very interesting place to visit from 1400 BC

Historical site is really well maintained. Peaceful and not many tourists during winter. Cats everywhere so it's a plus if you love those furry balls.

Traveler beware! This tour only takes you to the city of Ephesus itself. The second paragraph of the tour description is not included. They don’t take u to the Basilica or house of Mary. They are misleading in their description, they state they take you out the city gates and you can pay to go inside those sites, but they don’t. I assumed we would resume the tour after lunch but they just took us back to Izmir. Upon complaining to the agency they stated “These services are extra services within the tour. If you want to buy, you must inform your guide.” This is not mentioned in the description, was not stated to me by the agency the day before when they contacted me about pick up, and neither did the guide say anything at the beginning of the tour. How is the customer supposed to know? The description states they take you there you assume they do without u having to ask. The guide was great but u miss out on half the tour u thought u paid for. Get a cheaper one, this is only 1/2 a tour.
