Palatium Cafe and Restaurant

Fabulous evening last night and tonight. Service is great. The food is super too, beers served in fridged cold glasses. We have had a window seat 2 nights in a row...and added bonus we weren't hassled outside to make a choice to come and eat there. The food is very reasonably priced too... better priced than a lot of the nearby competition. We were happy with our choice. Thank you

Decided to try it when we stayed at a hotel around the corner from here, given the area (tourist central) we weren't expecting much. It's our favourite restaurant in the area and we keep going back!

The setting is authentic as can be; you can choose from regular tables, couches or beanbags to dine on. There is a hole underneath the restaurant and can be seen through the glass floor.

The beer is affordable (when compared to other restaurants in the area), the service is good, the pricing is reasonable and the food is amazing.

A must-try if you're in the area.

The best and most authentic Turkish dishes I tried here. Just wowed by the service.
Even better, you dine above the archeological excavation of the original Crown Palace, covered by reinforced glasses.

The ambience was perfect, in walking distance to Hagia Sofia, tucked in the Sultanahmet area. Their Pottery Kebab experience was something you will not want to miss out on.

I liked this place so much that I ate here 4 times. Great vibe and great food. Just wish they'd end smoking inside, but that's par for the course in Turkey.

Palatium is more than a restaurant - it’s an experience. I travel a lot and I try not to go back to the same places, but I always go back to this restaurant when I am in Istanbul. You can have the experience you want - enjoy a wonderful dinner, relax with some Turkish coffee or tea, smoke shisa after a long day of sightseeing. You decide!

The food is incredible, the atmosphere is inviting and fun, but the staff is what makes this place so special. From our first visit, Abdurrahim and Gani have always gone out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. They take care of all their customers and that’s what makes people come back multiple times. All of the food is great - my favorites are the chicken shish, pide, and the mezze. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic food! Very delicious and the service is wonderful. I have been here numerous times whilst in the local area. The shisha and food prices is fantastic and value for money compared to those in the centre. It has a palace (ruins) underneath so great to look at and the glass on the floor u can see down the palace. Best place in Istanbul definitely worth coming here from wherever you are staying. This restaurant is a reflection of Istanbul, the price and food! Brilliant!

This place was our 'go to' restaurant when in Istanbul. Great food and cheaper than everywhere else. Also lovely staff. Top place.

Beautiful space and fun seating with the couches. Food was delicious! We got the chicken shish and the vegetable casserole. The chicken had a nice flavor. There was plenty of vegetarian options which was good for our group.

Palatium is a must if you’re in the Sultanahmet area! From the amazing staff and the delicious food to the overall experience / ambiance, this place is incredible! The prices are fair and the portions are huge! Had a wonderful experience here and can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in Istanbul!

This restaurant has good service, food, and PRICES. The truth is that my husband and I were tired of going to restaurants and seeing the overpriced food. I mean, to be honest, we came here to turkey because is famous for the good prices but when you came to the tourist area they charge you like you are in America. However, this restaurant was different the prices are reasonable not too expensive not too cheap. For example, we got two main dishes one entry ( the chicken dish, lamb chops, and a Meze, and one drink) plus service everything for 26 dollars. I recommend making the waiter repeat your order two times because they get confused and I felt bad when they brought a dish that we did not request but they were kind enough to change it and they did not make us feel bad for their mistake.

Visited this well designed cafe 3 times and each time they did not disappoint.
The food, drinks each time was tasteful and delicious.
Tried the Meze plate, shrimp casserole and humus.
Atmosphere is welcoming and warm.
English speaking waiters help advise on meal advice.

Highly recommend! We went for a quick bite to a restaurant, but we did not expect to get a show with dinner. The prices are low for the quality of the food and service you get. Everyone was very polite and friendly. Also, we got to see the site underneath restaurant.

We went 3 times during our stay in Istanbul and every time we were well looked after! Food is full of flavour and good portions, and the decor gives a great relaxing atmosphere. There is no problem for tourists with the bill, they never add extras or increase the price! A very enjoyable experience and recommend it for everyone.

Palatium serves typical Turkish cuisine, and, wow, they do it right!

I absolutely loved every dish we got here, entrees, drinks, and desserts. The vibes of the restaurant are amazing too, night or day. We visited her 2 diff times, and both times it was perfect.

For entrees, we dined the Mix Grill Plate for 2, Iskender Kebab, and Chicken wings w/ hot sauce. Each was hot, seasoned so well, and charred to perfection. If you order the clay pot dishes they come literally fresh out the oven, you can even hear the sizzling of the pot as they put it on your table. I love the food being in the pot because your food stays hot as you eat.

For desserts we tried the Rice Pudding, and a Kunefe with Ice Cream. Of course we also had tea. Both desserts were perfect sweetness level, and all of the dishes were a fair price for such an immaculate restaurant.

They have inside, outside, and terrace seating. They play nice music, and the ambiance is wonderful.The staff are very nice and quick to take your order.

I really love and recommend this restaurant, and wish I could've gone even more. This place is a must when eating in Istanbul.

An incredible cafe, restaurant, and hookah bar very close to the old city. Good food options, cozy seating with a rooftop spot, see-through glass flooring on the lower level, and a 1000+ year old cave palace below just to get things started. The staff is also very friendly and make sure to accommodate you.

Don't forget to go into the subterranean space!

Brilliant place to eat and drink. Very reasonable prices, great food, good service and a variety of eating choices such as soft chairs, formal tables and a terrace. We ate here every day of our 4 night stay.

Visited multiple times during a holiday with partner. We came for the incredible archaeology underneath, stayed for the food and kept coming back for the atmosphere for the rest of the week. Great food, probably still overpriced but also half price of most places nearby as they are bang in the middle of the tourist zone. Many vegetarian options. Friendly staff with no hassle and hustle, they leave you to it and give you plenty of time to decide what you want to order. Shisha lasts for hours and they often bring new charcoal (seriously though, what is the trick to keep the flavour going for so long?) - you can get shisha elsewhere for less but here it's prepared better. They are always busy when the businesses around desperately hustling for customers remain empty. Palatium I miss you

This place is excellent. Food, attention, everything is super good and beautiful atmosphere. I really recommend this spot in Istanbul.

Cozy cafe with comfortable seating. I got a cappuccino for about 90 lyra and sat inside to get out of the cold.

BEWARE: My friend got a milkshake for 150 lyra and it was just chocolate milk. Not the thick type of milkshake that many americans are used to. Otherwise a nice place with cool glass floor above the ruins.
