Eslite R79 Store / Zhongshan Underground Book Street

Really interesting concept. Worth visiting if you love bookstores or you're in the area. Note for tourists, they do provide tax refunds but for lifestyle related items, you've to go to the cashier inside the expo store. For books and other items (cds, vinyls, etc), please head to the cashier inside the publishing store that's opposite of starbucks.

I'm rating the store purely on its re-use as a location. Great idea to fill the underground walkway with books. Many genres available looking at it.

Incredibly cool bookstore with a wide selection of books and stationary. Plenty of designer stores aeound. Definitely worth a visit. There are also popular dance spaces at the end. Fantastic use of underground space.

Quite unique Eslite. Feels like a book store in a long train. One side is book stores. The other side is an array of small shops. The area in between was hosting a photographer show when I was visiting. Nice to stop by if you were taking the subway. Not so great to read though. There are barely any seats.
Service is great! I had a long book list of about 10 books with specific publishers. The cashier spent 15 mins, looking up for the books and brought the available ones back to the counter. Very patient and polite manner.

Beautiful underground bookstreet with a wide selection of books. There are also quaint shops along the undergroun street. The only downside is the metro toilet along the street where the hygiene level was less than ideal. Overall a great stroll from Zhongshan MRT to Shuanglian MRT station.

Fantastic! A three-hundred meter long underground serpentine bookstore. What more needs to be said? (Not interesting is your don't like books, and the majority of titles are in Chinese.)

Great place to get some books. Conveniently located in the underground train station. There’s some exhibition going on while I’m over there.

You can always find the books which you cannot get at Eslite's other locations but copies are available here.

A long corridor stores with all the books. So beautiful, suit for 'book worm' like me.

Vast selection of books which focuses on Culture and history of China, Taiwan, HK and Japan. The ambience is nice and the concept of walkway bookstore is really cool

Pretty awesome bookstore tucked away on the side of the station. Good selection of books, but don’t expect to be in a cavernous labyrinth of bookshelves like their flagship. The titles were nice, but some books can be pretty beat up and low on stock.

One can find virtually all and any genre of books at this underground Eslite bookstore street.

Those who love reading will love the place. There are all kinds of books here. Traffic is very convenient.

It's one of the best underground malls in Taipei especially for book lovers !

Taking a short walk in the nearby area is highly recommended , you would explore a different Taipei !

You can enjoy reading here in peace as the atmosphere here makes you feel like you're in a library. Civilized bookstore indeed.

This is a great store. It's expensive, but carries high quality audio equipment. I purchased the 1 more dual driver in ear headphones. There was a defect unfortunately, but the staff took care of returning the pair to the manufacturer as well as getting me the replacement pair. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly without feeling like you are pressured to buy. I hate when stores are too pushy or jump on you when you walk through the door. So I just really was impressed with this store in general.
