Enjoyed the grandeur views from the suspension bridge over the lake.
The house number place is for a tea house on the top of the cliff on the other side of the bridge.

This is a cool riverside tourist area. The two sides of the riverbank are connected via the pedestrian-only Bitan Bridge. There are many attractions and water tours using tour boats in this area. Visitors can also enjoy this area by sitting and relaxing from this beautiful riverside area.

If you are at Xindian, then this is one place that you should visit.
Go in the morning if you want to try out the trails.
Go in the evening if you want to see the night lights and try out water activities.
Noon will be hot if there is no cloud.
Take a slow walk around the neighbourhood and try out the snacks and drinks.

Very nice suspension bridge. There's a sanrio display for colorful Bitan right now and they're super cute and not very crowded right now.
The bridge lights up at night and they have rainbow colors. There's also a small market nearby the bridge and metro, yummy cream puffs for 40 ntd! There's also swan boat rentals right by the water, but we arrived too close to sunset and didn't want to go out on the lake for an hour in the dark, but the option is there.

At first, I unintentionally visited this place, but I was so glad I visited it. It was very convenient to go. I just took a green MRT line to the last stop. And there you go. I could smell of sea water right after I stepped out from the MRT station.
A natural place for local people and visitors to stop by for taking deep breath and fresh air. There is a wooden bridge to walk across. And there are boats for rent.
Strongly recommend if you don't know where to stroll in Taipei.

Beautiful at night with the lights and restaurants. Need to come back during the day and try one of the paddle boats on the river.

The bridge has been an icon for the district of Xindian but it wasn't until 2013 did it get designated as a historic site. I've been to Taipei more than half a dozen times but this was my very first visit. Thanks to the MRT line that was completed in 2014, the area is now readily accessible and is a worthwhile excursion from downtime Taipei. Just get on the Green Songshan-Xindian line and get off at the last station.
From the station it'd be a short walk toward the south to the bridge. However, one big negative is that the road is narrow and has no sidewalk. It felt really dangerous with the cars and scooter zooming by you during your approach to the bridge. Later I did find that, if you're wheelchair bound or you want a safer way (though longer) to get there, go north from the station instead. You'd be on sidewalk, and there'd be a ramp to the bridge level. There are roughly 3 levels: bridge, river bank, and mid-level (not counting the street level).
The bridge is obviously the center of attraction. Walk across it to admire the color of the water which lives up to its name (jade green). Make sure you walk across it to take a photo of the calligraphic name carved on to the rock. The mid-level is where you have access to the long pavilions hosting many restaurants. At the river bank level you can rent boats and ride bikes. I'd love to ride a bike and really cover the entire area next time I visit. This was an exploratory trip. Next time I will come early and spend a whole day here for sure.

Beautiful bridge to walk along. Both sides of the lake offer food vendors, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping stores. It’s a must stop for any visitors to Taipei. The bridge lights up at night too.

Easy to reach via Taipei MRT. Very quiet on a weekday but nothing much to do unless you like to hike through the surrounding forest. Very scenic though

Hasn’t lost its memorable beauty as I recalled since childhood. Obviously, the water has reduced tremendously. The bridge swings vaguely as in my memory. The area provides lots of friendly spaces over the last few decades.
