It’s an old street with rows of Chinese medicinal stores suited in early 20th century buildings. I loved the architecture. The exterior and interior had beautiful and different carvings. There’s an Olympus camera store that has a free exhibit in the store, photos of a photography competition of Taiwan’s landscape. I bought preserved plums here. Pretty reasonable prices and taste very good.

Very nice area for a lazy stroll. The buildings have kept their old style and some of the shops feel authentic too, all of that mixed with fancy design shops and food stalls that sell snacks. It can get very crowded at the start of the street but keep walking straight and you'll find some gems at the end.

Very cool street to wander! Lots of interesting shops, grocers, and restaurants! Lots to satisfy my curiosity! Everyone was friendly but hardly anyone spoke English. Not a problem though.

Not sure about others but I really like this place. There are old buildings, can shop for hand-made products, traditional TW food and is actually not super packed.
There's a Starbucks nearby as well, 3 storeys high. You can stop by there for a break.
Actually, once you enter the street, half a day will pass by quickly.
Totally recommend this place!

Quaint street with old school taiwanese shops and food stores. Lots of handicrafts and such a cute place overall. I happen to have stumbled upon a cute cafe and it was a great experience. Must visit if in Taipei

Dihua street was just what I read online - Heart of the city with old businesses. I loved exploring Dihua street. I spent half an hour walking through the street and would have loved to spend more time exploring the shops and eating some titbits on my way. You can easily spend 2-3 hrs exploring the street buying goods and eating street food. If you are in Taipei for 3-4 days this should definitely be ok your go to list.

If you are in taipei and have more spare time, it is highly recommended to come here and go shopping for dried food. It's also a good place to really understand the life of Taiwanese daily and their culture.

Dihua Street (Chinese: 迪化街; pinyin: Díhuà Jiē) is a street located in Dadaocheng, Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan, winding from the south of the district to the north near Dalongdong. The street, then known as Centre Street (中街), was constructed during the 1850s, when many commercial entities belonging to Quanzhou-originating owners moved in from Bangka. Since then and throughout the rest of the 19th century, Dihua Street has been an important centre for commerce in Taiwanese products and produce such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and for the post-processing of Taiwanese tea.

This is an over - 100 - year - old building which was built in 1904.The building is recognised as a historic site by Taiwan Govermnent. The shop owner is very friend and willingly to let people visit this old building. The owner is very proud to talk about this building by his grand grand papa in the Ching dynasty.

Great market area to find authentic odds and ends for suviners, household items, foods/herbs and dried vegetables. Plethora of shops to spend a full day enjoying the hustle and bustle of Taipei and the traditional style street market that is modernized.
