Always holds some interesting exhibitions. Not very big but it has a high view to enjoy Blue Mosque.

The museum is in Sultanahmet Square, with lots of carpets and lots of Quran inside. There is nothing much different. The Museum of Islamic Science and Technology History in Gülhane Park is better than this, at least there are different things there, from astronomy to tutu clocks. The most magnificent work in this museum is the lion right at the entrance.

Learn about the history! Well planned museum featuring rooms of different periods of Islamic history. Artifacts, calligraphy, dress, rugs, and more. Only drawback is the explanation panels are set in dim lighting making them difficult to read.

A wonderful museum! Interesting carpet collection, beautiful artifacts, calligraphies, stone works from Seljuk times, ceramics etc. Would visit again.

This place is a great and beautiful presentation of Ottman period and Islam.
Mind blowing, worth the high entrance fee.

Lovely museum with beautiful calligraphy and the prophet's beard! Also some shadow figures which look as if from Bali. Amazing what art, culture, maps, ceramics were around in 12thC whilst Europe was completely in the dark ages. Nice quiet area amidst the mad bustle outside to have a coffee and see the Blue Mosque.

Beautiful displays, the rugs are just amazing. a little hard to follow where you need to go as not alot of signage. I missed a whole section without realising. Beautiful gardens and coffee shop too.

If you are a Turkish/English speaker, you will understand the explanation by reading the information boards. If not, you can ask for a translator in entrance with reasonable fees to understand what's going on inside to enjoy the tour. There are so many monuments from different Islamic eras. The fees were reasonable, approximately $5.

This is the world's richest Islamic Art Collection museum. First opened in 1914, it was moved to it's current location, Ibrahim Pasha Palace, in 1983. The palace, one of the most important surviving palace buildings of late 15th century, is a fine example of Ottoman civil architecture, rises above the old Hippodrome of 1520.
While the Hagia Sophia mosque, located near by, is crowded all the time, this museum is quiet, easy to visit. There is a very rich ancient Turkish carpets section also.

This museum has an amazing relics collection, three times the size of the one within Topkapi palace and with 0 queues. Amazing and extensive exhibition that spans two levels and showcases the influences of the far reaches of the ottoman and Islamic empires

Beautiful artefacts dating back to the 12th and 13th century. Original Qu’ran manuscripts preserved perfectly. The museum provides an in-depth analysis of Turkish and Islamic art and history. If you require the audio visual equipment ( which would allow you to take the tour with the audio aid) make sure you take some form of identity document (passport / national
OD) Otherwise you will be limited to doing the tour without the aid. Well worth the visit.

MUST VISIT! This is now my favourite place in Istanbul. I have never seen so many Islamic art and architecture related items in one place. I’ve visited the museum in Qatar, Toronto, British museum in London, and no place has better very well organized by and extremely well kept artifacts. There’s entire section on holy relics. So if you miss the section in Topkapi in Museum, you could visit here and considering the line at the top copy museums so long to see any of the relics you are in a much better position to see them here. Entire section on the Prophet and his family is just beautiful. I loved all the entire museum was organized. It’s surrounded by a garden. There’s a beautiful café and a gift shop and just for information. There’s also really nice clean washrooms inside to. There are rooms devoted to each of the Islamic dynasties and the Turkish dynasties. It’s really nice to see so many things from each of them typically you see maybe one or two items in the other museums, and it was very refreshing to be able to sit and read about so many different historical pieces in one room! The eliminations that were there from any of the dynasties were beautiful, the Qurans that were they were beautiful, I loved it!

From all the museums in the area, I highly recommend this one! It has some really antique and unique pieces. It was pleasant to learn more about the culture, especially discovering how people used to write the books and Quran by hand. Beautiful!

Before this place was the Ibrahim paşa's house, where he lived with his wife Hatice sultan - sister of the Sultan Suleiman the magnificent. Now it is the museum.
This place only accepts cash to buy the tickets, no credit card. However, there was no queue when I visited on Monday morning.
