Focoso Taipei

the restaurant works hard to give an elegant vibe with high end food. most of the food was fantastic and a few dishes i’d probably not go back to try again (kale salad is the dish that comes to mind). the wine was perfect. overall a good experience.

This is a delightful place to dine. Lovely atmosphere and great food. As a visitor to Taipei this was a wonderful experience. Great service as well can not recommend this restaurant enough.

My wife and I had a wonderful date night. The food was on-point. It was elevated and executed with perfection. We had grilled octopus, burrata with beetroot, pappardelle ragu, steak and then tiramisu … it was epic. Ever dish was excellent. Sophisticated … and to repeat myself executed with precision. They grill over charcoal… the char on the octopus and steak was superb. The steak was just so juicy. I’ve not had a better meal from start to finish in Taipei! The ambience was spot on from the lighting to the music. Proprietor Luke and his team were great. Dinner was relaxed and timed perfectly. A great evening. I would highly recommend it! This is a Taipei gem.

I went there 3 times and was very satisfied every time. The first time we took the 55oz porterhouse, it was perfectly cooked and very tasty (and very big for only 2 of us 😆).

Recently, I ordered the rigatoni alla carbonara with dry-aged duck breast. Both were really good.

They have a small menu, but the quality of the food is amazing! I highly recommend this place, especially if you want your duck cooked but still pink! And it's so far the only place that satisfies me with the way they cook the duck!

The best Italian restaurant I have ever had!!!
I went to Focoso for my birthday meal last weekend, and this is definitely unforgettable. Please order the beef tongue, I still miss the taste until today haha. Last but not least, the staffs here are very nice 😊

We were able to make a reservation only a couple days ahead. The staffs were all very friendly and spoke English fluently.

They recommended a nice bottle of wine to pair with our dishes. The eggplant antipasto was put together very well with lots of vibrant flavors.

Amazing Italian food with friendly staff and great service. The place is owned by a self-trained local Taiwanese who cooks alongside a chef from Italy, so the cooking is authentic Italian. The menu also changes every 2-3 months. The desserts were decent- I just wish that the tiramisu tasted more like rum!

Miss this kind of authentic western food for a while so a friend recommend me to come here. Such yummy food to pair with a glass of Prosecco for a lovely evening. Atmosphere and ambience are great. Staffs and services are warm and friendly. Would definitely come here again!

Every meals here are perfect, and price of wine are also reasonable. Love the atmosphere, food and people here. Definitely need to check special menu on their board , it amazes me every time.

Great food and great value for the wine. Every fish we had was wow, unlike some other Italian restaurants. The owner of the restaurant bus very smart. He knows what he is doing.

I love that the menu doesn't have 1000 different options. They keep it simple, around 4 options per course, but everything is done well!

The service is also great! Even though we don't know the staff, they're always very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable!

Great service. Delicious food. Excellent wine selection. Menu is always changing so always new dishes to try. Been there twice and will plan to go back often. Love their always changing charcuterie board and different versions of caprese salad. Really nice Italian dining experience. One of the best in Taipei.

Great concept and chill atmosphere. It felt a lot like eating dinner with an Italian family, loud but very cozy and comforting. There are also some superb details in the planning of the restaurant that tie the whole experience together including the ice breaker coasters, the long wood table with wine names etched on it, and the restaurant logo itself! Food wise, the burrata, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse were to die for!

Opened down the street from Divino and by the same owner Enrico, we had a great time at the grand opening party on Saturday! The food was executed to perfection, the polenta fries, pollo, and risotto were spot-on delicious. The drinks were also both unique and very tasty. To top things off, the social element was definitely there, the place was hopping!

(Not sure about the food complaints in the earlier reviews, but people need to realize: They didn't finalize their menu and get everything tweaked until April 6th at the grand opening. They only had soft openings before that to fine tune stuff, so I'm not surprised they had issues beforehand.)

I live in Los Angeles and was visiting Taipei as a tourist. I met with a friend of mine who lives here and suggested this restaurant. I had a fantastic time. The Aperol spritz was perfect. The wine selection was good. The food was fantastic. I had the octopus and the burrata was delicious and duck was good. Petra was on point, she super nice and friendly and made the entire experience feel welcoming as if I was having dinner at a friends house.

Forget about the "chains" you know. Like most things in Taiwan, once they have a brand to sell, the product is forgotten.

Focoso is where I go when I want a steak, great wine, and servers who know me by name.

Comfort, quality, and service... they're hard to find all at once.

Enjoy a lot of everything here, wine(of course), dishes and nice service! Steak is a must have, love the smoke salmon which is my personal favor! Thanks chef for the lemon shot and tiramisu.
