Absolutely amazing boardwalk by the wetlands off taichung!
Be sure to layer up as the winds get incredibly strong. 20 degrees can feel like 10 especially in the winter. Lots of people come to take pictures in the sunset, and the parking lots around there charge 50 Taiwan dollars for cars.

The wetlands were very beautiful, I heard that they have amazing sunrises and sunsets, but it was cloudy today, but still very beautiful. It is peaceful to go in the morning when no one is there. There’s lots of fun little crabs running around. And you can get some very nice pictures That make it look like you are walking on water with nice reflections in the water. Parking is easy.

Went starting of Autumn when the wind starts to blow and temperature is around 23 degree around noon.
Absolutely beautiful with the respect of wild life. The walkway is beautiful constructed to prevent people from destroying the wetland ecosystem by stepping on it and yes, there is a NT 50-250k fine.
I suggest you come in slippers, walk to the end of the walkway and walk the sand.
Beware, the wind is very strong, like typhoon wind. If you don’t hold your phone tightly, it will fly off your hand.
Absolutely stunning during Autumn and site of the crabs and mud skipper fish.

Visited this place last December 2023, highly recommend this place if you want to chill and watch the sunset. It can get pretty chilly since it’s very windy. If you want to walk in the wetlands, you should bring slippers with you.

Super beautiful 😍
Free entry, 100% worth the visit 👌🏻
Perfect for a bike ride or stroll alongside the wetlands. You can also take off your shoes and walk on the wetlands. It is a beautiful place for sunsets and views, and pictures turn out amazing.

Went around 9.30am and it was not crowded so managed to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time walking around and observing the tiny inhabitants of the wetlands.
Do check out their official website beforehand to confirm on the timings the walkway will be open to avoid disappointment

Extraordinary experience. Be sure to arrive around 4ish if you are driving since you might to locate some place for parking.
I truly feel that this is one of the best experience I had in Taiwan. I truly commend anyone to really come and experience the great wind from windmills, the sunset and the wetland "beach"

Great for sunset and kids and dogs will love it. The water is enough just to splash about. Because its shallow it is very warm and children and run around in it.

Nice place to visit if you are in Taichung. Not easy to get there by public transport. For tourist, it is better to book a taxi for half day (~3000twd) and visit other places nearby that area.

You can see a ton of mini crabs with huge arms! They are sooooooooo cute!
This place is one of the most famous places in Taichung for wedding photos as well.
At the end of the boardwalk, you can take off your shoes and walk on the wetlands. Be careful not to step off the boardwalk before it ends though, as that's a 25k NTD fine!

It is a large wetland area. There's a wooden platform to walk on. At the end of the platform, visitors may walk on the wet sand. Thousands of cool little crabs dot the wetland. Look for the mud skippers in the wet muddy area. Beautiful views of the coast and wind turbines. And no mosquitos.

Beautiful scenic getaway from the hustle and bustle of Taichung. Went there in a cloudy day (no sunset view) but still was great times.
Update from Sept'23. amazing views and great walk on the beach. Not crowded at all on a thursday

A place you must visit at least one time pretty but I believe Taichung government can make it much better to attract more tourist and business

A very crowded wooden broadwalk. Other than that, this place is beautiful as you can observe up close the mudskippers and crabs. A great place to bring your children here to learn about nature.

Probably one of the most jaw dropping moment for me when we went here last Apr. 24. It would've been the best if it wasn't gloomy, but the experience of being "taken away" by the wind is awesome! There is a nearby pastry shop in the parking lotand they sell a yummy lemon cake (for those who like lemons in their cakes).

Beautiful place to go to when it’s low tide. U can even walk on the sand out far from shore. It’s free entry
