Room A

I visited Room A about three weeks ago while travelling in Taiwan. The concept was explained very clearly by the staff and the my partner and I were left to explore the rich book and magazine offering. The selection is wonderful and you can bring as many books and magazine to your table as you can. Even with other customers reading or working the atmosphere is very relaxed and the place is quiet.
I love the space, the interior design and all various nooks and crannies which inspire new discoveries and letting the mind be free. I was particularly interested in one Taiwanese book and as we were leaving, one kind staff member handed me a little piece of paper with information about the book she noticed I was so interested in. Such a lovely and thoughtful gesture! Thank you ❤

Pay by time café. 60 NTD for the first hour, then 1 NTD per minute. Black coffee, tea, juice... etc. are free. Foods and other beverages are also available upon request. There are plenty of Japanese books and magazines here.

I love this place, came here several times in 2015 to write parts of my Bachelor thesis.

Plus, I even got inspired to do my art project called ‘Reading Shelter’ in Hamburg, Germany, after I spent some days in this incredibly fine place.

Yours is a great concept, idea and beautiful oasis for text lovers. Thank You for being an inspiration and for doing pioneer work, because we need much more places like this! ❤

Cozy and comfortable space for reading, and I see Room A as an oasis in the very city centre with decorated balcony and interiors. Room A seems a sister reading/cafe space with A Room, another one located not far from here. Room A offers numerous first hand magazines and specialised in Japanese context. I enjoy the every reading of TRANSIT, a Kodansha-made Japanese travel magazine.

Notably, the staffs are superb kind and you could either concentrate on your reading or talk with them. Somehow the customers, not knowing why, most look serious and not smiling even notice read something funny.

Fantastic atmosphere for studying / working. They have a quiet policy in the afternoon, though, so it's not suitable for phone calls or group discussions.
Entrance is around the corner from the indicated address up a flight of stairs with no permanent sign.

Relaxed yet focused atmosphere. Perfect place to work, read or just wind down.

Such delicious coffee! One of the best I've had in Taiwan and I've tried many. I love their policy of no plastic bags or non-disposable coffee cups.

Special hidden café with its own character. Here, u don't pay for your coffee. U pay for ur time. All u can enjoy magazines, wifi, drinks are available.

Fantastic atmosphere, secret hidden place, full of nooks and crannies, I want to come here again during the day, highly recommended!
