff have been lovely so far. We are here for 6 nights.
So many bars and restaurants in the hotel all serving delicious food and great cocktails.
There is a mall next door with a food court and supermarket.

Stayed there for 1 week and it was one of the best hotels ive stayed in! Loved the pool and sauna room. The room is very clean and it also has a nespresso machine which was god send considering most cafes im taipei dont serve good coffee !
Location isnt quite convenient , this wasnt an issue as taxis are aplenty and cheap.

Overall a pleasant stay at Shangri-La. You’ll be greeted by friendly porters once you step outta the car. Concierge and lounge staffs were hospitable and helpful. Room was cleaned daily and well kept. Great view too. Lounge brekkie was 👍🏻👍🏻.

Ordered room service pizza. Was very decent, wouldn’t recommend.

Waters are free, and shaving kit is free. The service is very friendly and nearly everyone spoke English.

Toilet was very high tech.

Check out the pool on the top deck and the hot springs on the 6th floor.

Phenomenal service from all hotel staff! Loved the breakfast and dinner buffets. The view from our room was amazing.

Buffet was fantastic, so many choices and cuisines from several cultures. Both adults and children alike all very happy!
