Crocodile Island viewing platform

Amazing view! Going there by scooter is convenient. There's also a trail, but one should be careful: there are many steep steps and a lot of grass around. So I was clapping with my hands to keep snakes away when I was hiking there.

Cocodrile Island is a place that worth to been seen. In order to go the best way is by scooter. The road is very nice to drive and you will feel the fresh air as soon as you leave Taipei going up the hills and seeing even when driving very good panorama. Once you arrive be prepared, there is nothing around so maybe bring your bottle of water. But the view is really good :)

Absolutely beautiful landscape.. Magnificent view of Crocodile island. To reach there, start from MRT Xindian station, there will be GR12 bus just outside MRT station. You will be reach to the bus stop Xiaogetou by 35 minutes. There are six junctions in the road while you go to the viewing platform. From Xiaogetou walk down the road where bus stops. Take right turn in the first junction, left turn in the second and third junction, again right turn in the forth junction, take middle road in the fifth junction and right turn in the sixth junction. There is a muddy road from the first viewing platform go up through the road, take left turn and move down by woody steps. You will witness the stunning view of giant crocodile laying on the blue water. Please don't forgot to take water and little snacks because its way more to walk upstairs( around 30-45 minutes). Also GR12 bus won't be all the time. Might be every one hour. Worth to visit, hiking+ scenic beauty+ cool air..!

We went there in the morning, very calm, no crowds, it’s an easy and chill small hike but be careful of bees ! My friend got bitten !
Overall the view is really beautiful, the color of the lake is so blue and the island really looks like a crocodile.
Recommend to drive there because it’s hard to find a taxi/uber.

At the end of a small lane and being quiet place to enjoy the view.
Better to ride a scooter or motorcycle if you are lazy to walk from the police station.

Reminds me of the thousand islands in Hong Kong, great view! Easily accessible by car but the road is extremely narrow, has to be very careful!

It's an easy trail with beautiful view. But the road is very narrow, driving car to here have to very careful!
The water level is abit low during the dry season in summer! But the lake colour is still amazing!

Beautiful view!!! Totally worth it to hike there during summer. Just make sure where to take off from the bus because signal is bad around the mountains.
