Beautiful panoramic views all the way up the climb. It's around 20 minutes of just stairs which can be quite intense but I promise the views, day or night, are worth it and incredible. There weren't too many people when I went so it was relatively easy to get good photos. There are at least four different good photo spots all with Taipei 101 in the background so you've got plenty of choice!

Never experience the view at night but will surely try next time! 3/09/2024 Our journey started from Jiuzhuang and passed HU shih park to find this starting route to JIU WU PEAK! It was 14 degrees and average but we all made it to Elephant( Xiangshan Mountain)

Worth the climb. You will definitely perspire but you will enjoy the views of the city. It has different tracks and a few long trails if you want to do trekking. However, you can just stop at the Elephant's peak and enjoy the views during the day or even better during sunset. It has good spots that give nice views of Taipei with the Taipei 101.

A place to visit to have a good view of Taipei 101. Many viewpoints are available. It is quite an intensive climb, but the views up here are worth the effort. Lots of stairs along the route, so it is not suitable for those who are unable to climb too many stairs. It is quite crowded during the weekend.

Elephant Peak provides an enchanting escape for nature enthusiasts. The hike is accessible, but be ready to sweat and fight mosquitos!
The journey will be pleasant anyway, especially before sunset. From the summit, the city's splendor unfolds in a mesmerizing display, leaving you in awe of Taipei's beauty. An absolute must-do in Taipei, for anyone seeking a serene hike with stunning views. Highly recommended. 🐘

Beautiful views of Taipei 101 and the city. Quite a bit of stairs so be prepared but the views are great.

One of the best hiking trails/stairs I’ve been on. Wonderful jungle-like greenery all around you. The views are a must.

Steep walk up to Elephant Peak but definitely worth it. The walk itself is surrounded by greenery and it's all steps. There are little view points along the way already, but stick with it, the view from the top is worth it! Recommend coming here at least once when you're in Taipei.

Make sure to bring water, especially in the warmer months. We went end of November and were still glad we had plenty of water.

Hardest thing I've done in a while.. mega hike, hot , humid , not much of a breeze , vertical, but so rewarding... many times i wanted to quit but kept going... so worth it... plenty of friendly people on the way...take plenty of fluids.. it has water stations, but coming from a cold country, this is extreme heat and leakage is full on

Great walk and climb up to the peak of XiangShan. Came here for the sunset and also view of Taipei and Taipei 101.

Hike up stairs. Approx 30-45 minutes. Great view of Taipei 101 at the peak. Plenty of small rest spots along the way. It was a warm morning and we managed to hike pretty early, avoiding the heat. Bring some bug spray if you’re in shorts- got a few bug bites.
Majority of the hike is shaded.

Pay attention to the maps around the area leading to the stairs entrance. If you’re not looking carefully , some of the signs could be easily overlooked. Entrance is in a side alleyway.

A steep and fairly demanding climb, accompanied by beautiful nature and spectacular views. Absolutely worth the effort.

I would strongly recommend you take the time to visit the Elephant Peak. It’s a free fun walk and it provides some great views.

Do pack some water and maybe a towel :)

20-30 min hike up the peak, 2 viewing platforms in-between, and a rock place with a great view of the sunset

Beautiful place for sunset. Bring bug spray. Trail is lit in the dark so no need for a flashlight on return.

A steep climb that will take 20-25 minutes to reach the peak. There are multiple lookout points with great view of Taipei 101 and the city. Might be too challenging for some.

Views are great and it’s a relatively short hike. It’s normally very busy so expect to wait to get some nice pictures. There are a lot of little trails at the top where you can find some quieter spots. I would definitely recommend this over going up Taipei 101.

Gorgeous views of the city of taipei for only a short (albeit fairly steep) stair climb
