1789 Café by Cyrille Courant

Ordered a St.honoré and I like it a lot, all parts balance well. The wasabi & grapefruit macaron isn't as impressive but still nice.

The minimum charge is $200, which is not bad since the minimum order of most dessert shops in the area is a drink.

Well-made classic French desserts, nothing out of the ordinary or particularly innovative. Most of the cakes are a tad smaller than found elsewhere but the price sort of reflects that.

There are also macarons, chocolates, truffles, and cookies apart from the cakes. Dining space is fairly limited and can seat about 14 ppx. They don't take phone reservation for the cakes, so you'd have to visit in person.

The whole space is decorated lavender and white, and bathroom is also very clean. It's a great place to spend a few hrs in the afternoon!

As far as I know, this is the only place in Taipei that sells genuine éclairs. I definitely recommend the salted caramel ones. They also sell king cake (a.k.a "Galette des rois") around the end of the year and those are delicious. Their "pains au chocolat" are also quite nice and cheap (60元). Prices are reasonable considering how good and hard to find these products are.

Picked up my order today at their Ren Ai shop. I am a Mont Blanc maniac and found 1789 Mont Blanc is absolutely amazing. Apart from the usual purée, you can find chestnut pieces and chestnut paste in every single bite. Love it, Thumbs up. 👍🏻

We are back again. Arrived at 1pm. Had some pastry and the are still as good as before. However we are kind of disappointed as the crossiant we wanted is sold out. Hope to have it next time! 😊

One of the best dessert shops i have been to in Taipei. The eclairs tasted great, chocolate mousse and the Oh Lala were delightful. Shop is pretty small but the ambience was very relaxing. Owner was very friendly and staff was very helpful. Great place to visit if you have some time to spare!

Other than one of the staff being kind of a b* the other day when we came to order the cake, the cake was beautifully made and definitely delicious! we loved it and would 100% recommend to friends!

Love the chocolate cake ,texture tastes smooth and rich, mixed with hazelnut flavour which is an ordinary cake but surprisingly taste good.
Lemon tart. One of my favourite, less creamy taste more citrus mousse texture, combined with cookie based together becoming a comforting mouthfeel dessert.

仁愛店去過兩三次，偶然發現有間更方便的忠孝店！帶孩子放風之後補充體力的好地方！

美味繽紛的閃電泡芙，完全不膩口，內餡搭配讓人驚喜又滿足，是熱愛甜點的我，近期吃到很滿意的哦。

低消一人200相當合理，茶雖不能回沖但很大一壺。後來在菜單看到雙人下午茶套餐覺得很划算！下次一定找閨密來享用。

最後，不好意思那天帶著孩子製造比較多噪音，要特別謝謝爽朗健談的可愛老闆娘，不但客氣幽默的接待我們，還帶來小驚喜！

It has been 2~3 years already since my family's original/last 3~4 times visit to the 1789 Café Pâtisserie - Renai Shop.  Last weekend, incidentally, we found the newer and for us more convenient 1789 Café Pâtisserie - Zhongxiao Shop.  It turned out to be a great place as well, especially to re-charge our exhausted bodies after hanging out in the neighborhood park with our energetic 4 years old daughter.

We picked two colorful Éclair and one Mille Feuille with surprisingly nice balanced and abundant stuffing, which tasted wonderfully delicious, as opposed to ones from other stores that sometimes quickly feel too rich.  Although the tea couldn't get a re-fill (which comes without the tea bag in it), fortunately it was served in a sufficiently large tea kettle.  We later learned the existence of a bargain afternoon tea set in the menu, which would be a perfect reason for us to arrange a return visit.

Finally but not least, we apologize but appreciate the understanding and tolerance by the friendly, adorable, humorous and charismatic lady manager (?/owner?), about the noise and disturbance caused by my naughty daughter (smearing the nice clean big window with her no-so-clean palms, for example), who yet still lucky and happily received a couple pleasant and generous surprise warm gift of Macaron.  Thank you again.

Amazing eclair! Got there at 4:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon and most of the eclairs were sold out already - either get there earlier or go to their Da'an branch! The Da'an branch has more chocolates and eclairs whereas this branch has yummy croissants 😋

We’ve only tried their birthday cake(sugar free chocolate Bundt) . The cake is lovely. Moist, rich and not too sweet. Would love to order an eclair or croissant next time

Yeah. Excellent quality and ingredients equals delicious French pastries that have to be top tier in all of Taiwan. The cherry croissant is worth a second helping !! Chocolate lovers beware

Hands down best eclairs in the city. The hazelnut one is especially wonderful, very rich in flavor, the perfect kind of creamy consistency, and accompanied by a satisfying bite into the pastry. Superb.

The large St honore birthday cake is also gorgeous. Highly recommend for parties. this. shop. is. the. best.(also they have amazing white chocolate cookies)

One of the finest place I've visit on my short trip to Taipei, everyone was super kind! My friends and I are all Muslim, when we came and the wife of the chef saw us wearing hijab (head scarf) she told us right away on which one is halal or not in a very kind and informative manner, very nice of her! I'll make sure to visit again on my next trip to Taipei! 👍

Amazing dessert shop I am definitely coming back whenever I have a chance. The Mango Charlotte and raspberry cheesecake were delicious! The host was super friendly and courteous. Give this place a try you won't regret it.
