Breathtaking experience. Very tiring yet satisfying adventure before this year end as we're able to reach the summit considering that the weather is getting bad as we approach the main peak. But still all our team reached the main peak safely

Absolutely stunning but a little bit too busy for my taste. There was a lot of people of all ages and abilities so sometimes you have to slow down before you can pass them.

Doable in one long day but worth sleeping at Paiyuan and hiking to the top for the sun rise. Not the most challenging hike but some can feel the altitude.

Well maintained trail, some parts in forest, some in full sun. Some bits are little exposed. Great wildlife.

Permit needed.
Full mobile signal 99% of the time.
Please take your rubbish home.

The mountains are often shrouded in a mystical veil of clouds. Wisps of fog and mist drift gracefully between the peaks, lending an aura of enchantment to the landscape. It's as if the mountains themselves are breathing, their secrets whispered through the soft caress of the clouds.

These ancient mountains, with their jagged profiles and rugged contours, seem to touch the heavens themselves. As you ascend into their realm, you can't help but be humbled by their grandeur and magnificence.

s you climb higher, the clouds begin to part, unveiling vistas of breathtaking beauty. The setting sun paints the sky with hues of pink, orange, and purple, casting a warm, ethereal glow over the land.

Whether you're an avid photographer or simply a lover of beauty, these mountains are a photographer's dream. Each vista is a composition waiting to be captured, each cloud formation a work of art.

Well maintained trails. Spent first night at Dong Pu mountain lodge (東埔山莊) to be accustomed the high altitude. Checked in at the Tataka visitor center (塔塔加遊客中心)with the permits in the morning. Caught the shuttle to the trail head (NTD 100 one trip). Hiked 8.5 KM Tataka tail up to PeiYung mountain cabin. 6-7 hour hike depending on your pace. Spent one night at PeiYung mountain lodge with the options of meals purchased and sleeping bags rental. Early rising next morning to climb up to the peak of mountain Jade (Yu Shan) for viewing sunrising. 2.5 KM strenuous mountaineering from PeiYung mountain lodge to the peak 3952Km above sea level. For high adventurers there are multiple peaks, east, wast, south, and north can be accessed from the PeiYung mountain lodge.

The highest peak in Taiwan and also the highest in North Eastern Asia.

The view from up here is simply breathtaking. If the weather is nice, the panoramic view you can see is something that you will never forget.
The hike is around 10.9 km one way from Tataka Saddle, so most people preferred to spend the night at Paiyun Lodge to avoid such long distance in a day. However the capacity of the lodge is limited so you’ll have to be lucky to get chosen from the website to be able to have a place to sleep.

Since the altitude is quite high (3952M), please be aware of any signs of Acute Mountain Sickness. Please have enough rest and measure your own ability before coming.
With enough preparation, Jade Mountain is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing place, worth waking up early to see the sunrise.
Keep in mind that winds are strong there so don’t forget a good jacket!

Hiked from 2am, pitch dark but the trail is well marked and clear. Pit stops along the way and there’s a lodge in mid section for you to rest before the final push to the top. Well preserved natural habitat.

It’s too difficult to book a cabin slot so we took a single-day trip. Must try for those who loves trekking.

Must see. One of the best hiking experience in taiwan. Enjoyed my single day hike. If you can move fast just start around midnight and come back by afternoon ~ 24 km ! Fantastic views from the top.

Amazingly beautiful~ lucked out today as heavy fog lifted around 7am with beautiful 360 panoramic view of mountain ranges from Alishan to Mount Hehuan and as far as Chiayi city. Not much snow left on the trail with ice around iron cage area just before the summit.

A must to do if you like hiking. The view from the top with the cloud is stunning!

The one day hike is tough it’s about 30km and 1300 of elevation gain starting at 2700m high.

Though we choose a difficult time to hike but it was quite amazing. One of the hardest trails ever hiked. During our hike it was raining and was with heavy winds making it more dangerous. It is as it is….. nature at its best with exquisite sceneries.

One of the best hiking experiences I've ever had. The scenery was like out of a story book. Pretty colours and the weather was perfect (winter time in December). The place was safe and you can take your time along the paths. The accommodation was also great, cosy and food was good enough. The peak was also pretty fun. Just make sure you travel light but with proper clothing. And I mean proper winter hiking clothing. No snow but temperatures can be really low depending on the weather. Overall this was one of my best hiking trips.

The best place I have ever seen before.
Yushan National Park (Chinese: 玉山國家公園; pinyin: Yù Shān Gúojiā Gōngyuán) is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the summit Yushan, the highest peak of the park.[1] The park covers a total of 103,121 hectares including large sections of the Central Mountain Range.[2] The park contains over thirty peaks more than 3,000 meters in elevation, and two-thirds of the area within the park is above 2,000 meters. The elevation difference in the park is 3,600 meters, and there are many canyons, cliffs, and valleys.

27-28th November 2016. What an epic trip. Everyone had told me that it was going to be incredibly difficult, and perhaps the effect of the altitude would come into play. On day 1 - we had overcast, mostly terrible weather... luckily on day 2 when we got up at 2am - by the time we got up tot he top for 'sunrise' it wasn't completely clouded over. Great hike - not as difficult as people make it out to be, especially if you're doing it over multiple days! Enjoy it, and hope for good weather!
