Love the streets very cultural location. We spent a lot of time exploring the streets and loving the strawberry mochi and local snacks. Worth a visit have a feel for the contrast generation.

Nice old street selling rare herbs and spices as well as good souvenirs. Most things seem overpriced and you can see it due to every shop havjng a lexus or mercedes parked out front…but its nice to walk around and spend a lazy day. Lots of interesting smells!

Nice street to walk around. Our hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Dihua Street, so it was very convenient for us. There are many cafes and dining options, you can stop anytime when you get tired of walking. Highly recommended, especially if you are staying nearby.

A district filled with authentic foods and culture, and people's old time memory.
A must visit tourist attraction. The nearby temple is famous, worth a trip to ask some luck through a meditation.

The authentic Taipei…good food, interesting shops. Some odours are quiet unusual for European noises…..

At first I thought this was gonna be like an area where there are a lot of old stores that is selling heavy foods, but it turns out as a place where you can enjoy buying small snacks (and also try some samples, believe me it was really fun).
As the name suggest, 年貨大街(迪化街)is a place where you can buy all kinds of food and merchandise especially when approaching Chinese New Year(春節).
There is also a free calligraphy booth, probably at the front of Da Dao Cheng Theater(大稻埕戲苑),but as of today, this booth closed in 8 P.M. You just have to wait in line and do your calligraphy.
There is a lot of other places and vendors that I have not visited yet. Personally, this place is giving me a 'night market' vibes.

I bought a lot of ready-packed soup and dried japanese scallop for everyday soup. There is also a lot of ready-packed herbal tea for easy consumption. Affordable price too. There is also some interesting souvenier shop too.. Recommended to go there!

A place where you can find everything you need to prepare for Chinese New Year. But not for that reason only. There is so much more in the area and fun to explore, you should go see for yourself! Sooo many different good food samples to try out! The historical buildings are so beautiful to look at as well.
Worth visiting. A must in Taipei!
