Amazing place to sit down and have a nice conversation with your friends. The view is amazing and the Turkish chai and coffee offered are outstanding. The service is quiet fast and they also accept card payments. They are kind enough to allow you to bring your own food items but not drinks. They have a variety of drinks including flavoured tea, traditional coffee etc.

Too crowded and had to wait for like an hour to find somewhere with a nice view to sit but it was worth it. I'd recommend getting something from from one of the bakeries around the cafe and sitting at the cafe, seems like everyone does it and the place probably earns from tea most.

Lovely place to have tea time with friends and enjoy the Bosphorus view. Bear in mind it is so packed in weekends, especially if you’d like to find a table for groups. They have many choices for tea/coffee drinks and their prices are of the most reasonable in Istanbul. Staff was kind and helpful to us

I just love this place for the beautiful location, the stunning views, the 1000 years old tree and just for being the best possible place to enjoy your turkish tea. Easy to reach with public transport and big recommendation.

Perfect spot to watch the bosphorus. We went at night, they have heaters outside to keep warm but still wear a big jacket during winter time. You can bring in outside food in to the store and order tea from them or anything else you need. The waiters are very welcoming. It’s always busy here even night time so you might need to wait a bit to find a good spot.

The food is decent but you come here for the view and the scenery.

From my point of view, Çınaraltı is the best restaurant in due to three main reasons. The first reason is that Çınaraltı has good food. For example, Çınaraltı’s food is fresh everytime. That place has freshly squeezed orange juice and lemonade and freshly caught fish every day. I think freshness of food and drinks is very important for health, so we should choose restaurants with fresh food. Also, Çınaraltı’s food and drinks are very delicious. This restaurant’s use of spices is very nice. That’s why the food is so delicious. The second reason is that the service. For instance, Çınaraltı’s service is very fast. İn this way, we can eat our food without waiting too long and we do not waste time. Also the waiters of this rastaurant are very kind. Therefore, we feel good in this place. The third reason is that the prices. Çınaraltı is cheaper than other bosphorus view restaurants. You won’t find a cheaper place in Çengelköy. Another example is if you want bring food from somewhere else, you can only buy drinks there. Thus, you bring food from home or a place more cheaper than Çınaraltı, you are just pay for drinks. This system is very affordable. To sum up, Çınaraltı is the best restaurant I’ve every seen for a several reasons.

You are allowed to bring any type of food but are required to order the drinks from the location.

They do have food. Like eggs, cheese, salads, honey etc. You can buy the Borek, Simit before enter at the local bakeries. They do provide bread. People have gone extreme and bring their tablecloths! Like seriously 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

They only accept cash!!!! Which is very weird, as like everywhere accepts credit cards also due to the pandemic cash should not be accepted.

The food was good and the price is affordable. The waiters were nice. The place has a nice seaside view, but unfortunately when i came the place that near the seaside was full and also there's no wifi in this restaurant

I love this place.. it’s a really nice place where you can bring your food (but NOT drinks) and have them or buy food and drinks from the cafe in the shade of a historical giant chestnut tree on the Bosphorus.
We had breakfast there and it was authentic Turkish breakfast, rich and quite cheap.. an important note: they do NOT accept credit or debit cards, you need to pay in cash only.

A popular aspects of the historical Çınaraltı Family Tea Garden for Istanbulites is that it is allowed to bring food from outside, furthermore, it provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Çengelköy, attracts local and foreign tourists as well as Istanbul residents.
This beautiful place is located under the plane tree, which is estimated to have been planted in Çengelköy in the 1200s, has been continuing the tradition of tradesmen for 25 years.
As far as I have observed, many people bring cold dishes such as cheese, olives, tomatoes and peppers from home and order hot tea such as menemen or eggs with sausage in the Historical Çınaraltı Family Tea Garden. All breakfast items can also be ordered from here for en economical price.

This place has an amazing view. You can bring your own food but not your own drink. They also serve food here. Service is fast staff is friendly.
