Interesting historical information on the major settlements in Tainan and Formosa. Not a huge museum but enough to keep you entertained for an hour and for the price it was very nice.

Very excellently maintained and they extended the bridge over the road the the river side for salt historical information too. Banyan tree house is just amazing how it was conserved. Mind blowing

Former Colonial quarters for workers n offices, somewhat akin to the Asian version of the British colonization of Asia through its British East India company which had its outposts in South East Asia n India. The Tak Kee company was a foreign entity corporation predominantly Dutch incorporated. Today the “ruins” are duly preserved n the overgrown roots n branches which permeate the entire structure add a historical ambiance to this Iconic Treehouse. Walking through the ruins n at the treetop levels/air walk gives one’s a clear elevated view of the entire main building. There are also conducted tours which give a running dialogue of the history of the quarters n the many artefacts on display inside. There is also a calligraphy section of the annex (side building) to the main building where one can try water calligraphy n also see the wonderful display of calligraphy techniques. As is usual for most historical sites in Tainan cost of entry is negligible n it’s definitely a most worthwhile visit. There’s ample parking nearby within clear walking distance and many outlets for food n snacks. A very Instagramable site with colonial structures n nature/tree tops walk/wild roots etc - thumbs up for sure 👍

This is my favorite historic place in Taiwan in my 4 months on the island. There is a wonderful mix of historic preservation, up-close exploration, museum exhibits, gift-shopiness, and botanical splendor. We spent 4 hours here and only left because they were closing for the evening. I do encourage staying that late as the low sun makes for extra beauty and better photos.

Great historical site. The main attraction is the old warehouse which has been completed overrun by trees, literally a "tree house). They a small craft beer counter and I nice souvenir shop with some interesting items. Totally worth the visit!

It's three for the price of one. There is a single story building with a brief history of local salt production and the Tait and Co house which is nicely restored, the room layout has in this case been preserved. Then there is the tree house, not a house in a tree but trees having overrun a house . Well worth the effort.

When my wife first told me we were going to a treehouse, my expectation was a house in a tree; not the tree growing over the whole house. This was really an awesome sight to see how the roots grew over the whole house. It was a place I really enjoyed seeing. You have to see this atleast 1 time.
The icecream shop at the tree house was the perfect place to eat when it started getting warmer.

there was a bird in the back pond fishing. The kids loved watching the intensity of the bird trying to catch a fish.

Awesome tree house and great place to take pictures. There is also a bridge across a small river where you can see the surrounding city. There are vendors and cafes selling ice cream as well.

It was really interesting to see how the trees have totally taken over the old warehouse building. The walkways that they have build going over the warehouse give you a really good view over the roof.
There's a lot of English signage here which really helps.
Inside the building next to the warehouse is a good museum which tells the history of the Anping area. Again there's a good amount of English signage.

The remnants of an old salt storage facility that was abandoned for 60 years and overrun with Banyan trees. The constructed walkways allow interesting views to be had and it really is something different.
There is a cafe, gift shop and toilets on site.
Admission is 50 NTD and includes the whole complex (tree house, merchants house and more). For 150 NTD you can get a combo ticket which includes 5 Anping attractions.
Highly recommended.

Totally worth it for 50nt to explore the many banyan trees with the roots wrapping around the old building. It's like in the Ankor wat, Cambodia but at a much smaller scale. We got here early in the morning so was very pleasant experience without the crowds.

Beautiful place. Took over 60 years for the banyan trees to develop to the one we see now, merging both historical and natural transformation. Great exhibitions inside as well. There are many staircases and twisted branches, so be careful, especially if you are bringing older people.

Very nice attraction to visit. One of a kind that you won't see elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit when in the city. Refer to the photos.

For me personally probably the best place in the whole Anping or Tainan. The tree growing on top of the building is really special. It looks so magically and full of life force 🙏

Cool place to visit and see how the trees have taken over the building. They also have a museum to learn the history of the area and people as well. Definitely recommend going.

A very unique place, huge trees grow among the buildings, the roots tightly glued to the walls, the trunks penetrate through the houses & leaves covering the tops. Very cool & quiet. There is a space for artists or musicians to showcase their creations.

After scorching heat in tree house, you may head here to cool down a little bit. Another glimpse of history.

Apparently, this is a very Instagrammable location for the locals and upon entering the structure you can certainly see why. The tree and plants inside the building have grown to intertwine with the structure, which gives it somewhat of a horror movie look at night. Thankfully, we were here during the early evening and it's just as incredible to witness the capability of mother nature. Stop by if you have the time and be aware there is a ticket fee for entrance.

These place consist of three attractions. First is merchants house which now is the museum of history of trading in Taiwan (you have to start explore the exhibition on the 2nd floor and its timeline will lead you to 1st floor later). And second is Banyan tree house, the most famous ans attractive one in here you could enter and if lucky, sometimes they have temporary events hold inside the house. The last is calligraphy house which really small but also enjoy enough too. There's also have a small cafe where provide beverages and drinks with artist handicrafts and souvenirs for your special one.

Love my visit to this place. Amazed at how the trees can completely overrun and intertwine around and within the warehouse. There was an art exhibition when we were there. It is an old building but the people has managed to infuse arts into history which give its a modern vibe. Full of character! Will go back again.
