Nanmen Market

This is a market that sells all sorts of non cooked and cooked foods. It has vegetable stands and a food court. Since we are so close to Chinese New Year 2024, we thought it would be interesting to go and check out this market. Wow, people mountain/people sea. There were a lot of people to give this market a special kind of feel when everyone is shopping for the upcoming New Year gathering. Overall, it was great, chaotic, and fun to move amongst the people and vendors buying and selling.

This was the long awaited market , newly refurbished.

It's right next to Chang KaiShek Memorial Hall MRT station, exit 2.

Lots of cured meat and Chinese sausages.
There are many traditional Taiwanese dishes ready for takeaway.
Quite a few Chinese cakes and biscuits.

The food court is rather small, there's this very popular beef noodles, the queue was so long.

This place was very busy and packed with people preparing for Chinese New Year. I was able to find everything I needed for a 10 ingredient dish my family makes to celebrate CNY.
1st floor: cooked food and dry goods
basement: vegetables, fruit, meats, fish, etc
2nd floor: clothing and beauty products? I never made it up there

A place of traditional Chinese food, ingredients and restaurants. You will find yourself immerge into an oriental fanfare. An extremely popular place during new year.

So happy to be here. If you want to experience local market, get in here. You can buy food and bring it home to eat. They have only limited seat at food court. Inside they have various chinese traditional snacks, food, bread, also all types of cooked meal as well as raw food materials.

I had a great experience at Nanmen Market; lots of people there, this place is quite spacious and have great air ventilation.

Nanmen market is an interesting, well-known local market in Taipei and is worth a visit. The indoor market is not big, but it is well-organized and clean. A quick half-hour visit will provide visitors valuable insight into what a Taiwan local market would look like.

At the market, all sorts of local Chinese dry foods, ingredients and goods can be found. Fresh vegetables, seafood, and meat are also available at the market. There is also a food court at the market with many stalls selling ready-cooked food and they look delicious! There were plenty of dishes to choose from and it is probably a great idea to have lunch at the market.

I always like this place, a lot to explore but I couldn’t stay there for too long before becuz of the smell. IT IS SO MUCH BETTER NOW.

nice and clean to shop after the renovation. the food court on the 3rd floor is a nice place to take a break and have a quick bite. Most of the vendors in food court are above average, very satisfying.

It's market. It's clean and so many interesting goods available here.

The tomato beef noodle soup is as good as advertised.

New traditional market with raw ingredients, meat, noodles, dry goods, fish, dried fruit, mushrooms, and spices. There is also take away premade foods downstairs. Upstairs there are about 15 restaurants, Taiwanese, Japanese, India, Korean etc, and lots of seating. The whole building is new. Everything is clean. Smells good. Clean bathrooms. Very convenient. If I worked over here I'd definitely get lunch here.

Clean and nice. Heard it’s one of the most famous market for traditional snacks/dishes in Taipei.

Wide variety of products, bustling atmosphere, clean, beautifully decorated

Multi storey market. Come here to get a quick look and feel of local produce, snacks and food in Taiwan. Ground floor: grocery stores and cooked food shops, along with the famous Kuaiche brand meat jerky. Basement: seafood, meat, vegetables stalls. Second storey: foodcourt.

It's a foodie place . Dry sundry goods at the ground level. There are also cooked food and dumplings wrapped in lotus leaf (zhongzhi) with one that's quite famous . A noodle making stall caught my eye and a sundry store next to the escalator which stocks seasoned stinky tofu , which I recently discovered is yummy albeit an acquired taste . Second level food court has a popular beef noodle stall .beef broth with Chinese herbs in the back with a touch of good spice .

Excellent, diverse variety of prepared foods, dried goods, meat and fruit snacks, and buns and noodles. The zongzi immediately on right are famous and amazing. Samples abound!

New temporary venue for the market. They have shuttle bus from the old market and another MRT nearby. Food court is nice and has good food too.
