best night market in Taichung. food and people here are much better than feng chia night market.

My family and I enjoyed ourselves so much! The kids had fun playing at the magnetic ball game machines. The pineapple slushee, sausages, grilled meat, octopus balls etc were so yummy. Fantastic place for visitors who would like to experience an open-air night market which locals frequent!

Hanxi night market is a traditional local night market that is not a tourist kind of spot. Local Taiwanese love to visit this as it has local flavours and fun games around for kids.

There’s whole lots of food to choose from and desserts 🍨 I highly recommend to walk one round first before starting to buy the food. If you start buying first you will miss the good stuff at the end.

Carpark is around but you will need to queue and walk a little.

I enjoyed my first time at Hanxi Night Market that I went back again a few days after. I love the seafood! The grilled oysters, grilled clams, grilled fish, churros and mala crayfish are amazing. ♥ There were a lot of people on both times I visited. So make sure to bring a stroller if you are bringing a kid along. It would be hard for them to walk around. Aside from food stalls, there are also a lot of random stuffs being sold for a very affordable price and the usual games you see on night markets.

On weekends, super packed and busy.
I suggest Uber, taxi, bus there... very limited parking.
Lots of street food, games, and a few vendors.
Personally, I got a sugar cane drink (good) purple yam pancakes. My suggestion if you're buying items, wait, prices are cheaper in the middle than at the end of each row. Also, use the restroom before you go. Otherwise, you'll be waiting for hrs.
Try the claw machine place outside the market, super easy and fun.

Super Crowded Night Market where most locals go. Love the lively ambience. Must go

Night market where the most locals visited, all located within a Big square place, not like others where you have to walk through different streets. Amazing unique food that is cooked infront of you such as churro, Corn cakes grinded with stone grinder, Fried chicken and Pig blood rice cake and of course smelly tau hu too. But I am most attracted to see So many types of games (gambling)available for all age range from kids to adults.

Smaller than Fengjia, but nevertheless a nice place for affordable cheap eats and fun. Taichung is surprisingly easy to get around using buses, but the frequency can be a little sparse for some routes.

Lots of games to play and food to eat, many of the same type of foods but it is a proper night market place ! Shops were all friendly

more traditional night market--you'll find everything a night market should have--but did not see a lot of creative or fusion offerings (except for a "life saving" red tea which was tea served in pouches normally used for saline/donated blood). prices seemed to be one of the lowest we have seen.

really liked:
-the papaya strawberry milkshake from 台中牛乳大王.
-the boneless pork ribs from 御膳無骨排骨酥.

really disliked:
-the deep fried battered chives stick 韭菜條 from 阿山哥炸粿 (it was extremely greasy, oily, and soggy).

some gripes are that the walking pathways are very narrow; not great during COVID19.

It was a great experience visiting this night market. Opens only for 4 days a week, it is a feast for foodies. I have try so many taiwanese street food here.

Almost foods are delicious and valuable, the night market is wide and fun, full of your stomach ,enjoying tour in Taichung. It’s really recommended to visit it.

Decided to visit here instead of Fengjia Night Market after a recommendation by a local bartender—glad we did! Hanxi is much less of a tourist trap, most people shopping at the market were locals.

The market offers a wide variety of local street food, clothing stalls, household good stores, and even some earring stalls. What’s most notable about it however is it’s wide variety of game stalls: balloon shooting, a win-your-own-alcohol ringtoss, a catch-your-own-fish game, pinball games or mahjong bingo. The portable toilets are also fairly clean.

Good place to visit for any demographic.

Today I’ve selling our hand made cookies,but the weather was rainy and not so many customers came here,but anyway it’s place is good and I want back again when the weather will be sunny, I think it’s place is very popular and a lot of people will come.
