Sanching Temple

The largest Taoist temple in Taiwan. Well decorated and maintained. My personal highlight was the breathtaking view of Mei Hua Hu and Yilan. Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby!

Great temple to visit if you are around.
Probably best to come by car/scooter since it’s a bit uphill and remote.
We went on the way to rive rafting since it was close and spend around 30min there to have a good look and some pictures.
Parking was no problem and some seller around for snacks and drinks

The headquarter of Taoism located above the Meihua Lake, Yilan. It's a majestic classical Chinese temple. The three big major statues of Gods just locate in the main palace. You could pray to them with sincerity and sometimes you may feel the Gods in front of you smile which is not scary but warm and joyous. The view from the square is super good to see the whole lake, the towns and mountains layer around.

Grand view, also a lovely hike all the way from Plum Blossom lake to the tea gardens of Dongshan.

I'm not religious but felt very comfortable and welcomed at this temple. The architecture is stunning and the view of the lake is breathtaking. Came here during the day but I hear the sunset / night view is fantastic. Plan to spend about 30 - 45 minutes here.

A Taoist Holy Temple with peaceful atmosphere

This is the most memorable temple I went to in Taiwan. All temples start looking the same after you've been to a few. This one stood out because of its cleanliness, intricate stone carving displays, and amazing landscape.

Well kept temple in beautiful mountain surroundings. This temple is remarkable for its unusually large but exquisitely constructed statues of the temple deities. Come here to see the sunset on a clear day, as the view of the surrounding countryside is magnificent.

This temple is near 梅花湖,the temple has good view,and I see local culture.

What an amazing place. Could really feel the good spirit of that place. What an amazing view from that place also. Simply awesome!
