Saw some negative reviews going in so was a little apprehensive but absolutely delicious series of dishes. Highly recommend. Service was great, loved the atmosphere and fit-out, excellent wine served by a knowledgeable sommelier. Also the presentation of each dish was gorgeous. We loved it.

A unanimous vote of 'one of the best meals of our lives' was present in my group. MUME is underrated and I would 10/10 travel just to Taipei to have another meal there. Not only was the food memorable, but the service was impeccable and their craft beers and cocktails were curated and thoughtful.

I really enjoyed the whole experience over the course of 2.5 hours at MUME. The dishes were carefully prepared and plated, with a focus on flavours, textures and colours. Each dish was unique but worked well hand in hand as a dinner course and you progressed through it. Definitely worth the visit, and I think the more casual atmosphere also helps to appeal towards a younger crowd. The cocktails were interesting, so definitely consider them to go along with your dinner course!

Visited 2 asia's top 50 restaurant during our trip and while the other is rated higher, I personally prefer Mume. Not only are the dishes beautiful, they are delicious as well. Top 3 favourites are corn soup, cuttlefish pasta (super interesting as the pasta is made of cuttlefish) and bonito. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again.

Tucked in a quiet lane in Da ‘An district, an unassuming restaurant with dim ambient lighting, brass fixtures and wooden textures, and a small bar at the entrance, is Mume. I’m specifically intrigued by their savoury cocktails, so we ordered “Croissant”, a buttery and fruity rum-based and “New York Strip”, a smokey and silky whiskey-based with frothy beef drippings. The tasting menu consists of 10 courses (2 of which are sweets and 4 are seafood). I really didn’t mind the focus on a surf menu because I am all about the “umami” and each course was delectably savoury! I also particularly like the use of Chinese cuisine ingredients such as pickled radish, preserved mustard greens, water bamboo and olives – which really amped up the flavour profile and left a very well balanced palate. The abalone and cuttlefish were my 2 favourite dishes. Definitely will come back on my next visit to Taipei!

Meal dated back 2021.

Embark on a culinary journey at Mume Taipei, where each dish is a masterpiece of flavors and textures.

The restaurant, adorned with fresh herbs and flowers, provides a delightful contrast to its dimly-lit faux-industrial interior.

Mume's menu expertly melds seasonal Taiwanese ingredients with Nordic influences, utilizing modern techniques for a symphony of tastes.

The dining service, marked by professionalism and genuine warmth, enhances the overall experience.

Nestled in Taipei, Mume is a haven for those seeking a unique and unforgettable dining adventure.

The chic yet inviting ambiance sets the stage for a culinary gem that continues to shine brightly.

Everything was perfect on that night.
Food was innovative and undoubtedly delicious. A great combination of western/ modern cooking techniques with touches of traditional/ locally sourced ingredients.

I also ordered wine pairing with 4 glasses of wine. Every single one goes with the dish very well. A very good work from a talented sommelier.

And or course staff was friendly and the service was meticulous.

No wonder so many awards and recommendations, no one should miss it.

Went with group of girl friends and we sat in a basement private room as group of seven - away from the hustle of restaurant. enjoyed interesting international elevated take on Taiwanese produce. My favourite dish was pasta made out of cuttlefish . Portions were smallish, presentation beautiful and food fresh. Recommended- wanted more at end of the meal !

In December 2022 I had the pleasure of dining at MUME. Truly a delightful experience and the staff were incredibly helpful! Being new to Taipei at the time, the staff helped me locate a nearby bar with availability to watch the World Cup final.

Food was delicious which was to be expected but nothing mind blowing in terms of fine dining. Still highly suggest giving them a visit!

A family member was visiting and wanted to try a nice place. I'm a cheap eater because I have a pretty boring palate, but I was happy to try an experience. Most of all the service was amazing. Really genuinely kind and informative staff. They called in advance to ask about dietary restrictions and kept one of our groups food non spicy. A lot of local game and veg. Small plates but that works great for me. I'd come back frequently if I could afford it!

Definitely a Michelin worthy dining experience. Modern, unassuming decor with a seasonal menu focused on local ingredients. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable in wine selections. Most importantly, they make a point to solicit feedback from customers on their meals to see what customers have enjoyed vs not. A great experience. Worth the $!!!

One of the fine dining restaurants in the city:

Great ambiance, staff are properly trained, and the food (both taste and flavor) was thoughtful & awesome. The attention details not only one the presentation of each dish but also how they “cut” their food. (Ie when they dice the onion, each dice looks in similar size) and this kind of attention to detail is throughout the entire course.

Cocktails are interesting, wine selections are natural wine-based, & beer selection is limited.

Staff generally speaking are knowledgeable. You can ask them, anyone, about any dishes that you are eating they are all able to tell you what ingredients in the dish.

Service: it is fine dining that usually means it takes time (between 2 ~ 2:30 hours). We took the last seating reservation 8:30 pm and left around 11:20 PM. Like any fine dining around the world, even we passed the restaurant’s closing time, they would not rush us. I personally the kitchen managed speed and time reasonably well.

Special mention: the bread is freshly baked in their kitchen. I like the crispness of the outside layer. Again, they adequately managed.

Overall price, I think it is well balanced between service, food, and wine selection. It is not on the low end, but you are up for it; this restaurant will not disappoint you.

Definitely lived up to its Michelin star. Worth a visit when in Taipei. The star of the meal was this cuttlefish prepared and cooked to have the texture of pasta. All dishes used Taiwanese ingredients such as Changhua white asparagus and Yilan prawn.

We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had such a great time. The service was great, with every dish well explained to us. Every bite was a delight, and we were almost too full by the end of the meal. Well delivered. Will be back again for sure to see what Chef Ernest has in store for the guests. Highly recommended.

First time here and had such a great moment!
Taste, service, atmosphere: everything was just splendid.
We loved how the taiwanese ingredients were mixed with ideas from both Europe & Asia.
A real good moment and also appreciated the special dessert for the anniversary.
And finally perfect service with attention & detailed explanations about the dishes.
-> Thank you Andy for the service, we had a wonderful moment

Thank you MUME, highly recommended!

Amazing meal from start to end. Very impressed with the service, food and value shown here. Had the short menu which seemed to borrow elements from Japanese and Scandinavian food, the chefs here clearly go for a lighter palette but the dishes are superbly plated and well balanced. Stand out dish for me was the bonito with chilli oil. Only problem we had was with the cocktails which were sounded really good in paper but was pretty bad in reality. A must go in my opinion.

I think I can safely say this is the best course I've eaten in years. Every dish using predominantly local ingredients is eclectically assembled with modern European techniques to produce flavours that fills your tongue with joy. The stars, if I had to choose, was the main of wagyu beef cheek (cuts like butter), the abalone (briny liver sauce was a flavour bomb), the chili butter (so creamy and umami) and the choux au croqueline at end (mouthful of chocolatey goodness with an awesome fig jam). The service was also friendly and top class. Highly recommended and I'll definitely come again if I visit Taipei in the future...

It’s my third time here at MUME. Love the creative yet well-balanced Taiwanese ingredients mix-match in every dish. The bonito dish was beautifully presented with three kinds of infused oil (turmeric/Angelica/basil?). My favorite dish of the night goes to the smoked milkfish with abalone sauce and pickled mustard greens, so tender and flavorful!

Also the vibes here are casual and very relaxed. Can’t wait for another visit!
